    Great tractors, there was a zetor dealership in Aberdeenshire , just a mile up the road from our farm,. We had one for 30 years, I remember climbing aboard the cab one morning, it was hard frost on the right hand side and sunny weather on the left...

    That multipower should be on turtle, there might be a sticker to tell you that hydraulics and torque amplifier only to be engaged above 1200rpm, last tip is just behind the fan pulley there is a little cap that hides a grease nipple, this often gets overlooked, be careful when engaging the compressor you can snap the lever handy, all the best with it and have a good Christmas

    Cant believe lads would say that the crystal was under powered 😅 it weight was just under 4 ton no ballast a ford 7000 weight was 2.8 ton there the difference !!! Phil if you are looking for part for the crystal you can find parts from ursus as well just under a different listening in poland. They are the same tractor bar the doors swinging the opposite way and a lot of the parts have been upgraded like 70l hydraulic pump hydrostatic steering these 2 things alone will bring that tractor up to modern specs brakes also can be converted to wet instead of dry and 40k can be done to.
    I'd look for the front suspension off an ursus do if I was going 40k
    Either ways this was actually the tractor that set the standard back in 1968 yes 52years ago think that's enough said 🤣🤣

    • @garethifan1034
      @garethifan1034 2 года назад

    I bought a new Ursus 385 in 1980 it
    cost 6000 pounds at the time. I cut about 3000 acres of silage with it over the following four years with a tarrup double chop.It never gave me the slightest trouble. Packed in the contracting at the end of 1984 .Also had a 8045 Zeter great old tractor. It's hard imagine where the years have gone but time does slip away. If I ever make it back to Ireland I'd love to chat to Father Phil we could spin a few yarns. Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

    We had a few of them at home way back. The old man had an 8111 with was a 40k version and had never interior just finished a little better. Also had an 8011 and a few newer ones aswell 9540 and forterras. Still in use cut our own silage with a double chop they do our job good, crystals where a great tractor back in the day way ahead of there time with air and a hi low that never gave bother compared to other brands. We still have a 9245 with is pretty much an 8011 with a turbo and 4wd, great machine, would love to find a 12145 or even 14145 big six cylinder machine. Also the gear sticks where always out the side on them crystals.

    Drove Zetor 8011 first time 1975. Nothing like it on the market then. Cheap, strong, heavy, very comfortable in the mobile glasshouse that would accommodate all the family+ the dog, brakes always giving trouble. I rebuilt the 8011 in 2016, all parts from Bart in Cork, Brogans, and Clarkes New Inn.

    Drove one of these in the early 80's, they have automatic cold start if you let the revs drop really low and floor the pedal you can block the sun out with black smoke. We would wait till the sun was very low, climbing a bank with a load on, spot our old foreman in the field down sun from us and get the cold start to click in. When we got back to the dryer he would say 'you boys are slogging that tractor you wanna change down a gear'. We would say 'how do you know Jim' he would reply 'tup me boy I had to put me lights on to see where I was going' Good times!
