I believe some infrastructure upgrades will see modest speed increases (top speeds increasing from 150km/h to 160km/h) but these new trains are capable of 200km/h (125mph) so hopefully there will be further infrastructure enhancements in future to allow the new trains to reach their full potential.

30%-40% of the population don't think that way and keep voting certain governments in that don't follow science. For example, in Ontario one of the first things that the Ford government did when it was first elected was to cancel renewable energy contracts, including one with a company that was currently assembling the wind turbines. Now, because of their actions and the previous government have done nothing to replace the nuclear reactors that are coming to the end of their lifetime Ontario will be turning to gas powered electricity generation and increasing our CO2 emissions. Almost everyone wants to build new infrastructure for power and heat that we need but almost nobody things about reducing demand, which could provide a decent reduction in emissions, provide jobs, and improve the living conditions for many people. (Just turning up the heat because energy prices are lower again doesn't stop air leaks and drafts in homes, for example.)
Sorry for the rant, I agree with most of what you have to say except for money and financial systems went totally off from their original idea. Money and financial systems are neutral. They don't have any intentions for good or bad, the same as political systems, how people vote, or even the scientific process. All of these things may be used for good or bad by the people utilizing them. Every system needs checks and balances to prevent people with ill intentions from causing harm. But if harm comes it is the person using the system that is the problem, not necessarily the system itself.

These are great sets. Good to see something from this decade running. Meanwhile, in BC, they're buffering the front and rear of THE (only) train so that when it has an accident, the empty cars at the front and rear will be crushed. That's because they're too old and unsafe, and upgrades aren't a thing in the west. It rarely runs on time, is outrageously expensive, way slower than driving, and the schedule makes it virtually unusable. An embarrassment. Estonia has better service than we do, and they're (actually) building high speed trains as well.
