- Pilsen (Czech: Plzeň) is a city in the western Czech Republic. Pilsen is known for the Pilsner Urquell Brewery and the type of beer brewing of golden lager (Pilsner).
With several parks around the city it has several relaxing spots. We start our tour while a late summer thunderstorm is developing. From the central Republic Square (Náměstí Republiky) with the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew we walk around the city center. There are some events going on (in August 2020) until we get to the Opera and out of the charming center.
Near the the old center we see 19th-century Great Synagogue and return to the Republic Square while it starts raining 30 minutes into our walk. The last 15 minutes we walk with an umbrella from the city center to the Pilsner Urquell Brewery where we end our tour.

Pilsen is not a very big city but very beautiful. I've been to several Czech cities and they are all beautiful and cozy. After watching this video I wanted to visit Pilsen too

I love Pilsen, been there twice and loved it. As an American it's a little disconcerting to hear American Bluegrass music but it's wildly popular in CZ, yet another reason to love it there

Aww thank you! I come from Pilsen but have been living in the Uk for nearly 30 years. This video is great, even includes the beautiful house in which my Dad lived (with his 2nd wife) at 29:00 Now I can walk my British friends through my city 😍

Hmm, was this really last summer? I don't know much about how the pandemic was there in August but I would've expected to see a few masked people given how they were the first country to make a mandatory mask law outdoors, it kinda looked like it was in Sweden with people not covering their face.
Anyways, Plzen looks very beautiful, and a thousand times more calm compared to Prague!
End of August 2020 was surprising to me coming from Germany. Masks were mandatory on trains in Germany yet after passing the border to Czech Republic all the people entering there didn't wear one. There were isolated outbreaks from nightclubs in summer so most people didn't mind.
The first wave in spring was indeed handled well in the Czech Republic due to their restrictions and mandatory masks. People got tired of it when summer and had that banquet in Prague to celebrate the end of the lockdown.
Winter is a different challenge...
