The more shocking point is that there is no way to initiate a proceeding against Congressional misconduct. Republican congressman and women passed a vote to allow the placement of a man who was the former Trump tax lawyer to be in charge of IRS tax counsel. That is blatantly acting in the interest of Trump and not the interest of the United States. That is definitely misconduct.

While I know Trump needs to be ousted from office, there's no way the Leader in the Senate is going to let Trump be convicted if Trump is impeached in the House. The only sure way to eliminate the treat Trump represents as POTUS is to let him feel the sting of utter defeat at the polls in 2020.

John Swofford : Disagree. Impeachment proceedings, “should,” put everything into the public domain. Everything that matters, that is. The Tax Returns, the full Mueller Report, and testimonies from the the whole family and all the other players; good bad and ugly. For a senator to find Trump, “innocent,” of, “high crimes AND misdemeanours,” in the face of compelling, irrefutable PROOF of Trump’s greed, idiocy, criminality and utter treachery and stupidity, would be to put their own neck into the noose; if not with their voters, there’s still Obstruction of Justice? There HAS TO BE a tipping point? Or, America is a dictatorship. He’s not kidding about suspending the 2020 elections, you know . . .

Yes, possibly. It might even be a voluntary submission to pay tax on a "substantial interest amount" to give the impression that there is a large sum which may or may not exist. Would confirmation of the payment of tax on interest of say 20% on a fictitious $50M - an outlay of $10M to the IRS, be enough to convince the banks that he had upwards of $500M stashed away, let's say in an overseas account when there might have been nothing. It's not the type of story that the banks willingly publicise - perhaps resulting in him moving to the next un-witting lender until he'd taken them all for large amounts. Yes, of course you'd think there'd be some co-operation between them - but it was mainly in the eighties. When that particular well runs dry where do you go after that ? - seriously, where do you go after that ?

Ten years later 1933 one of them , an eloquent yet not always trustworthy speaker , was democratically elected chancellor of entire Germany. If I were a president I would certainly install people whom I could trust. Way back in 1923 three armed friends tried , by a coup , to topple the Bavarian government but failed and one of them was badly wounded. Ten years later 1933 one of them , an eloquent yet not always trustworthy speaker , was democratically elected chancellor of entire Germany. He then installed his two friends respectively as minister of culture and propaganda , Joseph Goebbels and the wounded companion as minister of defense: Hermann Goering.
