I was in charge of a lab of 16 Next machines and about 30 Macs back in ~1993. They all had Mathematica on them and it was fun. Thanks for posting this. I've got to get back into this.
A nice free alternative to Wolfram is "Maxima Forge": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxima_(software) It's not as good as Wolfram but it can still do a lot of the basic functionalities needed the way Wolfram can, like integrals, matrices and ODEs.
My Raspberry Pi 5 ->(terminal) was about 20% slower than my M1 Macbook Pro ->(using the desktop app). Most of the slowdown is because of the desktop app being slow to display. However, The 5 still performs super well.

i stopped using Wolfram when the licensing fees - not the purchases, but just continued support - reached $44k for my libraries.
That Wolfram logo looks so cool
Wolfram is such a great name to start. Sounds like a heavy metal band name - oh no, that's the real last name of the founder! 🐺🐏

Being able to run Mathematica on a RPi is amazing. Can’t wait to see how it performs on RPi 5.
