    So BBR isn't just a futurity association? And is just for registered horses? Or can you run grade horses? How do you get involved in BBR?

    Christopher doesn't have a mate yet. Henry is getting a lot of people who want to be stable hands. He can start the heavy vetting process.

    If you knock over a barrel, or two barrels... stop beating your horse. Or just stop beating your horse period. Two hits is enough... damn

      Exactly. She wouldn't have hit the 2and if she hadn't popped him after the first. On the chestnut.

    What’s the point in not holding the horn. As a barrel racer you need to hold ur horn for balance purposes. And I’m seeing this in most of the younger ones

    • @devynt7702
      @devynt7702 4 года назад +3

      You don't need to hold the horn. You can and it helps. But by no means do you have to.

    • @EquineEmma_Official
      @EquineEmma_Official Год назад

      If u NEED to hold the horn for balance then hunny you need to work on that-

    • @IndiaNix-l6o
      @IndiaNix-l6o 2 месяца назад

      you don’t HAVE to do anything. it’s actually better not to hold it cause you can work on balancing yourself better using your feet and not relying on your horn to hold you up in your turns.

    Good to see more ladies wearing helmets nowadays - they don't have to try and keep these on their heads like the useless cowboy hats, which give no protection at all.

    Whipping and spurring your horse doesn’t make it faster I’m a barrel racer but I don’t whip and spur

    • @Taviatolsma
      @Taviatolsma 2 года назад

      Some horses are called push horses, and they need that. But I do agree that from the spurring that shouldn’t be bleeding.

    STOP RELYING ON THE WHIP TO SPEED UP YOUR HORSE. You're hurting him. Give a few light whacks, that'll be enough.

      Michael Burkinshaw doesn’t make it right. Morals should beat competitiveness. Jesus these are animals- living, breathing animals- not machines. They’re not ours to just beat and ride.

    • @jesusismybaeagh425
      @jesusismybaeagh425 6 лет назад +2

      Michael Burkinshaw every horse I’ve ridden, from ponies that buck every time an inexperienced rider asks for a canter, to ex race horses and lazy mares that wont walk straight, has never needed spurs or crops with me. If you rely on a piece of sharp metal or a whip to control your horse then congrats, not only are you an idiot, but you aren’t working with your horse you’re scaring it into complying. Horses do not need spurs or crops. Give me some time and I can ride any horse without them, because a horse does not ever need a painful jab in it’s ribs with metal or a painful hit on it’s chest from a whip. Horses are animals. They are NOT machines. The feel pain. They have their own thoughts. Start working WITH your horse and not fighting it into obeying and maybe you’ll get somewhere with them.

    im sorry, but who ever taught you to sit straight up, sling your weight around the outside and use that saddle horn instead of using your body as a counterbalance inside the weight of the horse, didn't do you and favors.
