I would classify Rangely, Colorado as a food desert. Locals go to Utah to shop if they can.
I do know a few guys who eat Vienna sausages when camping, but a lot of us react with disgust.
I see Dollar Stores as one of the few places you might get food in a "food desert". Not much if any fresh produce, which is problematic.
