    Full review on the Olympus 14-42mm zoom lens for the M4/3 mount. Been trying out this lens for just over 6 months now and it's an excellent kit/beginner's lens.
    This whole review was shot on the lens except for the 2 B roll clips which were taken on the Samsung Galaxy A71.

      @@LookGoodTech I wish to ask your opinion on the Panasonic 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6, for my Olympus PEN E-PL 10. Thanks!!

      It's a great focal range to have in your collection, however when i was doing some research on Panasonic lens some people claimed that the lens image stabilisation was ineffective on olympus devices but none the less panasonic do make some great lens however i never owned that one but i do own the panasonic 25mm f1.7 prime lens which i use regularly on my olympus om-d e-m1 mark ii it's fantastic for product/portrait work.
      My recommendation would be to look into the Olympus 12-50mm it's quite similar in focal range with the same aperture and also has electric zoom, Macro capability and a extra function button on the lens plus it's can be found much cheaper than the panasonic sometimes.
      Please do check out any reviews on you tube between the two but if you own an olympus device than i would purchase the Olympus 12-50mm over the panasonic.
      Hope that helps Manny 🙏 thank you.

      Thanks John that's absolutely correct 👌 but I've seen many sellers stating the wrong description and some sellers don't show 360° of the product in the pictures provided.
      Most of this is usually on ebay it's not the seller's fault in most cases as they could easily get mixed up themselves.
      But yes your correct all micro4/3 lens usually have the micro symbol on them.

    Thank you for the review. I have had a Olympus Pen Lite E-pl3 for about 10 yrs and it has not had much use and gave it to my son. I have recently been interested in Astrophotography and pulled it out of the cobwebs. I thought whether the reviewed lens would be capable of Astrophotography.
    I have asked the people at Olympus if they had a lens that would be suitable and suggested the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 7-14mm F2.8 PRO
    /14-28mm (35mm equivalent) .
    I was wondering if it is an overkill price wise for my old camera or should I just get a new camera and lens?

    • @LookGoodTech
      @LookGoodTech  2 года назад

      Hi there, Alan thanks for checking out the review👍 I've not done astrophotography as of yet but the lens you have mentioned sound decent the Olympus pro 7-14mm is a little on the expensive side coming close to £1000 but has great specifications. It would definitely be an overkill for your current olympus device and my humble advice would be to upgrade.
      The brand new OM-1, Olympus om-d e-m1 Mark 3, and the Olympus em 1 X all have many great features and also include special feature for astrophotography. Olympus calls it "Starry AF" if iam not mistaken.
      All of these cameras are priced between £1500 and £2500 and they will come with olympus kit lens 12-40mm which is a fantastic lens and well recommended for it's versatility in the tech community.
      I would check reviews on the 3 camera's and purchase one of them with the kit lens. The 12-40mm will also do a great job for astrophotography.
      Hope that helps Alan, take care and all the best.

    Sadly i didnt know about the 9 pin and 11 pin difference and ended up buying an 9 pin 4/3 lens but i also ordered an adapter, lets see how it goes.

    • @LookGoodTech
      @LookGoodTech  2 года назад

      Ohh that happens sometimes hopefully the adapter should solve the problem but it just adds unnecessary weight to the setup, especially if you use a gimbal. As mentioned olympus have a alot of 4/3 lenses out there.

    Bro tnx for this video
    I have a questions please
    This lens it’s compatible whit Panasonic Lumix G9?

    • @LookGoodTech
      @LookGoodTech  Год назад +1

      Yes! For sure the lumix g9 is also a micro four thirds lens and all olympus lens should work however, please note that some functionalities might not work...
      It depends on the lens and what functionality it has for example some olympus or Panasonic lenses could have a extra built-in button on the lens which would only work with the native body.
      Majority olympus and panasonic lenses can be used on either device.

    Hey! Great review, I just bought this lens (used) and am waiting to fit it on my om-d e-m10. Does it work for astrophotography? Am completely new to photography and am learning. If not, can you please suggest a good (budget/cheap, used is fine too) lens for Astrophotography for om-d e-m10 mark ii camera? Thanks a lot!

    • @LookGoodTech
      @LookGoodTech  3 года назад +1

      Hi there thanks for watching the review and your feedback much appreciated. Unfortunately I am not into astrophotography and have never tried it. But i do knkw that it's better to have a fast wide lens. As this kit lens opens up to f3.5 it might not be the best for astrophotography. Please look into the the Olympus 12mm f2 or even better the 12-40mm f2. 8 pro lens.
      And alot of great astrophotography shots have been taken away from artificial light like street light or city lights and pollution plays some part in ruining astrophotography for some photography. Best to go out and keep taking some shots practice is your best learning curve. So go out and enjoy and good luck on your photography journey. ✌️

    Good video. I've had a an EPL-1 for around 7 years, it came with the older ED kit lens. And I've had the OMD E-M5 which came with the same 12-50 lens that you showed at the end. Then, recently, I bought a near-mint EPL-5 off ebay and it came with the 14-42 IIR that you've just reviewed. I haven't had a real chance to put it through its paces just yet, but even if it's the same as the kit lens on the EPL-1 (which I've shot hundreds of photos and video with) it's well worth the money. I'm betting that it's going to be better, though, otherwise why bring out a different model of the same lens for the newer camera?
    I look forward to watching your review of the 12-50. Again, I've shot a ton of stuff with that, on my OMD - school concerts, school sports days, inside museums, outside at the sea and in forests - and I can assure you that no one will be disappointed with that lens, brother!

      Thanks for watching the review and giving your feedback really motivating. It's a great little kit lens i think olympus realised that people were moving very quickly onto the M4/3 mount and that's why they quickly jumped on the train and stopped producing the older 4/3 mount.
      Will be uploading more reviews soon as a product photographer and video work for my other channel things have just been really busy. I've mostly been using the Sigma 16mm f1.4 and Olympus 45mm f1.8.
      Will be putting out more content soon once again thank you. Peace ✌️
