Love that Dreamworks Dragon is no. 1 but wondering why they think RTTE is between the 2nd and 3rd movie. Hiccup’s father is not only in the first episode of the first season he is in multiple episodes throughout all 6 seasons. By the end of the 2nd movie Stoick was dead and Hiccup became chief, idk how they missed that.
Actually, all three of the Dragons shows take place in between the first and second movies. Riders Of Berk and Defenders Of Berk take place about a year or so after the first film, whereas Race To The Edge happens about a year or so before the second film. Still absolute joys to watch however! Definitely recommend them!
I truly loved "She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power" and all because of that amazing rebooted series its how I got into Masters Of The Universe franchise since 2020.
_Tales of Arcadia_ is *literally* the best thing DreamWorks has *ever* made. Hands down *one of the greatest animated series ever* , having amazing voice acting and music, but also being a groundbreaker with movie-quality animation and amazing serialized storytelling, which had only been relegated to live action TV prior.
I still love Trollhunters to this day! But the ending of the whole series is so sad! Also love Spirit:Riding Free is definitely something to watch if you are a lover of the 2 movies! NO MATTER YOUR AGE!😍
Honestly Trollhunters and RTTE are seriously both such masterpieces, it only makes sense that they’re the top two. Both are my literal favorite shows of all time and I’m so glad they’re getting some more recognition.
Tales of Arcadia was great until in thrusted itself into the Mariana Trench. I can name SEVENTEEN ways this entire thing could've ended better. Also, the Captain Underpants show was a dream come true. Also, also, CAMP CRESTACIOUS IS THE BEST ONE!!!
1) Dragons 2) Trollhunters 3) She-Ra 4) Camp Cretaceous 5) Voltron: Legendary Defender 6) Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts 7) Carmen Sandiego In my opinion those were the best Dreamworks Netflix Originals. The Kung Fu Panda spinoff, along with 3Below and Wizards are more like honorable mentions, still good.
Kipo, Trollhunter, and Voltron are so GOOD! I really hope Kipo(my favorite of the 3) gets a spin-off or sequel series. It deserves so much more attention!
I loved the Dreamworks films back in the day, I didn't realise they did TV series and a huge, surprised knowing about the film How to train your dragon, not knowing that they did a TV series based on it.
I always loved watching DreamWorks shows and movies, and how about doing a list about the Dreamworks franchises. By the way, I always loved watching the HTTYD series.
I love your top two picks on the list; they definitely deserved their place (and impressed by how Race to the Edge was inspired with Blindsided). Also, I want to say thank you for not including Trolls Trollstopia. I am okay with this show and glad to of seen it once, but it left out something so important that it just kills me from the inside.
So glad that all of my fave Dreamworks shows (Tales of Arcadia, Dreamworks Dragons, Voltron Legendary Defender, and She-ra & the Princesses of Power) are on this list!
I don't know how many times I've watched all 8 seasons of How to Train Your Dragon TV show. It's just sensational!!! I think it's the next best thing after The Last Airbender
*Tales of Arcadia Oaks* is one of my favorite *DreamWorks* franchises. (Not going to count the Grand Finale, *Rise of the Titans.* If you’ve watched it, you’ll understand why.)
Voltron was fine, it was the toxic fans who were batsh*t insane. Threatnening VA's and creators over ships and blaming Lauren Montgomary and Jaquim DeSantos for things that First World Productions (The IP owners) kept telling them to change. They literally had to bring back a character for "toy sales" when they wanted to keep them out of the rest of the show after season 1. As a fan of the OG Voltron from 1984 i'd say Voltron: Legendary Defenders was a much more faithful remake of the story than the other two remakes ever were.
Tales from arcada holds more nostalgia in my heart to the point that seeing Chapter 1 makes me think im 90 years old But watching legend of awsomeness makes me feel like im 500 years old. Although i remember watching it in spanish, where its called "the legend of po"
These are some of my favorites, but in no particular order. “Httyd: Riders of Berk” and “Defenders of Berk.” (Riders is the first season, and Defenders is the second. So I just put them together.) “Httyd: Race to the Edge” “Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness” “The Penguins of Madagascar” “All Hail King Julien” “The Adventures of Puss in Boots”
Even though i didn't watch most of these series (except "Penguins of Madagascar" and "The adventures of Puss in boots") i still enjoyed this video. Thanks Ms Mojo and a happy friday to You as well. God bless You and take care, see You soon.
Absolutely LOVE SPOP (if you can’t already tell from my pfp lol). The story and characters are great, but can we also talk abt the SCORE?? As a music major, I’m BLOWN AWAY by how the recurring leitmotifs (most notably the “Pomise” theme and one we call the “Childhood” theme) do just as good of a job at telling the story as the dialogue itself. I can’t listen to the soundtracks without crying. Props to Sunna Wehrmeijer.
Love The Epic Tales Of Captain Underpants, DreamWorks Dragons, Trolls: TrollsTopia and Kung Fu Panda: Legends Of Awesomeness. My cousins watch Captain Underpants all the time
It is a crime that All Hail King Julien isn't on this list. It gave so much depth to the lemurs, something tricky to do with comic relief characters, and it does it REALLY well; on top of that it has so much heart and charm 😭😭
Dragons RTTE is phenomenal. My favorite show. Each characters gets to save the day. Each one also forms special relationships to other dragons than the ones they are riding. We see a lot of new characters and dragons! It also ties well to the previous series reintroducing Johann, Dagur and Heather. I loved Heather's character development between the series, the kind of character she had become while she was away. Viggo and Hiccup interactions are something else. Love the witty back and forth, but also how they are constantly learning from one another. You can see Viggo implementing some of Hiccup's gadget's in his own operations. He even uses the fireworm lanters Hiccup invented back in the old series. Even if the other characters introduced never become permanent part of the Edge, one character whose presence always feels missing in the movies 2 and 3 is the chicken. She is a core part of the team. I totally recommend anyone to watch the show. But also to check out the old one. It's bomb too!
Technically, Riders/Defenders Of Berk takes place after the first film with the Dragon Riders are around 15/16 years old. RTTE takes place before the second film while the Dragon Riders are around 19/20 years old and they finally showed us the development relationship of Hiccup and Astrid! 😊 ❤️ 💙
I agree with this entire list, but... Where is All Hail King Julien? It has enough lore to satisfy the researchers, catchy music, a Julien that's less of a jerk and a lot of fun jokes. Not to mention the fur animation! (It ain't Zootopia, but it's still impressive)
I love watching The Adventures of Puss In Boots the most. It has some good episodes. The final episode of season 6 makes me cry so much. It's sadder than Titanic and depressing scenes in Pixar movies.
I am SO glad Race to the Edge is finally getting the recognition it deserves. That show, and the final season especially, are incredibly well done and the voice casts are perfect.
I’m honestly surprised that Captain Underpants made the list, considering how not enough people are talking about the movie or the series as much as they should. The movie is a immature masterpiece, but the show definitely captures the feel and charm of the books. Also can we all agree that Krupp is much more of a funny and like-able character in the show than the movie, it’s not that I don’t think Krupp in the movie wasn’t funny, cause he definitely was, but I also think that Krupp is definitely a funny character on the show. In fact, I could talk about Captain Underpants for hours, from how charming and funny the series is, to how they mastered the level of humor and immaturity of the movie. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie is the perfect example of kids movies done right.
Can you do top 10 episodes of Voltron Legendary Defender? Can you do top 10 moments from Tales of Arcadia along with top 10 episodes from each of it's shows?
Among my favorite dreamworks shows, I loved the kung fu panda shows, the how to train your dragon shows, Voltron, Kipo, the tales of Arcadia franchise, puss n boots, Sherman and Mr. Peabody, and personally She-ra. Dreamworks makes great shows like their movies. I haven't finished camp cretaceous, so I can't properly assess that series, but I did like what I watched from that series.

Yeah I think we're better off forgetting Rise of the Titans Plus, the ending.... pretty sure we can agree that the change that happened is gonna do more harm than good
How is it that Trollstopia didn't even get an honorable mention? It was an amazing show to watch, an amazing follow up yo Trolls and Trolls World Tour, and we got so many awesome characters and fun adventures!! It deserves to be on this list!!!
I loved She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and the How To Train Your Dragon shows. They were awesome to watch. And now I'm re-considering a few other picks in this video.
I've enjoyed several of Dreamworks' TV series, such as the Tales of Arcadia saga (I know that film finale gained mixed feedback, but still I enjoyed all the same), She-Ra, Kipo and Kung Fu Panda, but I quite agree about Dragons being no. 1! I've seen the full TV series, which is set between the events of movies 1 and 2, and it's done so well!
The Dreamwork Dragon series all took place between movies 1 and 2. The first 2 seasons took place a few months after the 1st move. While Race to the Edge took place 3 years before the 2nd movie.
*1-2 years. RTTE takes place 3 years after the events of riders and defenders. Most of the characters are 19 when RTTE ends so it can’t be more than 2 years before HTTYD 2. Somewhere between 1 and 2 years
My thoughts exactly. DreamWorks Dragons for me lines up along side Avatar Teen Titans and Gravity Falls along with some other shows in my overall top 10.
I think that Dragons Rtte, even with all the plot holes that sometimes had, is better than the movies. It makes you feel part of the group, all 6 of them have a close relationship with each one, which in the movies is reduced to Hiccup and Astrid. They don't make you understand the character of Snotlout in the movies which, in my opinion, is the best and the most human. The twins are reduced to idiots in the movies, when in reality they are perhaps the smartest of all, when they want..they are just chaotic and..well, nuts. Not to mention the characters that are introduced there, like Dagur, Heather and Viggo. Viggo, in my opinion, one of the best villains ever invented in animation. Machiavellian, intelligent, calm, sadistic, a lucid madman in essence. Dagur and Heather are a heart, they deserved to be, at least, in the third movie. And above all, the dragons! You learn everything about dragons in HTTYD world with Rtte. It's an animated TV series that deserves a lot.
I absolutely love The Adventures of Puss in Boots Also take note that the show takes place before the First Puss in Boots movie and the Shrek movies. I know it’s kind of confusing but basically it’s set after Puss is exiled from San Ricardo but before meeting Kitty Softpaws in the movie.
Httyd is my all time favorite, but I'm disappointed you got rtte's time-line placement wrong, it's between the first and second movie, it's after riders and defenders of berk
Too bad that Camp Cretaceous and Arcadia felt entirely wasted in the finale, especially the former since it was developing well a couple reminiscent to Hiccup and Astrid, only to forcefully switch it up at the last minute that felt forced thanks to sidelining and meddling writing that apparently was made at home during pandemic x/
She definitely means that it takes place between the first series and the second movie. Sucks that Camp Cretaceous only got an honorable mention but since it had two weak seasons for many (though not for me) not shocked it made honorable mention.
Dragons is an extremely fitting #1 pick! The last few seasons were so mature with the content and I loved watching Hiccup and the rest of the gang make smart, calculated decisions to counteract the villains’ moves. The ONLY bad part is, since the characters had so much development in the series, they had seriously lacking development in the Third movie for me 😂 The decisions Hiccup made in the third movie were just downright dumb, didn’t fit with his character, and the rest of the gang except for Astrid were immature beyond reason. You know a tv show did it right if I prefer their characters more than an actual film! 😅 (Disclaimer: I didn’t hate the third movie, I just have a lot of complaints because I’m a super Dragons nerd that has no chill😅)
I've seen the first 3 how to train your dragon movies , I know for a fact Stoick did pass away in movie 2...meaning the entire 8 season TV series takes place between movies 1 and 2.
My thoughts on this list 10. Haven’t seen the movie or read the book. 9. ☝️Grew up in the 90s & don’t remember this show. 8. Haven’t seen these movies yet. 7.Haven’t seen these movies yet but they are on my list! 6.Haven’t heard of this. 5. Haven’t heard of this. 4. Haven’t seen this. 3. This is on my watch list! 2. This is on my watch list too! Honorable Mentions Will definitely add these to my watch list especially Puss in Boots 1. How To Train Your Dragon is high on my watch list. Thanks for these recommendations Phoebe!

By the end of the 2nd movie Stoick was dead and Hiccup became chief, idk how they missed that.
Yh they got that wrong, RTTE was set before the 2nd
It also came out and ended before the third movie
Not to mention the final episode had details that lead up to the second movie.
Just a simple mistake
Didn’t Star Wars do the same thing with the Clone wars series?
Actually, all three of the Dragons shows take place in between the first and second movies. Riders Of Berk and Defenders Of Berk take place about a year or so after the first film, whereas Race To The Edge happens about a year or so before the second film. That along with 3 below as well. I love the extended universe.

Man so many good tv shows
Time to re-watch some of them.
What would happen if the DreamWorks Dragons of Berk shows took place outside the main continuity of the How to train your Dragon movies?
thank you, people dont really talk about the httyd series alot and it is awesome
She definitely means that it takes place between the first series and the second movie. Sucks that Camp Cretaceous only got an honorable mention but since it had two weak seasons for many (though not for me) not shocked it made honorable mention.
Absolute W for mentioning trollhunters
Trollhunters is absolutely amazing and I still love it!
I know right? It's like DreamWorks had a director change or something.
Mine is probably the Penguins of Madagascar. And while I like Monsters vs Aliens the movie, I’m not so big on the TV show.
I expected Spirit: Riding Free to be on the list but usurpingly Not a word. Spirit is number 1 for me, always has been always will be.
What about Cleopatra in Space? It’s a really good show!
Good thing that I watched every bit of some of these shows
I've seen the first 3 how to train your dragon movies , I know for a fact Stoick did pass away in movie 2...meaning the entire 8 season TV series takes place between movies 1 and 2.
My thoughts on this list
