Great tip for those corners as well as steaming the Fray Check. I've stayed away from Fray Check as much as possilble because I didn't like how stiff it was. This is great to know. Thanks!!

    Hi Carlee,
I am a student that registered for Amy's course and I have a Brother 1134D serger. Don't worry about the serger brand as their setup and functions are all very similar with 4 threads setting. I successfully made a zipper pouch after I took the course (and followed the video) that's one of the course projects.
you can take a look at the zipper pouch I made under the name WendyThePooh.

For fray check , I use a pair of pinking shears / zigzag scissors.
    It works wonders!!

My laptop browser likes these You Tube vids but the Craftsy ones, not so much. I know, my issue. Looking forward to your class Amy. I'll have to keep working with different browsers so it doesn't stop and start so much on Craftsy!

Hello Amy, I'm a beginner and didn't have any idea about serge machine. Last week I bought one overlock machine. I am making practice and practice. The difficult thing is how to adjuste tensions 🤦‍♀️. However I liked this episode which is so helpfull and I am going soon to try making napkins as you tought us. But I don't have wooly nylon thread ! Can I do rolled hem with polyester or embroidery thread and get nice edges?

Hi...can i know did you threading the nylon thread for right needle too? to get nice rolled hem stitch? I might worried the thred might break frequently when i started stictching. coz the nylon thread is quite stretchy and tension not seem hard for me to adjust it when i try it with regular sewing machine...can i just use spun polyester thred for right needle? Is it the stitches will be nice filled the gap?...im beginner using serger..😅😅😅

Frey check is a little pricey so I use clear nail polish and it works just as well.

very well done, as opposed to a lot of these instructional videos...good audio, good step-by-step description, good video...i love it...she could have gone over the situation about excluding the left needle a little bit better, but assuming an IQ of room temperature, i guess the average guy could eventually figure that out...

Hi. I am new to world of serging. Hem on top is gorgeous but I don't know what it is supposed to look like on the bottom. Any chance we can see a pic of the bottom stitches? Thanks.

What advice would you have for doing a rolled hem on organza please. Do you use the knife. I have a Brother 1034D

Great lesson! Is the fabric right side up? None of the serger rolled hem lessons I've found mention right side or wrong side of the fabric.

You can get wooly polyester thread or Polyarn, which doesn't melt when you iron it, and you usually iron napkins, from Superior Threads.
