Totally agree with you Jim about "out of control" screaming kids ruining everybody else's right to a peaceful flight! The simple reason why i don't get on planes any more or go to a restaurant either for that matter! Society cannot behave in the company of other people!
The Smoking ban is ridicules and is not workable. Like prohibition in the USA it will be forced underground, and create more crime. Don't blame Labour its a tory policy and like you mentioned its really not possible to take an opposing view. The banning of the conference in France was ridiculous whether you agree with right or left, the only way forward in any position is by discussing it.

so according to a politician the smoking law will be unenforceable , erm its just the same as the law we have now , you dont look 18 or older show me proof it just means that ppl who want to smoke will do and buy cheaper imports like they do now.
I can honestly feel for anyone flying who has the unfortunate luck of having a baby nearby, dont get me wrong as the poor little dears have to travel wherever the parents take them but the urge to drop kick them down the plane is strong, especially as most of my flights were UK to Cape Town i.e 10 + hours sometimes.

C'mon Vicky, how can you say smoking is horrible, and dont play the it can kill you card. Im a non-smoker, but there are plenty of other ways you can die prematurely. Plenty of people enjoy it. Just to clarify, 2 quick points. First, the National Conservative Conference was attended by Viktor Orban, Eric Zemmour, Suella Braverman, Nigel Farage & nearly every right wing extremist politician in Europe (apart from Andrea Meloni). Had they held it in Nuremberg, passers-by would have thought they’d time-travelled. Second, why should Brussels officials be nice to the man who inspired Brexit ?
It's not about being "nice" but about living in a democratic country as opposed to an authoritarian one. When a mayor can dictate whether a conference can go ahead just because it doesn't align with his own political point of view they're heading for a dictatorship
