    Thanks for this review! I wore Dyads for years, then the fit changed and they fell flat. My last pair were ghosts but just bought these and they feel amazing. I strike hard and supinate and need the cushioning!

    I like the incite that you give in terms of it being able to fit an orthotic. I use arch support insoles, superfeet.

    Would you recommend this for a heavier person getting into running for the first time with flat arches? Or is their an orthotic you recommend to pair this with! Great review!

    I’m really excited to try this one. I loved the Pure line when I first started running and Brooks has had a few winners since then-mainly the Hyperion Tempo and now Hyperion Max, the latter which is one of my favorites. The rocker in that one works well for me. I had a chance to try the prototype Aurora BL and have been hoping ever since that a more traditional shoe would be created using that midsole and it sounds promising that this might be the case. I don’t like the super squishy sinking-in kind of midsoles so based on reviews, this new model is promising for my very long easy runs.

    Great to hear it can take an orthotic, most shoes can't as they lift your foot out of the shoe. When will it be available in Europe??

    People online like to dunk on Brooks, but they sell extremely well. "Normal" people usually prefer them to other brands daily trainers! I've personally never enjoyed a Brooks (except the Hyperion Tempo), but my customers love 'em!

    Ty for comparing it with the Echelon 9. How does the cushion differ? Is this more cushiony? And stability-wise are they pretty similar (stable neutral)?

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  10 месяцев назад +3

      Echelon 9 is far more stable due to sidewalls. Both are soft but ghost max feels just a little softer.

    Hi guys, love your content. I run in Hoka Clifton and moved to 1080 v13’s but they were too unstable for me. I need a neutral shoe but some mild stability elements like sidewalls (not hardcore medial posts etc). Would this show work for some stability need or should I stick with Cliftons or maybe Nimbus 25?

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  7 месяцев назад

      Definitely an option if Clifton works for you. Clifton 9 is solid. New Balance Fresh Foam More v4 also great.

    Yes. I want max cushion and low drop shoes. I am just a little worried about the fit. I took half size down on the glycerin 20. The length is enough but it's still too wide for me.

    I’m really struggling with shin splints and flat feet m/overpronation finding a shoe which my shins can deal with .
    Would I be better off with a normal shoe and orthotic insoles, vs a stability shoe?
    Note I’ve had the hoka arahi 4 and the brooks adrenaline gts 22. Currently the brooks is a better option but still irritates my shins

    i'm overweight, use custom orthotics, and have wide/flat feet. looking for a shoe to do a lot of walking and some elliptical work, no real runnong or jogging. have tried on the echelon 9, those feel good. how would these compare? again if walking is my main form of exercise but i need something to give me nice support and be orthotic friendly, is this better than that? anything else? thank you!

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  7 месяцев назад

      Both the echelon and ghost max were designed for walking and running. Ghost max fit is a little more snug than the echelon. The front of the ghost max also feels a bit more rockered. Both shoes in the same category and comparable.

    Probably a dumb question but is there any shoe that changes the drop without the insole? Maybe it would be nice, I like lower drop shoes, in this case if the insole had 2/3 mm drop, taking it out it would be a 4/3mm drop shoe, besides that I also would get more space for my wide foot without the insole. Well, maybe a crasy thought, sorry.

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  9 месяцев назад +1

      Not that we know of, but there is blumaka’s insole which adds 2-4mm (can’t remember off top of head). Only works with a shoe with a lot of volume like the Saucony Echelon. A few other insoles fo the same.

      Nope! Totally different shoe
      Glycerin 21 will have a higher stack height than Glycerin 20's but keep the nitrogen infused Loft V3 foam and no rocker geometry
      The ghost max has the aforementioned rocker geometry and much higher stack of the softer loft v2, a lot softer shoe than the Glycerin 20
      Really a totally different ride

      I loved the Brooks Pure Flow as well as the Pure Cadence. As people frequently say, Brooks gets bashed as beginners’ shoes or getting pushed by stores en masse, etc, but they’ve had some real winners and the Pure line was outstanding in its day. Some of us are old enough to remember them so I’m glad to hear this comparison!

      Yeah, he sounds like he's giving a sales pitch rather than talking about his experience running in the shoe. There's not enough criticism or calling out faults with the shoe which, since it's an EVA Brooks shoe, are considerable. These Shoetubers are just out here cashing checks to keep the free samples rolling in. Review sites like Solereview actually buy shoes to test and review removing the conflict of interest.
