I also heard that if a woman sees odu, she will stop menstruating which means that she can't give birth again unless they quickly do a ritual. That's why one should use a good babalawo for the initiation to prevent this.

This is fascinating stuff. I'd like to know more about this ODU. Is there a correlation among the words ODU, ODUDUWA and OLODUMARE? I'm sure there will be some hidden connection. I learn there's also a giantess/goddess Bilikisu Sungbo (popularly thought to be the queen Sheba), buried somewhere in Ogun state and it's stated that she gave a command just before her death that no woman must visit her burial site. Strange things are happening.
