I have been using Amazfit gtr 4 limited edition for while now and I love it so much. Mainly the battery life. I receive calls and can make call too. The only problem is that I cannot get to the phone book. I used like for 10 days before charging it again. I have samsung watch 6 but I stop using it because of the battery life.
Honestly the main reason why I keep getting amazfit watches is the battery. Any watch that last more than 2 days is already better than apple and Samsung.
Agreed! Battery life and great value is what first got me into Amazfit many years ago.
Try a Huawei watch. It's a lot more premium but I get about 2 weeks battery life. Easy.

@@techgadgets100 Just started watching now, actually! I saw on a video that Amazfit put out that you can respond to Whatsapp messages using your voice now. I'm terribly interested in that feature if my understanding is correct.
sorry for the delay. I just checked. Sorry, you can only respond to whatsapp notifications with the preset texts that you use for any other text. I doubt voice responses are something that is coming any time soon- first Amazfit would need to allow me to actually free text my responses, then they can work on voice recording...
notification responses is a weak spot for Amazfit products.
@@techgadgets100 Hi there! I've got my Balance and you can totally use Flow to respond via voice to text with texts and Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger messages. It's a great feature! You can't play folks' voice messages, mind you, and of course there's no keyboard, but this is a pretty big step for Amazfit, I feel. Ever since I got it I've been using that feature to respond to my family. Great stuff!
I have been testing some new watches so have not used Flow much, but that is awesome. Agreed- big pickup for Amazfit! Thanks for the update!

Hi, anyone using balance for swimming laps in the pool? Is it accurate enough? Does it detect pause well or count it as the time of lap?
In the first grid view that looks like an Apple watch if you just zoomed in a little bit further it will start to show the text name under each icon.

I assume the Readiness Score is meant to inform your workouts: i.e. more mellow workouts after a poor sleep or in high-stress situations.

i've been using the GTR4 for over a year now and honestly it is a pretty darn good watch for the price.
i don't understand what is the "upgrade" in this Balance model though, it seems as though the only real BIG difference between the GTR4 and this Balance model is that GTR4 uses ZeppOS 2.1 and the Balance is using ZeppOS 3.0 (other than the actual watch colour itself).
it also seems like Balance has worse real battery life compared to GTR4 (you state 7 days with the Balance, i can easily get 15 days with my GTR4) etc.
The Amazfit GTR 4 is still a great watch but the Balance add several features. It has NFC, temperature sensor, body composition measurements, a readiness score (based on sleep tracking), and offline maps. It also has a slightly bigger screen, slightly better resolution and a brighter screen. Balance was just updated to Zepp 3.5.
Amazfit lists the battery life as the same, 7 days heavy use, 14 days regular use. Obviously individual results vary.
If you are happy with the GTR 4, I would probably wait to upgrade, unless you see some features that you will definitely use. Maybe the Balance 2 will win you over...
Is the notification vibration nice and strong? And is the notification font size any larger than on the GTS3?
I would say the vibration alert is average and there is no mild/ strong customizations. But you can make your own vibration pattern in the zepp app, so then you can have it vibrate several times for a notification. The font size is good but average. You can adjust font size for the app but not the watch. Keep in mind the balance does have a 1.5inch screen so it is pretty readable.

Easy! go to settings: scroll down to preferences: then app view. You can change it from grid view to list view. I am with you, I much prefer to the list view. Hope that helps!
Have you tried to “broadcast the heart rate” to the garmin cyclo ?
no I have not.
Do we need subscription in amazefit balance for workout analysis?
There is a subscription option for Zepp aura, which gives you more insight into your sleep and Zepp fitness, which gives you more insight into your weekly and monthly workout stats. There is supposedly more AI features available with these subscriptions.
But, I found all the standard sleep and work out/ activities information are very comprehensive and free. I use the watch without any subscription services.
You might get a free trial when you buy the watch, if you are interested.
For Some how i can't control music via watch playing music on my phone when phone screen is turned off.tried it with different music players ...Secondly it has a very weak speaker .even when speaker volume is on high .can't her the person on the other side clearly
Is it possible that you did not give the Zepp app access to music/ audio?
I'm using Garmin Fenix already from the F3, F3hr, 5, 6pro and now the F7x.
But I don't use it anymore that often after an accident. Therefore I'm looking to sell the F7x and get something less expensive but still a good watch and decentbatt. But from what I hear about Amazfit ... not good as accurate for sleep tracking. And I hear that these Amazfit watches are more specific tailored to runners. I don't run. I walk..
During my experience with Amazfit their watches have been accurate for sleep tracking and fitness data. Good battery life and great value. Amazfit really emphasized their watches' runners features on the Cheetah line but they track any kind of exercise. You definitely dont need to be a serious runner to use them.

As of now, the newest "premium" watch is the Balance. Amazfit did also introduce the Active and Active edge recently.
I don't know ho to set the weight on the watch in weight training..and i cant see the muscle heatmap menu in zepp. Can you tell me?
Ok, couple of things. I'll try to fit all this into my customization video. First, this only works with strength training work out. Before you work out, when you are on first strength training screen, scroll up, toggle on auto group. Now work out, after about 5 or 6 reps, you'll see watch counting. When you are done with set, the watch will be counting rest time. On this screen you can enter weight and adjust rep number if watch was off. Don't need to do anything else, just move onto next set. Do this for all of your reps. When you go home, the heat map and all your sets will be shown in activities on Zepp app. Sounds like a lot but it is pretty automatic.
What if you do an exercise which is not included in the 25 exercises that the watch can automatically recognize? @@techgadgets100
You can edit it. Once you click the edit icon, you get to choose from about 125 exercises to use, so way more than the 25 auto picks.

I had the GTR3 Pro for 15 months and practically wore it 24/7, even when gardening. Not a single scratch even under a magnified lens.
That's great! I had my GTR 4 for a few weeks and I guess I just hit something- not even sure what- look at my watch and its cracked. Awesome watch though! I wish I could have put up with the crack...
How to set notification for whatsapp in device?
Go to the profile portion of the Zepp app. click on "amazfit Balance" under my devices. then notifications, then app alerts. Give it a second to populate but here are all your apps. scroll all the way down to whats app (alphabetic order) and toggle it on. The apps that you are allowing notifications from are on the top of the app list.

No, this is the Amazfit Balance, which I think is the successor of the GTR 4. I, and a lot of people consider this the GTR 5. I believe that there will not be a GTR 5 and that Amazfit ended the GTR naming structure of its watches. Of course, I could be wrong and Amazfit could still release a new watch and call it the GTR 5 but the Balance was released at the same time that the GTR 5 would have been released if Amazfit was keeping with their previous GTR update pattern. there has been no news of a GTR 5 so far and the GTR 4 was released in Sept 2022...
If you liked the GTR 4, I think you will really like the Balance.
Any Balance vs TicWatch ?
I am really wanting to buy the TicWatch pro 5 but I keep delaying. I waiting and waiting for my TicWatch pro 3 to get promised update. Finally software was released in Dec 2023 for a watch released in 2020... Mobvoi has also not released any update promise or schedule for the TicWatch pro 5, so I have little hope for a wear OS 4 update. Honestly, I love the Mobvoi hardware but software is probably more important today, and with Mobvoi's poor update history, I would avoid their products until this improves.
Same here bro the 5 pro looks great but the frustration with lack of updates is bad. My pro 3 power button died no voice assistant after the os update and wear os app wont even sync with the watch
Mobvoi finally gives us a software update and it removes features. The ticwatch pro 5 is supposedly in beta testing for wearOS 4...but ofcourse wearOS 5 is around the corner.

If you are talking about the watches listed in the video, the Cheetah and the GTR 4, I would go with the Balance. It adds several features for about the same price, and of course newer is always nicer 😊

How to set app view to the list/
Funny someone else just asked about this.
On watch, go to settings, preferences, then scroll down to app view. As of now, you have 2 choices, list and grid views.
@@techgadgets100 Thanks. I have 3 timers in my widget - 1-5-20 minutes, do you know if theres a way you change it so you can select the one you need just on a widget?
@@tennisfan6343 As far as I know, those options cant be changed. You can set a new timer but those will still be the default times. Another possible option, there is a Pomodoro timer app which will hold the last timer duration that you input. So if you need to same timer over and over that may work.
Why take the Balance over the Cheetha pro ?
The feature set between these two are VERY similar and you would probably be happy with either. The Cheetah pro display is covered with Gorilla glass vs tempered glass. The pro also has offline maps. The Balance has slightly larger battery, temperature sensor, and the BIA, body composition measurements and a brighter display. In USA, the Cheetah pro is $299, the Balance is $229.

I don't like to buy a watch that has already outdated sensors and software, and I'm also looking g at durability without the bulky watch body.
I saw somewhere something about body composition sensor gen 3 and gen 5 ?
Also a negative, no possibility to add external chest strap hearth monitor.
I don't think either are outdated, both came out in 2023. The Balance does have a newer sensor, but I dont think it is a significant upgrade. You can connect a heart strap on both but only through BT.

Sorry about this, I made a mistake. Thanks for finding it. Offline maps are available on the Cheetah watch series that I was recently showing someone- this feature is not available on the Balance.

I am in the market for my first smart watch so I have a few questions.
Does it have a 4G/LTE SIM card ?
Can you load whatsapp on the phone or do you have to use basic SMS for texting ?
Are there any payment apps ?
Have you tested it under water ?
Have you compared it with the more common Samsung, Apple or Google smart watches ?
I am basically looking for a watch that will allow me at times to leave my phone at home but yet still have access to my most commonly used apps on the watch.
I will go in order for the questions.
There is no LTE version of the Balance, you have to connect to the phone through BT.
you can not load whats app onto the watch but it will get the notifications.
There is NFC and Zepp pay but it is limited to 31 countries.

"Zepp Pay will be supported by Curve and participating issuer banks in 31 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom."
I have not tested it in water, but it is rated for 5 ATM.
What good luck, I did do a detailed comparison between the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 classic. But not the apple watch or Pixel.

If you are looking for a watch that will allow you to leave your phone at home this is not it. You can keep track of your exercises without your phone, the watch has built in GPS, you can store music on it and you can pair your buds with it but---
You would not be able to make calls or get texts without your phone. Apple, Samsung, and Pixel watches have LTE versions (and BT versions) which are more expensive but it sounds like that is what you are looking for.

I have problems with stairs counting ... it doesnt working at wall ... even when is stairs climbing workout ... very disappointed!
As far as I know, watch doesn't count floors.

I guess it depends how much money you have. The Apple will definitely be more refined and add features, I think, most noticeable will be texting.
Stair counting is never perfect. Garmin uses the barometer to try to calculate stairs and even it's not really accurate depending on the situation.

THIS IS NOT THE GTR 5. Hasn't been released yet. This is pretty pathetic. You are pushing the GTR5 but showing the "Balance". Shame on you!
I was NOT (I left the "not" out of the original post- sorry) intending to be disingenuous. I was just trying to build a little suspense in my thumbnail. My title has not changed, I clearly state that this is a review of the Amazfit Balance.
However, many people have been searching for the new version of the GTR 4, which many expect would be called the GTR 5- so this is what they search for. So I include that in the title and description so people will find what I believe is the updated GTR 4.
I believe that Amazfit will not make a GTR 5 and the Balance is the new version of the GTR 4.
The GTR 4 was released Sept 1, 2022. The Balance was released Sept 1 2023. I still have not seen any news about the GTR 5, a year and a half after the GTR 4 release.
If you have any news as to if there will be a GTR 5 please comment, I am sure many people would be interested in that information, including myself.
