    Thanks! Your video saved me a few hundred bucks. I have the R3A, it is procedure is almost the same as the Bessa R - only the screw placement is different. The screw is the biggest one in the bottom right corner. I only have R3A, but I think R2 R3, and R4 are the same since they share the same body design.

      what was the tool you used to get to the adjusting screw? I was able to get the hot-shoe off with my precision screwdriver set but it was too thick to enter the hole to get to the screw.
      Many thanks in advance!

    Thank you for the helpful video.
    I watched this video and tried to do the same adjustment on my Bessa T. Yet I did not find the holes intended for the rangefinder adjustment.
    Is Bessa T designed differently? In that case, how can I access the vertical adjustment?

    Dear Sir, I ve been told by the Voigtländer official service in Germany that they cannot adjust the vertical misalignment of my Bessa's T rangefinder (they don't generally service T models anymore). Do you happen to know how this can be done or who could do that in Europe? 1000 thanks for your time and your great videos!

    Nice video but I was wondering how do you adjust it on horizontal? I got this brand new, out of the box, Bessa R and when I focus to infinity I actually have to focus somewhere near the 10meter mark to achieve focus in rangefinder. At the infinity mark si slightly off ( not in focus ). :(

    • @adrianmihoc2816
      @adrianmihoc2816 2 года назад

      I had the chance to attach 2 other M39 lenses ( Industar 61 L/D and a Jupiter 8 ) and somehow, with this 2 russian lenses the infinity focus is exactly where it should be. Perfect focus on both horizontal and vertical. But when I attached the lens that came with the body ( Voigtlander 50mm f1.5 aspherical ) the infinity focus on horizontal si just not there ( slightly to the right ) :(
      Any insights on how to fix this?
      I would really like to use the body with the voigtlander lens instead of those 2 russian ones :( ( they are both great lenses tho )

    are these actually safe to acquire? like are they going to have issues with failing electronics or anything that just ends them?

    • @aredesuyo
      @aredesuyo 3 года назад +2

      The only electronic thing in a Bessa R is the light meter. I own one that I purchased new in 2006, and it still works perfectly.

    • @booki000
      @booki000 3 года назад +1

      the A versions have an electronic shutter. So that could be prone to failure, but I am not sure how often that happens. The cameras are not that old, and I haven't actually heard of that many problems caused by the shutter itself. And I also think it is still more repairable than a Contax G for example. So just keep that in mind, when investing in a body of an "A" version.

      @@FixOldCameras Great! I know that the horizontal alignment is relatively straight forward, but I haven't found anywhere how to adjust the vertical alignment, which tends to often and easily get bumped out of alignment on these cameras.
