- Who will be the big bad for season 4 of the boys. Now I know what your thinking but homelander is the main villain of the boys and that's true but think about it every season of the boys has had homelander and another main villain first season had homelander and madlyn stillwell, second season had homelander and stormfront and the third season had homelander and soldier boy and also a bit of gus fring, so who's the second bad guy of season 4. So for this we do have a few options first option is ofc neumann who basically took stan Edgar out of the plot last season, another good option is Ryan who sided with Homelander, or maybe one of the new superheroes they introduced could step up and be a real threat but I think the best option is none of the above I think for this season homelander should be the definitive bad guy cuz every season of the boys has felt like an insurmountable fight for butcher and the boys and I think this season they should have homelanders mistakes catch up to him cuz unlike before no one is there to protect his image like edgar said last season. homelander has been built up over the last few seasons and this season is the perfect time to see Homelander go nuts and that answers

Sage is definitely the second big bad of this season based on the first 4 episodes
Homelander thinks Sister Sage was talking about him being compared to Caesar that would swoop in and be the savior but I think it will actually be her

Season 3 Soldier Boy wasn't really the villain. He got went on a vengeance rampage against his own team plus wanted to kill the Homelander. Season 3 the actual secondary villain was Victoria Newman plus Stan Edgar

Why are people acting like butcher is a hero? The point theyre making is that the absolute worst of both sides human and super are going against each other.

I'd say its cause he is a lot less crazy compared to the comics. What you say beautifully describes what happens in the comics, with Butcher and Homelander (more like Noir) being the absolute worst.
But the series did give Butcher a lot more depth, and valid reasons for his ways.
All that easily makes people ignorant to the fact that he's still absolutely fucking devious.

Homelander being the true main villain of Season 5 is probably what they’re gonna do. Oh and the fact that it will most likely end in Butcher finally killing him.
Since next season is the last one, that’s prolly the season he’ll be the definitive big bad.

In Season 1, it wasn't really Homelander and Madelyn. It was more of Homelander and A-Train, he was like Hughie's Homelander

Season One villain was definitely A Train
It's looking like Sage is the next big bad. She's is by far the biggest influence on other characters since this season started (other than the main characters) she coerced a political riot, she tricked Starlight into beating up Firecracker on live TV, she's using these events to influence Victoria into becoming a supe President who's in Homelanders pocket. She's pretty much made the rest of the villains, especially Homelander, many times more powerful than they already were in terms of social and political power as well as overall giving them a more solid plan on what to do
I was so excited when Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been announced. I thought he would be the main villain: Tek Knight.
A lone wolf Batman-ish hero, bringing justice in his own way, not part of Seven, no super power but super intelligent using an armored tech suit with gadgets.
But man, not only they wasted the actor in a small role but ruined Tek Knight in Gen-V.

I'm thinking this season is "Homelander breaking out." He's ramped up the psycho, but it's still in check, kinda, because the court of public opinion is still in his favor.
End of this season is going to see that approval tank as we tip over into the final season.
So, this time around, we're going to see someone trying to step on his nuts and try to be the new big fish. He's going to flip his shit, and our cliffhanger is going to be "Homelander unchained."
Maybe he symbolically kills his mirror self, maybe he finally gives in to cutting down a group of people that are criticizing him.
I'm just confident that we've got one more season of him being knocked down a peg, with a "no fucking way" waiting at the end of the last episode.
I think this season is about everyone turning back on homelander and while he fights his humanity he will come to the conclusion eben supes are below him. Sage betrays him, atrain betrays him and aquaman ... yeah...
So maybe this season is about building up a final season 5 where everyone has to group up to defeat a homelander that got totally out of control.

Don't know about S4 but it'll all pretty much end with both Butcher losing it to the worm inside his head Vs Homelander losing it to a mental breakdown. A nothing barred gory, brutal duel to the death as they both promised each other. Would be cool if they did it in town like Superman vs Zod killing hundreds.

the moment you put Homelander as THE villain, then the show will, as either they won't be able to top it, or they'll show him he door. it would ruin the dynamic. when they decide on a final season- THEN he becomes alpha villain.
