Maye, I just wanted to say your content is really refreshing, and your disposition and way of expressing your thoughts is on point. Thank you for posting:)
Behold the return of the autodidact. Imagine knowing what you want to learn and then learning it without paying anyone, then applying that knowledge to your life in a way that makes you successful. Imagine that.
That came across a little bit glib. I am only suggesting it would be interesting to see, in an era where information is so very easy to obtain, what a movement toward real learning could bring to a group of people fed up with the current gatekeepers of knowledge. It is the perfect landscape for autodidacts to flourish.
C. It’s a social club that makes a little money on the side by hustling its brand (pretty much a paper mill). The fact that its own members are making a distinction between off and on site, is evidence enough of that. If AI can weed out dishonesty in academia, I am for it. When it comes to who we perceive as our erudite leaders in scholarship, there is no room for plagiarism. At what point does necessary investigation become a witch hunt? Makes me want to write a detective novel on the subject, possibly with tentacles.
Having a degree diploma from Harvard (2002), I'm starting to think it might be a good idea to set it aflame. It's clearly not worth the paper it's printed on.
Yeah, I feel like all those presidents had an offramp not sure why they all failed that basic test. Also just want to say I came for the cults and stayed for your personality. I also took classes through the Harvard Extension School and I just want to say they are the actual classes the Harvard students take, in some respects I find being an extension student is more difficult than the on campus "Harvard" experience. Since the teachers don't offer the same resources to the extension students but we are graded the same and have all the same deadlines etc. Not to mention most of the extension students work full time... Love ya videos!
Is the Harvard Degree "bogus"? In some ways...these institutions and their benefits are only as valuable as what we as a collective society are willing to pay towards it. AND...that's the point. Ackman understands this...that if you devalue the worth of a degree, and rather specific institutions in the eye of the public, where does the value of education come from? It comes from where the rich and powerful say it comes from. College only stops being valuable in some people's eyes and it won't be those who can afford through their connections to garner value from it. Education...in many ways has been an equalizer, it hasn't been perfect, but it has helped. Those Ackman represent aren't interested in truth...they're interested in power. We think those who can afford to won't find ways to game even this new system? Like AI can't be used to pre check work for format of references and quotation marks? If anything should come from this it's a reevaluation of the weight we place on dissertations...there's people who can teach their asses off but can't contribute to the body of knowledge...but tons of weight is placed on originality. This won't create the world people are thinking it will.
"Thanos was wrong, but he wasn't wrong wrong." Do you have a video about this, or would you mind making one? Because I don't understand this argument (Not interested in reading others' replies, only from Maye Muses)
Imagine if there was a set criteria for how to cite sources for RUclips videos. And you stuck by that criteria. And then two decades later they changed that criteria. But instead of holding you to the citation requirements of your era, they, for political reasons, held your two decades old videos to the new criteria. Said you were plagiarizing, and got you demonetized, in your current day. This is what happened. Many of you have zero clue about academic writing or scholarly standards for citation, then or now. Because if you did, you'd realize why Claudine didn't plagiarize, and that this entire scandal is clearly about something else.
This right here. APA, MLA etc. have changed. Even formatting has changed and it's really easy to technically plagerize by missing a citation. That's not even close to straight up stealing ideas or putting your name on someone's paper.
I'm sorry but you could not be more wrong. Dr Gay's "plagiarism" was literally her forgetting to put in quotation marks but still citing the person in the footnotes or vice versa. Nobody who isn't a right wing shill believes she tried to pass another persons thoughts on as her own especially since she was citing her own thesis advisor (AKA co-author if you haven't done academic writing). This is another example of a black person being held to standard that nobody else is held.
This was definitely a political takedown, but all 50 allegations can’t be explained away. One or two, well, language is limited but for all of them, it’s just too much. These are Cosby numbers. Here’s a link to an article and even taking Canon out, there’s just so many. And yes, Oxman seems to also be very guilty of plagiarism. freebeacon.com/campus/harvard-president-claudine-gay-hit-with-six-new-charges-of-plagiarism/
Guy, I had a baby 4 months ago. The fact that I can do any videos, which don’t make me any money BTW, is impressive. AI would respond to all the comments because it has no life

B. An Ivy League education is overrated, but what you're really paying for is the opportunity to network / clout.

Good point - If we discredit everything where does that leave us.

It is hilarious how the extension degrees were crapped on -- oh so elite.

"Now we get to see who is in academia for power and who is in it for knowledge".
#stealingthis #iamaplagerist 😂😂😂
Knowledge is power.. They are one and the same..
@@00ghostcobra So then, by extension, to plagiarize is to hold false power?
Bingo!

Are you that silent majority I heard so much about?
I think the critiques against institutions are fair. However, AI catches anything that is remotely similar and citation expectations change regularly.
Oh no, she unalived herself :(
Hey maye! I have a question about a tiktok video that explains the plagiarism situation can you explain if it has a valid argument ?
"Thanos was wrong, but he wasn't wrong wrong." Do you have a video about this, or would you mind making one? Because I don't understand this argument (Not interested in reading others' replies, only from Maye Muses)
You just have to look at the backgrounds of Claudine Gay vs Roland Fryer to see how much this is about elitism, class and preservation of the hegemony
I like that Twitter allows long form now.
No comment about Bill Ackman’s wife’s plagiarism 🤔
She probably did it, but she's not the president of Harvard. The video is more about how AI is going to expose academic frauds in academia.
Do what you want , as long as as you’re blaCk and can get Obama to have your back

@MayeMuses Only one of the examples they gave seemed like genuine plagerism.
Couldn’t be more caught up in simple propaganda. Great response by her… I think the kids used to call this a “burn”.
Hey, Maye
I can't do it anymore Maye. You never engage with viewers who comment. You just post and ghost. Your channel might as well be AI generated. 😞
