This SUCKS!!! I like watching games from other markets. This is why I have purchased the MLB package for the last few years. Some days I will watch parts of 3 or 4 different games plus the Royals and maybe Cardinal games. Being a Royals fan and season ticket holder for the past 20 years.
I was without sports for 2 years until last summer, staying with Dish when FSN was blackmailing them for more money. Now that I have the Twins it isn't baseball anymore. Between timed pitches and allowing a team to score in extra innings on two sac flies, baseball's sales pitch appears to be, "Don't worry! The game will be over soon, but at least the commercials will be closer together now!"
I am a Braves fan living in Alabama, and we are BLACKED OUT from Braves games even though we are 3.5hrs away. Also, Bally and Google did not sign a contract so BallySports was removed from RUclipsTV...SO...I am hoping that Bally implodes and I get to watch the Braves again!!
Screw the bally sports graphics. I mean. I like. The logo display in it and the display of the inning and counts but. The outs and the base showing is garbage not the. 0/0 counts. Of the ball and strike display but that the reason why I don't. Like it and it should be moved in the top left or bottom right
@@Kuchprod yeah just move the base display and the outs somewhere else and make it a square or rectangle score bug with the same .colors and graphic.but recreated then your good
This is great news that Diamond is going bankrupt. It’s totally deserved after screwing their customers. Their scoreboard is garbage. Yes, garbage is a euphemism for another word.
I think that the rest of the "Big Four" leagues (other than the NFL) will be doing what MLS is doing now: select games on national TV with ALL the rest on a carrier such as AppleTV or RUclips TV with NO local blackouts, all for a flat rate per season.
Bally?!? The last time Bally was relevant was when Bally was making an Astrocade version of Pac Man, but Atari bought the home rights straight from Namco. Also we're Dish Network customers. We never had Bally Sports. This is a good thing, I hope....
Just take a page from the NFL’s book and broadcast them on a single network like ESPN, FSN, or even their own tv networks. NBA TV, MLB Network and NHL Network. Broadcast the local team’s game and have a national broadcast game. Have the teams employ the broadcasting crews, camera crews, etc.
I hope the Padres manage to ditch Bally and go back to Cox Cable and bring back 4SD. Though, I could see Peter Seidler actually just fully taking over Bally San Diego and run it as a RSN as itself and bring the SDSU Aztecs, USD, UCSD, Loyal SC, Wave FC, Soccers, Seals, Gulls, and the Legion on board while making expanding the Bally San Diego content shows to and highlight San Diego HS sports to contend in the sphere vs KUSI. The problem would be getting the rights for all these, which if you put it into a shared ownership with all the other owners with the Padres with controlling interest - then it’s not so bad.
I hope the Cardinals and Blues do a similar thing as your second point with Bally Midwest in St. Louis goes under. Allows you to keep the RSN model up and running, but also introduce a streaming model that actually includes the teams you WANT to watch with GOOD quality (fuck Bally+).
Never had this problem back when local over the air channels broadcasted the games. But owners needed to get more money to pay players outrageous salaries.
Should've not bought in the first place. They bit off more than they can chew. FOX Sports should've known better. This sucks. I mean Bally is a bunch of dummies that can't piece things together. Half the teams in the league are affected by this. Yeah they should've went after AT&T instead of FOX Sports. terrible business decisions!
There are a SIGNIFICANT amount of Cardinals fans in and around STL who solely get DirectTV for Cards games. Before dropping the Birds, MLB would have to make sure they’re on a cable channel. DirectTV would lose half of the subscribers in the region. Old white guys would riot. But seriously, Cards will be one of the last to go because that would have to be worked out.
I'm so glad the Ywins are done with Bally Sports I haven't seen a game on TV or stream for two years now, bring back local broadcasts, or at least stream on youtubeTV, the only thing putting broadcasts behind a pay wall did was reduce attendance and gut merchandise sales
I Know it would be a little off brand, but wouldn't it make sense (especially for Reds, Guardians, and Twins) to at least have a partial airing agreement with the BIG TEN network? Already readily available in most markets
It definitely makes sense. Isn’t Big10 a Fox property? I guess fox had baseball before this all went to shit. But merging this in with college football TV rights (which books have been written on) will never happen. Great idea. Not practical in today’s landscape.
Apple TV+ may bit some of the games. But I like their scoreboard look better than ballys. It shows batters srats at the bottom right if screen as of current at bat, shows oitch clock with scoreboard.
I live in St. Paul, so how does this affect the Twins with part of their revenue coming from TV revenue will this in turn hurt the Minnesota Twins if the MLB has to jump in, and will the MLB take a step back once the Twins find a new provider. Or will the league in turn be able to block any potential deals. I don't like the fact that the MLB could potentially taking over in place of Bally Sports, and how much of an impact has this played on the Timberewolves, and Wild with both teams about to start game 1 of round 1 in their respectable leagues playoff series.
Holy crap! This is a complete nightmare! I feel bad for all fans that are involved which will be MILLIONS! I hope this gets fixed and other networks step in. MLB absolutely needs to step in.
Ginger could you see someone like nbc universal with all there channels and there streaming stepping up or Fox sports taking some of there markets back they got from Bally's sports?
All 3 leagues on here are way too long. 162 games. 82 games. 82 games. The amount of people who will watch every game is small. All 3 suffer from low average regional ratings. Most people got shit to do and when most of the season is viewed as irrelevant and you can always catch the next game tomorrow or the day after many people will choose to do something else often. People work, have families, have kids in different activities, have birthdays to attend too, religious activities, movie nights, etc. Unless it is the post season with these teams with long seasons people will find other things to do often. The NFL and College Football is perfect. 17 games with a few byes and maybe a Monday/Thursday night game free's up multiple weekends, college with 12 games and a bye, with a long period between bowls/playoffs creates space for a weekend. Every game matters with a short season, but with baseball, hockey, and basketball it condenses your schedule to a point that you got to make a choice. Watch game 63 of a MLB season, or go watch your kid play baseball or daughter play soccer. Yeah, I think I'll choose my kids.
@@jvjustvibes9103 yes, true. Not as much as MLB, but still yet we could do a 50 game NBA season and all the games will matter way more. Early season games matter very little especially when half the league gets in. I still think we should just have a 4 team in each division playoff. Only 1 team ever the 1995 Houston Rockets won the title being lower than a 4 seed. An 8 seed Knicks made it to the finals in 99, but that was during a labor strike year where they went 27-23 and were only 6 games back of first.
