Bought a brand-new 2025 Jeep Compass Latitude on December 14, but noticed an unusual noise shortly after. Took it to the dealer on December 20, and it’s been sitting there ever since. Turns out the drive wheel axle needs to be replaced, but the parts won’t be available until January 6. The worst part is that I needed the car for an out-of-state move for work. Really disappointing experience so far.
Been driving a Compass Red edition for 2 years. Nothing but praise for the car. It has not been to the dealer once…. Can’t say that about my Toyota, Honda or Ford.
My Prius hybrid battery died at the 10 year mark, replacement was $1500-$2k 6 years ago. I did not replace instead went to full electric and best choice ever made.
Why are they comparing this to a Rav4 Prime and CRV? Aren’t those in an entirely different segment? I always thought the Cherokee (RIP) was the direct competitor to those.
When I worked at enterprise the compass really felt like a rental car, they’ve really upgraded these in the last 3/4 years. If they could get the reliability down like some of the Gen1s this would be one of the best selling cars in the US.
Studded winter tires ---- you guys haven't mentioned the major disadvantage: damage to the road. It is the reason some provinces in Canada has disallowed studded tires. Ed So
This Jeep is for sure a fleet vehicle, and for the folks who show up not being able to afford the Grand Cherokee or a Wrangler. You can polish a turd but it’s still a turd. I did learn something new… I’ve never heard of doing that to your tires.
Then build something better! Ive test driven over 2500 vehicles, owned over 10, longest JEEP, DODGE and Nissan! Everyone told me the Nissan had a bad transmission but bought mine new in 2015 traded in in 22 no issues, comfy, got a 22 Jeep Compass, now own a 2025 Compass 2025 is way more get up, room but after my Ford's, Buicks, Dodge, Chrysler, Nissans im not trading my Jeep tell something is better PERIOD!!! Of course I live in the snow, nothing better, more comfortable and as cheap as this, til it's built, I'll take this!!!
Sooo...you're saying that base models are LESS reliable than the higher trims? On what research do you base that statement considering that, except for trouble-prone gee gaws they're identical? What a moronic statement.
I can’t get past Jennifer’s vocal frrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy. That voice is just too hard to listen to. I tune into so many episodes that I end up abandoning because her voice is just too grating. I hope it isn’t the result of a medical problem, but even so CR should make sure she just writes articles.
Guys, defending the compass will hurt your integrity in the long run! You can only do so much playing with words! I’m not sure why you just still come out with the truth and say it!
The three worst hosts at CR. Who thought it was a good idea to put this trifecta of stale milk and cardboard together? A contest for the world’s most insidious vocal fry.
I love these journalists casually: "oh yeah, 30k, it's a nice first car or a car for your teenager" - In their world people are made of money.

Jen, no one is cross shopping a Jeep Compass with a RAV4 Prime. However, a Jeep compass and a ICE or hybrid RAV4 would be more comparable.

The discontinued Cherokee had some issues but it was 100 times more capable than the Compass at actual Jeep stuff.
agreed. it was thrown together really quickly (and should have been replaced much sooner) but it was otherwise surprisingly capable.
At 8:06 into the video, CR spells “2023 Dodge Hornet” as “2023 Dodge Hoenet”. Lol😂
😂😂😂 awesome catch

I think most CR watcher and readers would never buy a Jeep Compass.

Ed So
I want a Peugeot for the Angry Kitty logo if I had to buy a Stellantis!
Delighted to see John wearing a Dodgers cap⚾️
I rented Compass few years ago. I liked it so much that I considered buying it.
Loved my 22 so much, I bought the 25 when my lease was up and it's actually better now!!!
27:26 I use to autox one. it was actually pretty good.
I wear my sunglasses at night 🌙 😎

Sounds like a diesel 😂😂 such high quality 😂😂
Good conversation.
I wouldn’t buy a Compass with YOUR money……oops, I meant to say I wouldn’t buy a Compass with your nephew’s sister’s boyfriend’s money.
is this Donna from FROM?
38:08 is a dig at MKBHD 😂
Sounds dreadful. Can't say I'm shocked, it's a Jeep.
Please don't waste your time on a Jeep product: It is junk and priced 3X more than it should be.
Except the Wrangler.

Reliability is the big issue. Stick with Korean or Japanese.
No Koreans for me. 26 yrs now with my Lexus and still great.

What's with the hats indoors?
Jeep Compass= stay away, terrible quality & reliability. Buy a Mazda, Honda, Toyota or Subaru if you want a good vehicle than can last 300k miles.
The vocal frying from Joe was annoying!
Jen has much more vocal fry than Joe lol

No one buys jeep. If you're, no problem.

This is not an airport, no need to announce your departure
