You *really* should have been paying attention during the tutorial; none of you are any good at controlling the katamari. The camera is always behind the katamari, so if you turn yourself, you'll turn the camera, too. It operates on tank controls: to turn, you need to pull back on one stick and push forward on the other. You can also click both sticks in for a moment to jump over to the other side of the katamari, turning 180 degrees.
I think there's a button to make the king's messages go away, too, which would be really useful to find.
