You’re such a lovely team! I think it’s very sweet that Mr B is so dedicated and patient. Sometimes when I’m plein air painting my husband will bring a book along and sit while I paint. It’s wonderful to have the support. ❤
Thank you for putting the scene in the corner. It really makes a big difference to the viewers. We appreciate all the effort that goes into producing these videos.
I found the thumbnail photo of the subject in the top left hand corner sooooo useful as Clare was talking, I could see exactly what she was referring to. Super duper result, very sorry for you and Mr B struggling with the conditions ❤
there is poetry in this art, no fuzz, just wonderful joining of the parts so they end being greater than the sum. Congratulations and thank you, I have learned indeed.
Your new “setup” is a success for the viewer. We were able to see the process you use to mix your paints and your thoughts as you articulated them. I wonder how you enjoyed having the mixing palette next to the piece instead of down below. Beautiful painting….you captured the subject very well.
@@ClareBowenArtist yes, absolutely! There are a few who I really like such as James Gurney. But he’s not necessary a plein air painter, he’s just super skilled overall. But, I’ve enjoyed watching you paint, your process, your locations, and think it’s definitely a great way to go. This week looks good weather wise to go get painting outside. I use water-based oils so getting caught in the rain, which has happened to me, is not good. Anyway, it’s nice having someone such as yourself to watch and learn from. Thank you!
Wow Clare, you are such a trooper! I was starting to shiver right along with you. Kudos to you for finishing and thanks for sharing your time and talents with us.
Superbe vidéo 😍 , j'ai eu froid pour toi en la regardant bien au chaud avec une tasse de thé !!!! , Pour aller peindre dehors j'attendrai le printemps que les températures soient plus clémentes ! 😉
Thank you Supernova! Sometimes these winter days the light can be sublime but it was the wind chill factor and the exposed area caused the problem!📽👏❤️
Having the thumbnail of the subject of your painting is such a helpful idea and I particularly liked the fact that you had your pallet placed next to your canvas. It's so helpful to watch your colour mixing which is vitally important. Well done to you both for braving the cold and cumbersome wind!
Hello Clare, wonderful result. I still love your seascapes with their blue and red boats. What courage you both have to brave the cold and the wind for us. The seagulls had made an appointment to accompany you today! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you Richard! Having the palette vertical unfortunately does restrict the size of canvas. Hope you liked the thumbnail in the top left hand corner! 😍
Fantastic video but gosh it looked like you were having a tough time in the cold wind. Glad you managed to get through it to finish your painting, which is beautiful 🤩 What a gorgeous place as well.
Well done Clare. You looked and sounded frozen! I know that harbour well and winter is a good time to do it as it’s so packed in summer! You transported me there with the seagulls. Really enjoyed it.
I think we were all shivering with you on that one! Lovely painting ☺️….I’m going to be staying in St Ives later in the spring. Such a beautiful place.
Great video in less than easy conditions. Well done. Like others I particularly found seeing your pallet and mixing process really, really helpful together with the thumbnail photo. Do you wipe your brush after almost every stroke &/or how often do you wash it in spirit? thank you so much for doing these videos they are brilliant
Hi Clare I try not to wash my brush in spirit as I go along as I don’t want it thinning my paint. I wipe if I’m changing colour with it. Or I’d swap brushes. So pleased my videos are helpful! Thank you for watching 💕🎨
Congratulations on making it through the chill and wind. Are you pleased with the paint being beside the canvas? Was there any glare? I have the same plein air gear and really happy with it.
Wow. I felt for you both battling the elements like that. Thanks for persevering and making a great painting and good instruction. You and Nick make such a good team with a lot of humour thrown in. Also like your new set up - will you continue your vertical paint mixing? Please tell us more about your plein air live online course.
Thank you Skass! It was tough going but pleased you found it helpful and liked the painting! Not sure re vertical paint mixing 🙃 can be tiring on the arm and shoulder! The plein air live online course - are you referring to the one in March organised by plein air from America? 📽👩🏻🎨😊
Hi Clare, watched you painting at St Ives, the blue boat in the wind! You mentioned painting with you and I wondered about that? Is it a formal tutorial or were being friendly ...... I'm a long way from Cornwall but.....? Andrew ( bob)
Hi Bob, I was thinking about the workshops we are running. I didn’t know if you’d be interested in that? But I’m not against having a paint too! Best wishes, Clare 🎨
Wow. That was something, Claire and Mr. B (because he had the camera and did a great job). Hats off to both of you! You'll look at this painting and remember what it was like when you did this painting!
Such a wonderful event! Thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure, Sally, thank you!❤️

Thank you Dan! Mr B worked on that and hoped it would happen!📽😊❤️
Plein air painting should be an extreme Olympic sport! Awesome painting! Wish I could hop over the pond and paint with you...maybe one day! ❤❤❤
Thank you Cindy! Indeed it can be extreme and never stress free or hardly ever! You know you would be very welcome! 👩🏻🎨🎨😍
I can't get enough of Clare and Mr B. Whom, by the way, needs no introduction.
Thank you Roy! That made us titter! 😁👏❤️
Thank you Clare and Mr B for the wonderful demo. I am just learning about what you do and love it xx

Thank you for your comment Carl! The ‘new setup’ was really not practical for me to work with and we didn’t continue with it! Sorry! 👩🏻🎨🎨❤️
This was, without a doubt, one of the most relaxing and fantastic painting videos I have seen in awhile! Excellent work! I love this piece!
Thank you so much David, kind words! 📽👩🏻🎨🎨♥️

Great effort Clare and Mr B. Not very nice conditions but you stuck it out. I like your new setup, good to see everything laid out, perfect.

Felt like I was breathing right there alongside. Visceral experience.

Same. I was worried about the breathing. Beautiful painting. Thank you.
Hope it didn’t distract too much from the demo! 😳❤️

Hi Dale I was pleased with the canvas and painting, it was turned away from the sun so it wasn’t glarey. Glad you got the same setup it’s good eh?
Hi Clare please could you let me know the make of your easel it looked really robust and perfect for plain air painting
Hi Jeff it’s called a Day Tripper easel by prolific painter. It is really nice to use! Although my tripod and head it quite heavy to carry.
Hi Clare. Can you tell me the store you went to, to get equipment for your plain air “pallet holder and tripod” thank you❤
Hello it’s called a palette garage from great art tools USA 🎨😊

Hi Stu, it is not a Strada easel but one called Daytripper by Prolific Painter.😊
