great video ,,this is what im trying to do ,,i have a 48v ebike moped 250w a 36v 350w and a 12 volt assisted power i want to build individual 12v packs that will connect together ,,will this blow my 12v bms in each pack ??
Hei , that's a good question ! The best is to have a Bms for the total amount of volts and amps the final battery have . If you want to have individual BMS on each 12v pack you will have to charge them separately and connect the wires betwen those packs in series to provide the voltage the electric motor needs . It will blow the bms if you want to charge the group of the battery packs which have 12 v bms with a 36 v / 48 v .. so again you will have to charge them separatelly . As for discharging the battery sistem you said .. It will probabily work for a while , but I don't think it's a reliable solution .

Hello dear nice job. I want to make a 12V 4 amp/h battery for my motorcycle with lithium ion cell. with 4x2 cell in parallel and series. is it safe workable for general motorbikes?? do i need additional charger or circuit to charge & discharge this battery?? You may know motorcycle has its own charging system via rectifier. please help me.
Hello ! First find out how much does the rectifier on your motorcycle , charge the curent battery you have . if it's not more than 13 volts , you might consider using LiFePo4 cells which have a nominal voltage of 3.2 volts instead of 3.7 volts as Li Ion cells . So when 3.2 volts used in 4 series will result in 12.8 v nominal and around 14.6 volts when fully charged . If you use 3.7 v Li ion cells in 4 series , the battery might go to 16.8 volts when fully charged . So again , depends of your motorcycle charging voltage and what's the voltage requiered to run it correctly . Than you can just find a combination as I mentioned . You migh use 3 series of 3.7 v li ion which can be 12.6 v when fully charged ! After you figured out that , find a protective board ( BMS ) specific for that battery you are gonna build ( like 3s , 4s , LiFePo4 or LiIon , amps ) . aliexpress is a good website for that . It is safe as long as the new battery will have the same v / amp as the old one . I hope it helps !
Nothing catastrophic , but the battery will get overcharged , possibly extra stress on the rectifier and something might fail on long run ( at least that's valid for cars )
@@doit_vehicles, if i use the laptop battery s protection charging Circuit in it, then it might be saved from overcharged. I guess rectifier is capable to charge 12v so no stress there will be. What u think?

Hi, i have 40 Panasonic 3.7V , 3400mah. If I do 4P10S, I get 37V 14AMP battery pack, will it work with 36V 500W ebike kit? are you using 12 awg or 14awg for discharge cable? they look bigger than the other. thank you !
Yes , they should be able to handle that motor ; to double check you can test the cells for maximum discharge and see how they react or check the specs from the seller . I don't remember the size of the wires but they were more than 12 awg
I would stick with Samsung or LG...much better batteries that handle load better with very low voltage drop and least affected in the subzero temperatures. If I were you I would avoid using the BMS and just build the batteries in simple way....less things to go wrong and easier to troubleshoot when your ebike or escooter fails. Hello ! Yes sure , From what you said you can make a 15.6 Amp battery for that controler . So you will need 60 cells in total like : 10 cells in series than 6 cells in parallel ; The diagram will be very similar with what I did in that video , except that you will add one more cell in parallel . And what kind of battery case do you wanna use ? If you want to make it in plastic case like I did , make sure you can fitt all 60 cells inside the case before you start the work . If you dont wanna have it in a plastic case , than you can make it in any shape you want as long as the configuration remain the same ( 10 in series and 6 in parallel ) careful not to shorcircuit them if you must fit them in a plastic case like I did . :) Let me know how it went .
@@doit_vehicles Great. Thanks. I've already made a triangle box with plain metal sheet to fit lead acid batteries. But weights nearly 20kg !!!!.... I have to reduce weight by any means. Thank you so much for your help. (Y)
You need to find out the safe discharge current in Amps of the cells you are using, most brand name cells can handle around 4 to 6 max discharge, check the spec sheets at second life storage website, then multiply the safe discharge amps by how many cells you have in parallel this will tell you the safe and max discharge in amps ie 3amps safe discharge for a 36v 10s7p battery will be 7 x 3 = 21 amps, some batteries show a C rating for the discharge so a 3000mah battery with a C2 discharge will be 2 x 3000mah or 2 x 3amps = 6amps discharge, and a C3 will be 3000mah x 3 = 9amps, So C is x the batteries capacity, but check the spec sheets to be sure and for your own peace of mind.

@@menovitunparamm4116 So if you wanna make a 72 v battery ( 72 v it's the nominal voltage , therefore when fully charged the pack will have 84 v ) you will need first 20 cells in series - 20s . thanks , I am glad that you liked it !
what about power indicator and usb port???
That BMS did not have the connectors to solder the usb port , power indicator or power switch ;
Where did you learn about this stuff?
Mostly from opening & observing
So its 396w battery? Could use with 500w motor?
yes , it's possible
@@doit_vehicles so i could make 8000w 70,3V 105Ah battery pack from 50 18650 cells (3,7V 3400mah)???? Plz help
@@menovitunparamm4116 Yes , but you will need much more than 50 cells to make a 72 v 105 ah battery ... and the battery will be quite large
@@doit_vehicles why more than 50? First create 1 battery pack with 19 cells | 19x3.7V=70,3V/3400mah
and then to get amps higher
Then another battery pack with 31 cells
31x3400mah=105 400 || 105ah/3.7V
And then combine both battery packs in paraller or series?
@@menovitunparamm4116 So if you wanna make a 72 v battery ( 72 v it's the nominal voltage , therefore when fully charged the pack will have 84 v ) you will need first 20 cells in series - 20s . If you want 105400 mah on this pack that's correct you will use 31 cells in parallel . Therefore 20 cells in series, times 31 in parallel equals 620 cells in total .So the pack will be super large and you will have difficulties in finding a BMS for such capacity on a 72 v nominal battery pack .
It's not impossible though , if you have the budget for it .
I hope it helps
How we can make 48v pls ?
Very similar way , just make 13 groups in series
Top video 👌
Good job mate
Where did you buy that battery case. I've been looking for it, so I can match it up to my Ebike. Also, Where do you buy your batteries. I'm looking for a good deal. BTW, your videos are awesome!

Nice work. How do you connect the USB port?
Thanks ! For the usb port on this battery case you'll need a bms with such connections ; Unfortunately I did not found one for sale ...
where do i buy these cells?
aliexpress - just look for 18650 cells
@@doit_vehicles How do you know if they are able to do a continuous discharge of 20/30 Amps for electric bicycles/skateboards?
the seller should provide the maximum discharge current; usually, it's around 4 -10 amps/cell. Or if you have a cell tester , use it and you can be more sure about the max discharge on each cell
i want this case...help me brother how i get

Hey
In one hundred years we will be able to sell electric bikes to the Chinese ! 🍍
Only if they keep making 18650 cells :)) lol
@@doit_vehicles the cells that China make suck
@ do_it 36 Volts
Is NOT ENOUGH 😒
How about something 72 to 96 Volts 💪👂 For some of us Heavyweight people in Need of the Extra Power?!?!? Thanks I Would Really Appreciate 🖒🖒
I'M Trying to Build a 8000w hub motor kit
I agree ! the thing is , where I live it's "ilegal" to run more than 250 w motor on a e-bike ; However I am planing to build an off-road 2 wheel drive with something around 10 kw - once I've saved up enough $$$ for that
pretty sure you are the count, as you love to count
Who knows
over your head?
unfortunately yes
Buy a wire stripper!
👌👍
use plastic holders!
