Authentic Mental Health I’ve been told I may be dyslexic and I’m waiting to have a test done. I scored 4 in the test I was close to 5 but I answered no one of the questions because I wasn’t entirely sure
I have been diagnosed irlen I have to wear dark glasses they're black and blue the cost nearly 300 quid all together but my reading is excellent now the first time in 48 years I've gone back to college
As a dyslexic let me reassure all those who (like me) answered yes to every question, and even questioned myself on 2 of them (1 and 6). Having dyslexia doesn't make your life terrible. It may be hard to learn memory intensive studies. But being dyslexic ironically makes you more likely to adapt to our society on your own terms. You are a far more out-of- the-box thinker then any avrige individual, to the point where your opinions are rival only to that of those who are classified as "geniuses". Understand that your unwillingness to understand basic schooling or societies normal pathological studies, isn't becuase you are slow, or disabled. It is becuase your mind is able to comprehend our society in a way that it is incapable of understanding itself. It takes you longer to learn becuase your mind wants to think there are better ways of understanding that which is presented to it. There should be no denying that there is, but you simply need to come to the understanding that you (like many great minds) are a minority. To survive in this world you must come to the understanding of the ideas that those who are trained to believe teach you. You yourself do not need to believe them, but you must accept the challenge of regurgitating them as the majority do. Becuase if you are not able to live in there world, they will prosecute you, they will torment you, they will give you no choice, and if you still refuse they will end your life. Threw imprisonment, threw execution, and in the nicest, most polite way they can act upon it. Becuase it is what THEY believe is the right thing. Becuase it is what THEY think is correct. You do not make the rules in this world. You live by there rules. They do not know your pain, will never know your pain, and no matter how much you try to explain it they are not programmed to understand. You are not stupid, you are not slow, you are not disabled. You were born to understand the truth. So don't let anything make you give up on living your life. You are a stranger in a strange land. Do as the locals do. Live another day. It will be hard, but it's bearable. There are many who cannot live the kind of life you live, they go insane. Do not be like them. Being the mental minority should allow you to see that we can live the same life. We can be happy among the crowd. If we have to be among the sheep, let us at least be the sheep who enjoy our lives. Not the ones who fear it. Study hard, it will pay off. Learn things your own way, make the knowledge yours. Becuase there is truth to it. Regardless of what will be parroted.
Having auditory dyslexia myself, I didn't understand most of what you said, but it's great hearing this!! Recently, I've been blaming my dyslexia for everything. Understanding things isn't my strong suit, but I did understand some at what you're saying and it makes me want to cry in happiness because I always felt like I've been behind in life. ☺

It was picked up when I was at primary school. Back then there wasn't the help that there is today. How it affects me is im bad at maths. My spelling is poor. I used to get told use a dictionary but I say I can't cause you need to know how to spell to use one. I here there's a dictionary for dyslexia. I sometimes write a p when it should be a d. I can't read books I just can't take in what I read. Learning is very hard I need to be shown a job loads of times before I get how to do it. Then I will master it like I've done it for years. I'm not good with paperwork but excellent at praticical things. When I write I can write a head of what I need to put. Talking about numbers I can say 6400 but I should have said 4600. From next week I'm moving from my floor job to the office so there will be typing and accounts to do. I'm half worried about it. That test you just did I could relate to all of it. Not so much about Q1. A struggled through school and college but I did it. Yes it was hard and I had a lot of hard work to study. But I got there.
The way this guy talks and breaks up his words makes it so easy to understand what he’s saying. Idk what it is but he just breaks it up so nicely for my dyslexic Brian
I scored 6. Everyone thought I was dumb, I was bottom of my class in school and got punished for not being able to read or memorise my multiplication table 😢. Well today I work as a mechanical design engineer doing very complex designs and equations, non of my teachers can believe how far I’ve come 😂. It’s a gift not a disability, don’t look down on yourself for being dyslexic your mind is capable or so so much guys.
Same here, got all 6. Retired now, with a career in electrical engineer. Was even in the special ed class too! 😎 other issue is Im hearing impaired. Thinking this was an issue on not spelling great.
I have never found a job where I can be good and gifted like you. I did 6 years of art school because I couldn't do anything else and I was in the worst because I hate drawing, but I couldn't do anything else. As soon as you have to learn something I am slower and more mediocre than the others, because my dyslexia destroys my memory and makes me under efficient in everything I must learn. I am like a "thinker in a vacuum" I was told a faith. The emptiness of the lack of information and knowledge that I can learn because my brain learns the new ultra -slowly and low quantity information because of the low working memory of dyslexia. Dyslexia is a curse certainly not a chance! I have no gifted, I hate my brain, dyslexia is a genetic defect that should be wandered. I do not wish anyone to have my shitty life condemned to mediocrity and unable to be a professional in anything, to be condemned to mediocrity as in school.
Reason I hate my dyslexia: In theater we have to read out loud the script and most of the times the way we read it effects what role we will get. Well my slow reading time isn't painting me in the best light, no is it? xD I mess up words all the time and it's really frustrating. Like I know what the page says, I can read it just fine in my head, but once you make me read it out loud... nah. Sigh to the max level
I have problems at school trying to learn but I’m good at maths I got 74% on a test but a month later I had a words test and I got 0% and the teacher said why didn’t you do any of the test so I said ‘’I can’t read’’ he laughed
Matthew Colyer I’m so sorry to hear that. My parents are divorced and I’m not fully trusting my step dad right now cause I’m always paranoid with anxiety and quite depressed.
bro I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was younger and have worked very hard with tutors in and out of school to learn. Just had a dyslexia test to see if I can get extra time on GCSEs and I passed, which means I’d don’t get extra time. This actually pisses me off. The fact that I’m being punished compared to other dyslexic children who never tried as hard.
I answered 5 out of 6, since then I've always curious about my speaking condition, I cannot fucos on everything and being bullied. but I'm trying to make ways like practice proper breathing while reading.
I know exactly how you feel, I'm 60 and have struggled over the years thinking I was just "not very clever" I now know how to manage my condition and have done well in life because knowing my weaknesses and strengths I've avoided what I'm not good at and concentrated on what I excel in.
Same here, never been tested. But 12 years ago I took all these online test and it all made sense. I broke down in tears because I felt so stupid my whole life.
I’ve answered 4 out of 6. When I was in school I told my mother that it was something wrong with me and she blew it off as if I was lying. As I get older it’s getting harder and harder. I want to go back to school to get my high school diploma or GED but I’m scared that I will fail.😔
It breaks my heart I am 44 years old and finally understand what was wrong with me I have self diagnosed myself with dyslexia I have a high school diploma that means absolutely nothing to me I have never read a book in my life making it through life has been difficult but not impossible I own and operate my own painting successful business
I found an application on my phone called Moon Reader mixed with the google text to speach service allowed me to "read" hundreds of books. Its a little better than Audible in my opinion because it used simple text files or pdfs which are mostly free and have small file sizes.
(I’ve been formally diagnosed with Dyslexia and ADHD for context) I used to think I was good at reading in my head (I mean I was blowing through chapter books (350+ pages) in a day or so), but slow and mistake ridden when reading outloud. Until I realised while reading a chapter that had no dialogue and was incredibly “boring” in my opinion that I’m not quick at reading in my head. I skim read… yeah… let’s just say I missed a lot of plot threads… add in my short attention span (special thanks to my ADHD) and umm… fun times… *im typing this while constantly looking back and forth and my insane collection of books as I realise I’ve probably missed so much but am just genuinely not bothered to read about over 100+ books (warrior cats by Erin Hunter if curious)…*
Okay im replying to everyone saying they both have ADHD and dyslexia lol PLS LETS BE FRIENDS!!! I don’t know anyone who was diagnosed with both of them and I would love to talk to someone who can relate!!!
I’m diagnosed dyslexic and highly likely inattentive ADHD and I just had to chuckle at the paragraphs and punctuation because that’s the most dyslexic ADHD thing ever and I do it too. I ramble so much hahahah Skim reader too, too boring and takes so much energy to read it all. Screw that!
I would like to ask a question , Who absolutely cannot read a newspaper because of the way it does not finish a story , but makes you then "go find "the completion of said story on an impossible to find it again page ! This drives me bonkers, I never read a newspaper EVER
4 out of the 5 questions, yes. too late, i already graduated college with a computer science degree. good thing i learned the stuff on my own ahead of time.
even I have a Computer Science degree and i got 6/6 yes, I am kinda worried as it is getting harder for me to spell, read and speak correctly day by day.
@@jordanoytas5865 hey I got tested, and they said I don't have dyslexia, but it is happening because of excessive stress which tampers our concentration power.
I’ve never been diagnosed with dyslexia, but I’m a cashier. Sometimes when reading people their change, it could say $7.24. I see the number, get the correct change, and say “Your change is $4 and 27 cents. I mean...$7 and..” and by that time I’m so embarrassed I just stop talking. I’ve also noticed that sometimes when texting I type words backwards. I have excellent grammar, and rarely stumble over spelling or sentence structure. I just see one thing and in my brain it jumbles itself. I’m here trying to find clarity.
That's okay! I don't want to diagnose you or to self diagnose yourself but it does sound a lot like dyslexia, can you go to a doctor or somewhere to find out for certain? You might be able to get help here - betterhelp.com/authenticmentalhealth
Hi, I was so lucky to be diagnosed with Dyslexia when I was around 12 years old, and I was taught by the Dyslexia Institute in Sheffield, England, as a teenager. My Dyslexia was upsetting, but I worked at it, and I still struggle slightly even now. I've got an excellent academic degree, and, as a career, I'm part of the team running a prestigious university, working with some of the smartest people in Britain. Now, I consider my Dyslexia to be an advantage. I think about things slightly differently, which can be helpful as part of a bigger group. I use technology to help me, such as software that turns text into speech, and I also use Grammarly, which is software which finds mistakes in writing. Grammarly is superb! Please don't be concerned if you are diagnosed with Dyslexia; it might turn into your superpower!
I'm already diagnosed with dyslexia and this is a good test to figure out if you have of dyslexia. I answer yes to everything. Being diagnosed and getting accommodations in college does really help. Best video about dyslexia!👍🏽
5/6. Always had trouble in learning. I used to wonder why. I used to compare myself with my brother n sister and asked y me?! 😢 My parents knew I had issues but none of them told me that I had dyslexia. She always said im fine. But no matter how much I work I couldn't hardly see any progress. At least now I know. Thankful for that. ☺
My mom would just yell at me and tell me I'm fine. Yet I can't even play twister without thinking about which hand I write with and this is how all my essays looked like in 5th grade for example "I think I hav a problem withe my famly becuse th e ..." That's what it looked like
can i just mention how great you are for speaking slow, understandable and using your hands? i feel you really wanna help and make a clear point. thank you
I'm diagnosed with Dyslexia, Autism and ADHD and later in adulthood Schizophrenia and OCD. 😔 Life is tough... But I am happy and blessed.😊 Nothing stops me and I have become a software engineer and currently an AI engineer. It's alright. You can do it .Even I think I am extremely dumb almost always, but my doctor tells me that I can not compare myself with a neurotypical person.. it's like running freely and running with lots of burden on yourself.. Don't compare yourself with others, you got this.. ❤
what kind of help? its just your brain working differently, if your still in school system then i guess help is nice thing but when your adult like me you just live with it
May I ask u how u were diagnosed with dyslexia.amd.what age? My daughter turned 3 and she was diagnosed with it and I really wonder what to do,cause with the dyslexia they said she has ADHD as well. I am scared honestly
I actually have dyslexia and I'm glad someone mentioned that dyslexia doesn't just go away. I got help with it so I don't struggle as much, but it doesn't mean I know everything and won't struggle more. Thank you for bringing that up ❤️
Authentic Mental Health I'm doing great! Thanks for asking. I got help when I was in like middle school with a tutor. Eventually I improved and they let me go. I still stumble here and there but it's definitely a lot better. I do get picked on by others but it's not often since many don't know I have it.
@comfortdavid3213 I had a teacher in elementary school who also had dyslexia. She knew of a tutor place that helps people with dyslexia and she got me in there. Nothing with my school really did anything, she did it on her own
I just scored 4 out of 6, and I graduated college... it was hard, and I struggled. I finished though, and am so proud! I have always thought I might have dyslexia, and now I am almost certain I do.
1- Do you confuse visually similar words, such as cat and cot? 2- Do you use loose your place or miss out lines when you are reading? 3- Do you have trouble from telling left from right? 4- Do you get confused when you are given several instructions at once? 5- Do you find it difficult to find the right word to say? 6- Fo you find it difficult to read out loud?
I've been aware that I struggle to read since I was a child. My mom told me that I am dyslexic and was aware ever since I was little. I answered yes to all of the questions. I never let it stop me, my mom helped me read even when I hated it. I was taken out of class to go to reading help classes and at one point was basically called hopeless. I learned to cope on my own and I had English teachers who seemed to hate me. I am now passing my AP and honors classes and am able to write essays quickly. Even though I forget words like "offer" or other simple words all the time xD
I have multiple diagnoses including dyslexia there's not much you can do unless you been diagnosed Young speaking with a professional and getting diagnosed by professional can help you better understand
As someone professionally diagnosed with multiple learning disabilities it's wrong to claim that you have it off a RUclips video I went through months of testing and countless struggles throughout you should make videos help support the community instead of a video like this you should have been a video explaining what it is not making up a test that's not accurate now I don't mean to offend you but people claiming they have it and they don't, really undermines people that do
I actually came here because I didn’t know what dyslexia is but now i know and luckily I’m fine. For the people who have dyslexia don’t give up I know you can beat it one day
On my birthday, like two days ago, a teacher (i dont know who) pulled me out of class (not literally) and talked to me. He told me I was one of the best students ln the school. He started talking about how I'm getting less work done than the rest of the students. He asked me questions about it and i answered honestly. He said i might have a moderate level of dyslexia. im not fully diagnosed yet tho Edit: i got 6/6
I was waiting for this test to tell me I'm not dyslexic so i could laugh....cause I was diagnosed with dyslexia when i was 8... but I ended up answering yes too all of that... so I guess this test is genuine 😂.... ughhhhh
Thank you for this Video. I was diagnosed with severe ADHD, and didnt realize that Dyslexia could be associated. I scored 6 of 6 on this test. I have also scored high on Emotional Detachment tests as well. I dont self-diagnose myself, however your videos describing symptoms really helps me have a better understanding, and have provided me with more pieces of this mental puzzle. (And yes....I had to proof read this comment 5 times for typo's before posting...LOL)
I laughed when I heard all of these because it’s so true, all of it. My family also has a hard time with numbers, we have read over numbers 4-5 times so we know we got it right. I showed this to my husband and he smiled at it because he knows where I struggle.
It's funny, when I'm speaking with someone especially when its concerning professional things I have to look away and affix my eyes to something still so I can think fluidly
After a lifetime of experience. Most professionals, teachers and the general public think it is a mental illness. This keeps young people from seeking help. Illiterate, slow are examples that push people away. I have talked with teachers who believe it is a low level mental illness. Sadly. Public awareness is the best help. Thanks
1 answer: yes 2 answer: yes 3 answer: yes 4 answer: yes 5 answer: yes 6 answer: yes So do I have dislexia? My mom doesn’t even know what dislexia is how am I going to get her to make an appointment for me? My techears are very very positive I have dislexia
1. Sometimes 2. Never 3. Yes! 4. Totally 5. Sometimes 6. Not at all This is my first test, and I’m taking it because I’m a teacher and I’m suspicious about one of my students having dyslexia. The left and right thing always seemed suspicious to me but easier to survive than trouble with reading I guess. However, I didn’t know how to process the information until I saw your answer so thank you.
It's so crazy, I have had learning difficulties all my life, but the learning psychologist I saw as a child said it had something to do with being left-eye dominant and I have since met so many people that are left-eye dominant and have none of the same difficulties. Now the more I learn about dyslexia the more I realize I've been dyslexic this whole time. But because I told him I didn't mix up b and d, I was never diagnosed. I could have gotten the help I needed and done so much better.
Don't kick yourself. My opinion, all they (non-dyslexics) could do at the best (and that isn't very good) is diagnosed the "problem." You would have been branded and classified as "needling" help and be placed into a resource or special day class and given very poor educational instruction (if you are lucky direct instruction by knowledgeable and caring teacher) and never have the opportunity to finish you requirements to graduate from high school and given the opportunity to attend a local college. No, my advice: you were better off not being "discovered."
There are ways to drastically improve dyslexia. I was diagnosed when I was 6 and was able to almost reverted completely. I am now CEO of a Fintech company in the US. I can play piano, guitar, and compose music. I was also a martial arts champion. Think that Einstein himself was dyslexic and with motivation and hard work you can also excel in life.
I just want to give this guy I thanks I am very dyslexic and the way that he uses his hands to talk helps me to stay focused while listening to what he was saying.
I was diagnosed with ADHD in 4th grade. I was always in the lowest reading group in 1st-3rd grade, I don’t even try to process left and rights anymore, and I HATED PE and other sports because I would always be hit by balls instead of catching them (yeah, I said balls. Congratulations your hilarious). School got so much easier after I started taking ADHD meds and I thought this was all just symptoms of that. I love reading but it takes a lot of focus (I can read for hours with out a break). I hate writing essays. So much so, that I avoid college application essays. Any way, now I feel like I’m not actually an idiot😂
Well, long story short, I have a form of mild dyslexia. I answered 5 of 6 yes. As a child I was considered a gifted kid and was in the GATE program for a few years. I always struggled with spelling and would constantly swap letters, words, or phrases when reading, whether in my head or out loud. Always thought I had dyslexia but my mother just said I was a hypochondriac. It wasn't until my second year in college that I actually was diagnosed/helped with it by the counseler and given the accommodations. It helped me so much, even just having some extra time to take an exam helps me to relax and focus more on the actual exam and I'm able to take the time I needed to read and process the questions before answering. I would make silly mistakes like reading the questions without the "landmines" of NOT or ALWAYS. I didn't realize it until now that being confused when given a lot of information or instructions at once was a dyslexia thing. In my labs in college, my professor would say the instructions once and then expect us to just go and get things done. My classmates would immediately start working and I'd just stand there in a daze trying to process what was happening, though I suppose having others all rushing around you doesn't help with me trying to process what just happened.
My score was 5 , i just got the right and left right. I’ve always been an active child but very slow in cognitive process. But i consider myself a creative person. Now at 25, I realize i have dyslexia.
I’m not dyslexic, and I can read really really well but for some reason now matter how much I read I can’t spell TwT all the people who have the same spelling level as me are dyslexic
I was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 14 (I’m still 14). I went threw elementary school not being able to read or write (I’m using the microphone on my phone to be able to spell this). It has been really hard to learn how to live with being diagnosed. I have started high school now so it’s going to be a challenge.
I was diagnosed as a Dyslexic in 2nd grade (8 years old) but here's my answer to the questions: 1. Definitely. I will usually only notice somethings wrong if the context doesn't make sense, but even then I might not realize what just happened after rereading the same sentence a few times. 2. Yep. To fix this I'll use a visual guide. On paper it's my finger, while on the computer I'll manually highlight parts of paragraphs to sort of "narrow it down", if the paragraphs are particularly large, or the font size is too small. 3. I only managed to "fix" my left/right sense in like the middle/end of middle school (13~), and only because I managed to ingrain in my head, "I write with my right hand". On rare occasions, I might still mix the two up. 4. Yep. If you give me a bunch of instructions at once, I'll only really follow the first or last one. If you want to give me a list of things to do, you have to literally send me a list, or my brain gives up. (Was not aware this was related to my dyslexia tho?) 5. Ehhh… I'm not so sure about this one. I've got pretty good diction, I think. My brother (who is also dyslexic) definitely has this issue tho. 6. Used to. Not as big an issue anymore. I've found that a number of the inconveniences of dyslexia can be combated and beaten down thru proper practice and more practice-as long as you actually do so. A relative of mine never got diagnosed as a kid (teachers were worried about other things with him) so now that he's an adult he struggles a lot more with reading and writing. They caught my dyslexia early (helps that I was also considered "the smart kid", so the fact that I had trouble reading stuck out even more-but that "smart kid" label ended up hurting in other ways long-term…) so I got the attention I needed to deal with it, and now I do better than the average person when it comes to things like reading and writing, and am a total bookworm that also likes writing his own fiction. Now if only I had gotten proper attention for my ADD and possibly being on the spectrum… (Mom thought I was a genius, so the teachers suggesting I take special needs classes must have just been out to get me… she regrets it now, but still…) If your kids have learning disabilities and require special needs, PLEASE listen to professionals.
I used to be a high-scoring students when I was younger. Life happened which worsen my mental health. I got Covid and other physical illnesses that also may or may not contribute to my worsening memory and comprehension issues. Now as an adult, I often get scolded for making mistakes that involves memory (such as forgetting or misheard instructions). People thinks I'm not 'focused enough', 'not serious enough to do my job', or 'I use my phone too often' (which I'm not, compared to my coworkers). To be honest it's frustrating when you've tried your best, but you still expect to forget about something to the point that people starts to doubt your ability to do even the simplest tasks
I've got 5/6 I knew long before that I am dyslexic... In the meantime I speak 4 languages and just been admitted to grad school for a Master in real estate I don't even consider myself as inteligent
I scored 5. I have was told that I might be dyslexic when I was getting a mental evaluation over 10 years ago. I will talk to my primary care doctor. I am 49 years and many people assume I am lazy or not trying hard enough. That couldn't be further from the truth.
Hi 83 years old always have had this issue, but I was born in 1940 and nobody knew it was called dyslexia then because it wasn’t. I answered yes to all questions I was bullied by teachers in the religious order the taught us at school and I have a therapist now for help. I feel so much better now than I ever did.
62, astute teacher recognized and wrote on my 1 st grade repot card the clinical description of what today is dyslexia. I have noticed getting worse, still have a few years of work. I am exhausted by the condition and mostly by the comments. I too am seeking help. Thx for your comments less isolated feeling by them.
With the added years, it’s not any better maybe a little worse! I don’t read much anymore. Words are in a shit, either I can’t find it or if I get what I want to say. I had a very successful business life and now I am happy as I Can be. Thanks for sharing Karen
Love the dyslexic friendly visual hand signs there! 5/6 was yes and I got diagnosed a long time ago! Makes sense as to why I struggle with too many instructions as once!
same i was diagnose it when i was in high school like 10 years ago i always had problems and low grades in my Primary education but back then you where just called stupid by teachers funny fact is that the diagnose i got was only for 2 years as if after 2 years it would suddenly dissipater but i was out of school system sooner so i never had a need to repeat the diagnose and my score here was 100% the highest score i ever got in entire my life time :D
5 yes. I used to have difficulty with reading out loud and I still find it difficult. Rhyming words were of great help, I could just guess what's coming but when it came to reading stories out loud, I still get stuck. While reading in mind, I lose the line I was on.
5 out of 6 here. Ik just found out i have dixlexia i am 48 reading studying numbers, i only liked soort athletics and i was good. My daughter is now struggling just like i did she is 15. Now i undertake the struggles my whole life. Thank you
I got 6/6 which i havent been diagnosed with dyslexia, but i think it is quite crazy how all 6 questions described my thinking perfectly. I constantly misread words everyday, and often times forget my left and right when driving which happens all the time. But very great video, it is helpful for understanding dyslexia.
I visualize words and attach feelings to them. This cripples my use of common words but makes it easy for me to memorize medical terminology, chemistry, and other abstract literature. When I was 9yo I could spell Diphenhydramine, but I couldn't spell words with two of the same letters in succession such as in "spe(ll), le(tt)ers, and su(cc)e(ss)ion" I still struggle with this at age 32. Thank g(oo)dne(ss) for autoco(rr)ect.
Idk y I watched this cause I've known I'm dyslexic since I was 8 lol. But I just wanted to say, for my fellow dyslexiains who are struggling, I berlive in you!! When I was 10 they told me I was three years behind my fellow students but yesterday, aged 21, I graduated university with a grade of a 1st in English and Drama. It starts with berliving in yourself and accepting all the help you can get ❤️
I think i might have dyslexia but no one thinks i do,I have a lot of questions i said yes too, i got 6/6 and i took other quizzes and stuff, but idk, man no one believess me and i feel like I’m making a big deal about it.. I’ve spoke about it but yeah I’ll have to wait till I’m older...
Scored 4. I am dyslexic having had a test at university. Dyslexia is a gift, I see thing differently and sometimes it makes for funny quirks (funny memories from the 6 questions). I'm now a teacher at a prestigious international school. It should be your strength.
This is a very accurate test I would say I do actually have dyslexia. I would have to agree to make sure you get tested for it. Getting tested is quite simple but just a long process!!
I answered yes to all, and honestly I have been noticing for a long time but I'm just ignoring it. I've learned how to adapt, where I would take time to analyse what I write, type, or say. Because back then when I would speak or write, I would sound like I just had a stroke. Up till now, I'm still having difficulty telling apart left or right, reading outloud or reading by myself. The letters just go everywhere, when I'm typing however, It makes analysing the words easy for me since I learned how to adapt fast. I hate that I have to hide this because everyone around me, mocks me for my Dyslexia. I hate that my family is aware but chooses to ignore it because they don't want to be associated with someone who has dyslexia. Thank you for this, you helped me finally accept what I have~
I am dyslexic and can speak two languages (English is not my mother tongue) so don't give up in learning or reading. You'll have it (language) easier to understand from spoken word. 🤞
I have Dyslexia and I’m learning to right better and read better, and I’m learning Swedish to help, and so meny people don’t know what dyslexia is they just think it’s you read backwards (and for some people yes thet is the case) Like I have severe dyslexia and it’s hard some times. But I’m getting better 😁 Love, Sterling💜
I was diagnosed with this condition when I started middle school in the USA. I had accommodations throughout school, and now that I am in college, I feel like I need it again.
I saw comment saying 'Poor Hindu' on community post asking if they believe in god. I scrolled back to it later to see it said 'Proud Hindu' .
Amazing
Having auditory dyslexia myself, I didn't understand most of what you said, but it's great hearing this!! Recently, I've been blaming my dyslexia for everything.

It’s a gift not a disability, don’t look down on yourself for being dyslexic your mind is capable or so so much guys.

Yes...makes sense. I was just talking about people with dyslexia seeing in the mind 5 D. Makes sense for your career.

Reason I hate my dyslexia:
In theater we have to read out loud the script and most of the times the way we read it effects what role we will get. Well my slow reading time isn't painting me in the best light, no is it? xD I mess up words all the time and it's really frustrating. Like I know what the page says, I can read it just fine in my head, but once you make me read it out loud... nah. Sigh to the max level

Just had a dyslexia test to see if I can get extra time on GCSEs and I passed, which means I’d don’t get extra time. This actually pisses me off. The fact that I’m being punished compared to other dyslexic children who never tried as hard.

Typical professors.
My score was 5 , i just got the right and left right.
I’ve always been an active child but very slow in cognitive process. But i consider myself a creative person. Now at 25, I realize i have dyslexia.
3/3 But I know I already have dyslexia.
Are you seeking help for your dyslexia or getting help for it?
I am went to a special school for the. Dyslexia
I was diagnosed as a Dyslexic in 2nd grade (8 years old) but here's my answer to the questions:
(Was not aware this was related to my dyslexia tho?)
Now if only I had gotten proper attention for my ADD and possibly being on the spectrum… (Mom thought I was a genius, so the teachers suggesting I take special needs classes must have just been out to get me… she regrets it now, but still…)
If your kids have learning disabilities and require special needs, PLEASE listen to professionals.
I said yes to four questions. Am I dyslexic?
Probably
I've got 5/6 I knew long before that I am dyslexic... In the meantime I speak 4 languages and just been admitted to grad school for a Master in real estate I don't even consider myself as inteligent
When you answered 5 out of 6 questions and suddenly you’re like OMG 😱
Try audio books.
everytime I wanna say yes I doubt my self and think that I'm just over exagarating
Love the dyslexic friendly visual hand signs there!
5/6 was yes and I got diagnosed a long time ago!
Makes sense as to why I struggle with too many instructions as once!
I already know I have dyslexia. I just wanted to watch this out of pure curiosity.
What did you score?
same i was diagnose it when i was in high school like 10 years ago i always had problems and low grades in my Primary education but back then you where just called stupid by teachers funny fact is that the diagnose i got was only for 2 years as if after 2 years it would suddenly dissipater but i was out of school system sooner so i never had a need to repeat the diagnose
and my score here was 100% the highest score i ever got in entire my life time :D
thank you for speaking slowly, it helped me understand a bit better :)
5 yes.
I used to have difficulty with reading out loud and I still find it difficult.
Rhyming words were of great help, I could just guess what's coming but when it came to reading stories out loud, I still get stuck. While reading in mind, I lose the line I was on.
I always had dyslexia I don’t really care about it tho I have trouble reading books, signs i can’t spell propaly it kinda sucks
Are you getting help or do you get help for your dyslexia?

5 out of 6 here. Ik just found out i have dixlexia i am 48 reading studying numbers, i only liked soort athletics and i was good. My daughter is now struggling just like i did she is 15. Now i undertake the struggles my whole life. Thank you
I got 6/6 which i havent been diagnosed with dyslexia, but i think it is quite crazy how all 6 questions described my thinking perfectly. I constantly misread words everyday, and often times forget my left and right when driving which happens all the time. But very great video, it is helpful for understanding dyslexia.
I’m not dyslexic I was just taking the test for fun
What did you score on this test!?
Love your profile pic! Gotta love anime
Uhhhhh I answered all 6 yes 😬 me and all my friends joke around about me possibly having Dyslexia
Do you think you have dyslexia my friend?
Authentic Mental Health yeah I’ve been thinking about it for a while
same thing happened to me
Same
I knew I had dyslexia but I never realized how much it really affected daily things
You are not alone❤️ How are you? Do you follow us on Twitter or I.G? twitter.com/autmentalhealth instagram.com/authenticmentalhealth
It starts with berliving in yourself and accepting all the help you can get ❤️
I scored 4/6
Have you ever spoken to anyone before about this? Or ever got diagnosed with dyslexia?
Im dyslexic and have adhd
How does that affect your life?
It makes me unique i guess
@@ppnugget420 I have dyslexia and adhd

I CARE!
You have a way of explaining things perfectly!
Why is he talking like he's in a classroom full of toddler's :/
Because probably some who watch this video have dyslexia..(dyslexia= as he says in this video I'm to lazy to type it all)
Heidi Muqri I have dyslexia and I AM NOT SLOW AT LISTEN- in G
Scored 4. I am dyslexic having had a test at university. Dyslexia is a gift, I see thing differently and sometimes it makes for funny quirks (funny memories from the 6 questions). I'm now a teacher at a prestigious international school. It should be your strength.
I have dyslexia just decided to try this test I answered yes to 5 out of the 6 questions this test is actually correct it actually works
🤞
Yea all 6 diagnosed in 3rd grade now I'm 66 never got better
I have Dyslexia and I’m learning to right better and read better, and I’m learning Swedish to help, and so meny people don’t know what dyslexia is they just think it’s you read backwards (and for some people yes thet is the case)
Like I have severe dyslexia and it’s hard some times.
But I’m getting better 😁
Love,
Sterling💜
I was diagnosed with this condition when I started middle school in the USA. I had accommodations throughout school, and now that I am in college, I feel like I need it again.
I saw comment saying 'Poor Hindu' on community post asking if they believe in god. I scrolled back to it later to see it said 'Proud Hindu' . I feel like I answered yes to almost all questions but idk if I actually have dyslexia. Only think I know about it is from movie clips showing letters of words floating and rearranging in front of them. I don't have that but idk how accurate movie was
