I can see the stacks being alright for a dyno session with hood up and fresh air being blown in but I think I'd prefer a ram air type setup for real driving vs. pulling in hot engine air. I supercharged my S54 w/meth so irrelevant to me, just my thoughts.
@@latuba2478 I have a level 2 supercharger system with meth injection and unless you get into it you would think it is stock for daily driving, haven't touched the motor's internals at all and all has been good for 2 years of hard driving
Clearly you have no idea how dynos work. The open hood together with that big fan mimic airflow that would be generated if the car was actually in motion.
@@beerustheblack2846 It cools the radiator. Stock intake is behind the left headlight. With open intake and the hood down it will suck hot air from the engine bay and make a lot less power than stock. I hope you ger it now you fucktard
Curious. Wouldn't it be better to have the circuit boards rest on non-static materials? Those metal surfaces can have static electricity which can possibly damage the circuits. From what I remember building computers, we always used special cloth-like materials. Little shocks are like nuclear explosions to circuit boards and chips. That M3 looks amazing. I so want another one in my future. I like how you modded it. Tastefully done, keeping the OEM look, no crazy loud exhaust. Classy!!
As soon as he put all those pieces on the windscreen and no protection mats on the sides and headlights could do more TLC for such an immaculate looking car.
2005 M3 Owner checking in. First let me say just plain Gorgeous German Machine 👊 A couple of questions if you don’t mind. How does this conversation effect Smog in your state? In addition with me living in Cali, I would assume this conversation would be a no go for Smog 🤷♂️ Also what CSL Trunk are you running and what exhaust? Finally, why run a hood with that gorgeous werk of Art 😁👍 Danka Bryan
Amazing car! As cool as they are those velocity stacks and filters are they look like they belong on a 1960s carbureted Ferrari or a Cosworth DFV or something like this, not a more modern M3. Prefer the look of the large carbon airbox of race prepped M3s
@@Desideratus21 pretty quick, those cars already stock are pretty fast for only 271 whp I imagine that the 317 it makes now feels way better and faster, me and my buddy used to have a boosted 97 civic and that thing made 350ish to the wheels and would. Beat just about anything on the street as far as normal sports cars and muscle cars go
@@UltimateKlasse yeah the sock filters look rubbish, you either fit them down onto the stack so that only breathe through a small section, or leave them hanging off and they get sucked flat. I'd want to use a proper ITB sausage filter with a backing plate and reinforced dome.
Roberto Prado my car may be an exception, but it made more than cars with a csl airbox. (Besides an S54 swapped E30 & E36) The only CSL equipped 46 M’s that made more than mine had upgraded cams.
Ivan Luizov in real conditions the car is moving too remember. Always run your car on the dyno with hood open and multiple fans to imitate real world conditions. Hope this made sense
Lovely setup! Few questions: - Any drawbacks in that solution vs a carbon intake? - You no longer have a IAT sensor right? - What exhaust are you running? - Are those OEM CSL rims or replicas? Thank you
Drawback is probably heatsoak although never noticed any significant signs of it, but I can’t imagine it wasn’t present. IAT is located on the heatshield. SCZA exhaust. OE ZCP wheels.
Daniel Wagener what are some easy mods to run? I’m still replacing things to get my car to near original condition but looking to add on once it’s back to running normal. (Got it cheap and the previous owner, I’m convinced, used it for a parts car).
Best M3 I ever saw on RUclips, in my opinion best color, wheels, stance and not to mention CSL conversions.....bavarian perfection from Munich!

This is hands down the best dyno run on youtube
One of the best looking and performing NA M3s I've come across. Very nice 👌🏽
Wow! One of the cleanest e46's out there for sure! Really makes me want those stacks :)

It is getting a Karbonius CSL airbox this year.
How are these cars after modifying, I’m sure they’re fast but the other aspects of the car
@@latuba2478 I have a level 2 supercharger system with meth injection and unless you get into it you would think it is stock for daily driving, haven't touched the motor's internals at all and all has been good for 2 years of hard driving
Was going to say CSL intake
So you mount the new sensor into the idle air rail? Interesting
5:26 - the auto generated subtitles says: (music) - damn right its music! 💪
Haha!
Soooo clean!! Sounds amazing!!
Nice power. Clean car. Great work sir
What a beautiful car
damn that thing is CLEANNN AF!
what a surprise it made higher numbers with open intake and hood while a giant fan blows on the front

That's one awsome ride, i don't need a ferarri or a 760LI , give me a M3 and im the happieest man ever :D
Awesome E46, but those rough filters doesn’t remove much dust from the air. How long will that engine last?
It's a dyno queen
Good job ❤️ more videos please
Beautiful
Love your car
Thanks
The filming of the install gave me a headache, with all the out of focus......
agreed. would have been better quality with auto-focus.

OEM CSL trunk and SCZA exhaust
how much of total , i have z4m (2006)from New York , if price is good , I will think about it,
Car looks fantastic! What wheels/sizes are you running?
Where do you get the snorkel that connect to the end of the stock intake?
Sidelights on the indicators?
Damn that's one long 4th gear
What make you used the CSL bumper? Looks fresh and sexy car mate. Keep it like that.
The bumper is typical replica
Very nice car beautiful machine
Where did you get ur csl trunk ?
Thanks, bought used - it’s OE trunk
What model is this car?
Could I do this to an e46 325 ci? Also do you need the air intake still? Can't seem to see
my guy lost horsepower for this sound.... worth it

Thanks. Karbonius CSL airbox is actually on the way, there is a follow-up video coming out later this year 👍
Very clean setup Dan! Car should be much quicker with almost an extra 100 hp! My serious question is why only 9 extra TQ’s?
Rusty Zipper why how quick should it be for a car with 320whp?

Awesome sound. Is this car catless? Do you need to go catless to get a sound similar to this? Thanks!
Axel Davis yeah it’s catless
Nice video! May I ask where you ordered the custom filters? I have the same kit and I need filters for. Thanks !
I’ll sell you mine. Email me Daniel.wagener@gmail.com
I think he put it in the description
Nice vid Dan. If you need any help with editing, let me know.

I'd want to put some proper filtration on it, rather than just the mesh. Might find it even picks up some power that way
Had sock style filters on before and it lost a ton of power (it couldn’t breathe)

Ayyyye
What's the point without giving the pre mod dyno numbers?????
You probably missed it. Stock was 278whp/225wtq
WAIT..... is that m3 AWD???????, or why are the front wheels moving on the dyno 😳
Is this awd? 😱
How much awhp on mustang dyno?
No it’s RWD… just ran in AWD dyno mode. 321whp
DID YOU MAKE ANY HP ??? NUMBERS PLEASE
simonxark Numbers are in the video 321whp/234wtq
Daniel Wagener isn’t the s54 320 stock anyways?
Mohamed Abdelhalim 333hp to the CRANK (stock)... and they typically make around 275hp to the WHEELS on our dyno.
@@UltimateKlasse so about 365 crank hp now?
ErikT595 yeah 360-370 crank
Did the car have exhaust and/or headers during this video?
Roberto Prado manzo headers & scza muffler

Wouldn’t it be easier to just add stickers for HP?
234 wtq? What is this
What’s the question?

2 J Z yeah, torque measured at the wheels. Our dyno reads lower than most, this torque number is pretty standard for S54’s (on our dyno)

vxlgsi power.
The induction sound.

Isn’t stock hp for that car 333?
To the crank yes. Typically on this dyno a stock one will be around 275whp

320hp ?? 🤔 at wheels I hope
Yes to the wheels... around 360-370 crank
Oh I get it.
Awd? Hahahaha wtf
