@@hudsonrenniewrites will be interesting to see what happens with all of the new changes. But I think you can still add a personal perspective to a story about a celebrity. Time will certainly tell.
👉I brushed past this in the video, but Medium operates on the 80% rule - meaning 80% of your income will come from 20% of your articles. So, if you write 8 articles per month, 1 or 2 will account for the vast majority of your earnings. I like to think of each article as stepping up to bat and hoping to hit a home run. Also, over time, as your library of content expands, you’ll continue to earn more money from articles you’ve written in the past. This will feed reads to your new articles, creating a beautiful water wheel of money, personal validation, and writing motivation. 🤓💪💰 What would you like to see next? 🙂👇
Agreed! I already see this is the case (most of my articles have made less than a dollar but others are doing really well), but thanks for the confirmation.
Thanks for your tips, Hudson! I started on Medium on 3 Feb, and I've made $42.20 and counting (one post has made $28.72 in four days and counting). I'm mostly sharing writing tips to other newbies on Medium. I'm flabbergasted to see the metrics rise so quickly.
Thank you! I've been writing all my life, but mostly not for money, and I am just now looking into possible ways I can do that. Your video was one of the most informative and engaging I've seen. Thank you again.

So helpful. Thank you. I’ve been reading randomly instead of focusing first on people who have responded to my articles. No idea why I never thought of this. This is reassuring that it will build up to more money too. Right now I’m at $1. 😜
Yes! Especially now with the new algorithm, engagement within your network really helps. Hopefully, it will help turn that $1 into $10 by next month. 🤓🤞🙌

Hello Hudson, can you create a detailed playlist covering everything from creating a Medium account to blog writing and publishing, including stories..
Yes! That's a great idea. It's funny, I've actually been planning to do exactly that. I'm just working on one last video and then I'll make it. I'll post the link via a community post once it's done. 🙂🙌
I genuinely don't understand why this video doesn't get more views (it also applies to all videos he uploads about Medium, honestly): there's a LOT of people who love writing and wanting to make money with it, so I don't get why there's not more people talking about this. I mean, I bet there's people moving from Quora to Medium, ain't it?
I appreciate you! I think Medium is still a relatively niche website, but it’s definitely gaining more mainstream popularity. 💪 And, I’m with you, I would also like more people to come watch my video. 😆 🙏

That's awesome! I only made $1.00 in my first month, so you're off to a great start already. And, haha, that's good to hear. I spend a lot of time trying to edit it out. 😌🙏

Hey Hudson. Thanks for making this helpful video. You have given me new hope for writing more often on Medium. What if I want to earn $4000+ on Medium, do you know how to get there?
That's great to hear! And, I've never had a month that high, but I know some writers have. To be honest, that would be quite high to earn on Medium consistently. Most full-time writers sell courses or have multiple streams of income outside of Medium. 🙂💰
Hudson, have the new changes affected your earnings at all? I’ve heard several writers complaining recently about significant drops in their revenue, and I’m starting to wonder whether Medium is worth it… Any advice?
I have, actually. 😢 This month is really low but it seems as though my new stories are still earning about the same. I think it has to do with how older stories are being distributed which would explain why it's long-time who are seeing decreases. I'm going to experiment for the next few months and see how things pan out when everything settles.
