Jeff, quick question for you. Do you use that 3 week rule for blinds also?
Our big 9 showed up from last year a few days ago! Made a big jump to 4 1/2 going to be tough to pass him this year
That's great Drew, really happy for you!
My main chore is staying inside like you said, I'm not spooking anything.
A pretty effective chore!
❤ I so enjoy this guy! Saved my food plots many times ! God bless you Jeff ...
I hunt in big ag land northeast Ohio. Is rye worth planing with farms around me planting winter wheat on their farms?
It sure is...but wheat isn't bad either. The difference is that you need to plant more like 150-200s per acre+, as opposed to the 100#s per acre that farmers plant. You want your grains low, lush and very thick...deer love that!
Set out 2 new water holes today and 2 more ready to go tomorrow. Still dry in mid michigan
Man...should be the perfect time to do so!
Jeff it’s here I’m backkkkkkk💯🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hi Tommy how's it going?! Good to have you back in the channel 😁 Crazy how many come back for the hunting season and I appreciate you!
My rye/ wheat plots are coming up pretty good now we got some rain! Unfortunately my giant brassicas took a hell of a beating in that tropical storm! It took half the roof off my barn and ripped big oaks up by the roots, my tree blind i built held up but it broke the top out of one if the smaller trees i built into! Hopefully the brassica s will still survive for the most part but it broke alot of the big stems down to the bulb! They was just getting bulbs on most the size of a baseball! I have worked so hard on this just for one storm to set me way back! I think im going to hit it with rye again today Incase the brassica don't fill back in. It is my first plot so i have no clue how they will rebound!
Dang Troy...feel for you but great you are SAFE! I can honestly say I've never experienced the devastation of a hurricane. Those brassicas may rebound? I've seen them come back a little after heavy grazing pressure...kind of similar? You still have a lot of growing season left down there so I hope so...
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 yeah I have a good month left of growing season and there is a bunch of tiny brassicas that should pop on up now we're they can get some sun! Deer ain't touching them at all right now but hopefully that will change soon, I have rye/ wheat planted around that area so it will be a learning experience watching what they gravitate too and when the do! I been finishing the tree blind so I been putting pressure on the property but hopefully I can get that finished I a few days so I can let it rest and have the last 2 weeks of Oct to possibly hunt! This is the time of yr they move into my thick property so I hope I'm not jacking that up! I'm usually not back there at all unless I'm putting Cams out or corn! Be different to see how I changed the landscape from plots to intrusion and see how they react! I may not have a shooter at all show up but that happens alot of yrs! Last yr was an exceptional yr for mature bucks on cam so be hard to top that again this yr!
Always enjoy the deer chores!
Me too Alex...although I'm looking forward to a relaxing deer season now 😁
How long do you typically set your videos for your Reveal cameras and how long between videos thank you
0:08 I laughed so hard at this
😁
Can’t wait for opening day Tuesday here in Ontario…. I have 2 target bucks on my land…. Thx for everything Jeff…you are the goat 🤙
Quick ? Hurricane helene reeked havoc at my best spot. Tree's uprooted to the point I can't get to my stand. I know its terrible timing to be cutting w/ chainsaw. Even without much cutting will it hurt deer activity in that area or have no effect.
May have to sell a organ for the lithium batteries this year
Lol...so true! We buy in bulk from JCB battery (I believe) at about $1.89 a battery. Still expensive but way better than local prices!
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 thanks for the heads up I’ll check them out
North Louisiana planted all our plots today and fertilized. Limed earlier in the year after soil tests told us what we needed. Cleaned out stands and looking for a few late stand placements tomorrow!
Jeff, thank you for another awesome video! I will be returning in a few weeks from deployment right in the heart of hunting season. I've got a lot of work to be done, but I cannot wait. Thank you for outstanding information and all of the positivity!
Three more days to the archery opener, and the deer have had over a month to become accustomed to the blinds, but with rain forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, I won't be out. As thick as much of the property is, I don't want to risk losing a deer because the blood trail was washed away. Better safe than sorry.
Great video. I was out yday doing last planting of rye, prunning shooting lanes and planting trees. Season opened here in ohio today. I hope that i will not return to my land unless i have a bow in hand
Can I frost seed pollinator blend into strip fall planted with oats and then rye? Southern Tier NY.
First
I'm pretty sure Kurt!
I'm watching! So keep the videos coming :)

Thanks a lot Connor!
Thanks Jeff
