Building an Aluminum Fuel Storage Tank

- I’ve been collecting parts to build this aluminum fuel storage tank and in this video I finally put it together. Its 1/4 inch thick plate and has a manual pump with filter. It ended up holding 75 gallons of fuel.

Great job! I think I’m gonna build one as well. Two things I’m doing differently, one is to put a drain in the bottom, the other is to put a plate on the inside bottom slightly angled towards the drain/pump end. Thanks for the video!

Good job... but you forgot to put baffles, so the fuel don't slosh around so bad
Thanks. I thought about it but I figured it wasn’t big enough to need baffles. It’s holds about 80 gallons
I would agree with the need of baffles. Anytime the tank is wider then 36inches I put in a baffle. The side to side motion of weight of 5 gallons or more is a lot of force. Other than that you did a nice job!
When ur building a box,get two sides on and put something in between to hold help prevent pulling or bowing less.
I would weld inside with that maybe.but the outside would get tig if its my personal project,no need to rush and my sh,t would look impeccable

I can agree with you on that watching your video you did do a damn good job but also I do a lot of aluminum welding myself and it's all TIG welding in your welds look like they're kind of cold with the spool gun.

Why y not go with the electric fuel pump ?
I might in the future but for right now I prefer not having to fart around hooking it up to a battery. The manual pump was also cheeper
