Everyone wants to be viewed as strong. There is a nature desired there placed by God. The only problem is that sometimes that Godly desire is used in an ungodly way. It is important to first understand what Jesus actually meant by using the word “meek”. Meekness isn’t a weakness, it is a strength that’s under control. In order to let God be fully in control, you have to trust Him completely. In the end, meekness does have a reward and that is progress because an uncontrolled life is an unhappy life. Life can feel heavy so when you are tired of trying to gain control, Jesus is where you will find rest.
