Considering the design and price, it's a piece of good looking toy. For those who are still complaining about "where are the detailed image quality tests"... just go and buy the S Line lens...
nice for Z-mount users to have the lens without an adapter, though i don't think the lens is much sharper than the 50mm f/1.4 non-AI, having used it recently
Thanks Jimmy very interesting. This is exactly what I wanted on my z7ii - but if they did a Nikkor 20mm that would be fantastic or even the 18mm even better! 😊 I had an old Ai 20mm and 18mm on a Nikon dslr which I loved. I wish Nikon would release more wide small cheap primes or ARTALAB will make more manual small primes based on old Nikkors. They have done a great job with the 35mm
Hi Jimmy, have you thought of getting a Z to F adapter (not the ridiculously expensive Nikon one) and trying some actual Nikkor lenses? I've got a K&F one which I think was about £20 and a 1960s 50mm f2, the original scalloped focusing ring and chrome filter thread design.
Personally it’s the added size and weight due to the extra distance required for the z when using an f-z adapter on old f lens. I find it defeats the object of a small balanced prime. This Artralab idea is fantastic being a direct mount - I hope they do well and produce more options 😊
You did a review of this lens. Thanks. Haven't seen it before now (been on holyday). The image quality doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. That is nice. But it being a fully mechanical lens (no electronic), how does it function with a fully modern electronic mirrorless camera? Any caveats to look out for if one buys one of these lenses?
Yes, I am. Beside my jobs and normal dealings with OM and M43 in general, I am also a camera collector and general hobbyist (to play with them), so I don't have any affiliation with other formats, only for fun. Like most pros, we have different cameras for different purpose ;)
@@Red35Photography I understand you completely Jimmy! The same here! I use Nikon, Panasonic and OM. But I use MFT 90% of the time. I just asked because it seems to me that many Ambassadors are not renewing with OM. I was curious if it was the case. I’m very happy with the OM system. I do consider the OM-1 excellent and the new lenses are wonderful, specifically the 90mm Macro and the 150-400mm. I’m really hoping to see more interesting products, specially (like you) the PenFii. Cheers!
Yeah I thought that was interesting too. His English is otherwise absolutely sterling, like perfect diction. Which is good, because this is a wonderfully presented video. Still, it might be a bit rude to remark on unprompted.
In Image Quality Test, where is the Image?? In Sharpness Test, you use a rough wall for Sharpness Test?? Do you get too much money from Artra Lab to avoid telling the truth??? Shame on you!
Now Why? Would I get these lenses for my Nikon APS-c models as they are for the Z mount??? Please tell my WHY?? I Prefer the Nikon F MOUNT as I am using my Old and say again OLD 50 to 60 old Nikkor manual focus Nikon lenses. I find that my Nikkors re still holding the sharpness, contrast, and the clarity in photographing an Image. Also that my Nikkors were MADE IN JAPAN!! Not a 3rd party lenses that are made in China... Oh Yea your Video (D-) and drink Decaff OK, it is bad enough that I have to watch a person talking fast, and does not express the true favorite in the love of photographing than using showing us again another CHEAP Lenses that is better than my Nikkor line - Look if it is not broken USE IT.... Why should I spend more $$$$$ Money for a new lens line in which I am happy in the current line that I am using...

imaging nikon putting out a full frame zfc... jimmy uncle would be crying in happiness
You bet I will hahaha
Well they just did. :)
❤lovely Nonikkor35
Oh yes, my favourite on the Z-fc for sure!
Outstanding review! Such an informative video, you definitely sold me on these lenses.
I'd like a new review seeing it on the full frame ZF

Looks perfect with Nikon Zfc
Thanks Joey!
Hi, SOB Joey!
Good to see you here!
Artra Lab lens copy from Pergear and the quality is Really Suck!
I tried it!
makes me wanna buy the 80s version - thank you for the video :)
Thanks for this. I wonder what the minimum focus distance is, and how they perform on a full frame body…

No, but I have another adapter that I am reviewing, which turn any M-mount lenses into auto focus on any Z cameras :D

This lens looks more Nikon-esque then the original Nikon 28mm
is it full frame of aps-c lenses?

No Redhot chat this week?.... but I'm addicted...:(
Nice, thanks! Please review some more Z Artralab lenses. I’m assuming that no aperture data is added to the photo exif list?
That's right, the lens is full manual and no electrical contacts at the mount.
@@Red35Photography Thank you!
Wondering how these look on the Zf now.
Hi Jimmy. Thanks for this take of Artalabs' Nonikkor lenses. Curiously, is it weather sealed?
Nah it's not.
Which of the two do yall think is best for ZF?
Loved the video Jimmy, but shouldn't the title be "made me BUY a camera"...?
I bought one, to support the design by Hong Kong people 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Jimmy, do You Continue to be a OM Ambassador?

Is this macro lens? MC stands for macro right?
Multi coated. On the front lens, for better contrast.
Why not both 😂

Nearly 12 minutes of infomercial. Well done
