This is great! It also worked with my playback problems: the soundquality of playback kept on hopping from two seconds clear sound to muffled for the rest of the track.
If after changing these settings, it fixes Audition but knocks out other audio programs, go back into Audition, Settings, Audio Hardware and change Device Class to WASAPI
