A question on the initial snare sixteenths: how do you manage dynamics? I tried it, but if you only have a general crescendo, the drumming feels very flat. I feel there is some dynamics within the same quarter, maybe an accent going on each fourth sixteenth, but I'm not sure about it.
I agree with you, i'd say by the time you get to count 3 on bar 22 you should start accenting the first semi-quaver of each group. So, trying to put it into text, it would look something like: [bar21] 1e&a, 2e&a, 3e&a, 4e&a; [bar22] 1e&a, 2e&a, 3(accent)e&a 4(accent)e&a; [bar23] 1(accent)e&a, 2(accent)e&a, 3(accent)e&a, 4(accent)e&a; [bar24] 1(accent)e&a, 2(accent)e&a, 3(accent)e&a, 4e&a; [bar25] CRASH! Sorry, it's hard to type what i'm thinking but i hope you get what i'm trying to say.
Do you mean right at the beginning? I'd say to use the 4 empty bars at the beginning to get your 1,2,3,4 right by watching the bar dividers then you'll be on point for the first crash on 1 when you get to bar 5. Easier to show how to do this in person, for sure.

Vielen dank. Thanks. Nice drum
