Love it. My daughter just got her first violin a few months ago. ( She is four ) I play her your videos often; she dances around, completely enjoying both your ability & persona. May I please raise a glass to your natural talent and continued success!!!! Here, here, Bistodeau, may your ambitions never be folly nor your doubts be overbearing. Godspeed young lady, for today, and all days here after!

Congrats Sedra! Just another step in your progression to become the best! This Video will let many people sense the fire that burns within you while also letting them glimpse your teriffic personality. I have finally returned home...after five months on the road...and will be posting the video from rounds one and two from your Weiser National Old Time Fiddlers' Contest this past summer. Wishing you continued success....and of course looking forward to seeing and hearing more from you.....

Great story and playing. Does she really want to practice all the time? Or is that part of the presentation? I would like to know if she was pushed to work at it when younger. I am a father of 4. Raising the kids in music, violin, fiddle... My kids had some early success. Some at contests would say, "young virtuosos in training" or "They are going to be scary good by their teens". I tried to keep it fun, while also pushing them to be consistent with the work ethic. We are still good, but not on pace for this kind of thing. My kids just are not driven and focused enough to be at the top. BTW, nobody gets to the higher levels without 3 hours+ per day of practice. We reached 2 1/2 to 3 by age 11 with my oldest.... It wasn't sustainable. She wasn't competitive. Her teacher was. Eventually she was in there, but not really focused. It's so hard to know how to deal this this kind of thing.

a kid i grew up with is now a fairly prominent big city orchestra violinist. he practiced 6 hours a day when we were 14. it appeared he really wanted to. he pretty much quit high school for lessons with the same instructor in the video, sally o'reilly. he wasnt pushed. he really didnt care what we other kids were doing. it was weird, even at the time we thought surely he was being pushed. he wasnt. he just loved it. he liked it more than his friends.
