I'm not big on anime in general (being 44 might have something to do with that), but the burn that manager got in the first story was totally worth it.
Had a district manager years ago like the IT one, except she got fired for making too many false comments. One was trying to fire 3 staff for insubordination, saying they refused to clean the bathroom which not only was not their job, there was no bathroom in our building to begin with. The other was her trying to get one of those employees arrested for sexual harassment, looking in on her when she was supposedly using this bathroom that did not exist which was what got her fired. When pd came to arrest the employee and I found out why, took them on a tour of the entire 1 floor building to show them no such place existed and that this woman was making things up. When she showed up the officer asked her to show him this supposed bathroom this all took place with her saying she cant take them there as the area was staff only. The daggers she shot me when I said Id be happy to take them, her not knowing they went on tour earlier. I even threw in can only imagine how bad this bathroom smelled by now since no other staff was able to find it to clean. Officers left with the district manager instead, and I got a call at night she was no longer employed, and if she shows up on premises, she was to be arrested. Reason our building had no bathrooms, which was corrected after I left, was due to a really bad engineering error. We had a building next to us that was identical to ours, and found out it was supposed to be part of our building, but somehow when it was being built, no one took into account that there was or would be a road being built, so in the end it was two buildings, but no correction to add bathrooms to ours. We did have a cafeteria, in which plenty of staff used to say should be converted to a bathroom since the food served there tasted like, well you get it ;)

I used to be a pretty big fan of some top mainstream "cop" shows on network TV (NO interest in "comedies" or "reality" shows). One day while watching one of my favorite shows I realized that if any cop (at least at most law enforcement agencies) behaved like too many of the characters on most cop shows behaved, they'd be gone, almost instantly. Ok, I get that without drama, nobody would watch most of the shows. I don't have a problem with that, but, when you are 2-3 steps ahead of the show in your mind, maybe it's just too much repeat or stale story lines. But still, if it's entertaining... At one point when I was many, many, years younger I was a reserve deputy sheriff (I was but a puppy at the time), and have worked with/around law enforcement agencies at various other times in my life. So, I have a feel for what REAL police/LEO work is like. And at some point, at least for me, the story lines of the major broadcast networks shows just got, uh, how to put it, "dis-interesting" (?) and, well, wasn't really "entertaining" anymore. I guess it comes down to, if I'm going to watch "pretend" stuff, I might as well watch pretend stuff with good story lines. Besides, I kind of always have been a bit of a "nerd" with a fondness for dragons, magic, elves, etc. and science fiction/fantasy so making a move to anime for my nightly entertainment just seemed to be an "organic" transition. I also want to add that the often misconstrued stereo type of adult (especially male) anime fans doesn't do the people or the genre any favors. For instance, muscle cars (have a couple of projects) photography, electronics/computers, home improvement, and I have a nice, later model upscale high horsepower import sedan (says AMG on the trunk for those that are interested). Sure would be nice to find a group of similar people that is apolitical to get in with. Politics these days seems to ruin everything it touches. And if I had to pick a waifu, Lalei La Lalena. Possibly the first "Graphic Novel" I ever saw (the one which practically invented the term) was ElfQuest by Wendy and Richard Pini (still available online at elfquest.com last I knew). What struck me about it was that it was a sophisticated story told through some of the most gorgeously detailed artwork I've ever seen. In an era where most "comic book" stories involved the standard "action" with "good vs evil" as the driver, ElfQuest had "knowledge vs ignorance" as its basis with "action" and "good vs evil" being incidental to and resulting from the plot rather than being the whole purpose of the story. (At least, through most of the story. Later issues were still nice but in most people's opinions, they departed from the original theme thus somewhat spoiling the genre).
Well there's so much variety in anime, once you get past the "it's just a cartoon" mentality, you realize there's stuff in there for all ages (and I'm old enough to remember that one of my local videos stores (god I AM old) had La Blue Girl, Vampire Hunter D, Fist of the North Star, and Hamtaro all lined up in the "Special interest" section).

My father used to do an audit for a small bookbinding company in London. One year they were having cash flow problems and having landed a big job contract were in the position where the boss asked the workers for one weeks grace on their wages, to fulfill a previous contract and thus having gotten the owed money would pay them all the next week with a bonus to make up for inconvenience. The workers said NO they wouldn't do that. Consequences, they were not paid but laid off. The company went into administration and the next week saw men come into the little bindery with sledge hammers and destroy all presses and machinery for scrap. This happened in 1958.
That contrasts with a company I heard of (Australian, I believe) which said much the same thing to their workers but the workers, including managers, agreed to take pay cuts and cuts to benefits. The company managed to get back on its feet and repaid all workers all of their back pay and benefits. At least, that's what I heard.

That first story reminds me of something that happened to me once years ago. I like comic book type subjects, but I hadn't done any regular comic reading since the days of Sonic Comics as a kid. (lotsa manga since then tho) There are so many series, many of them years if not decades into their runs, so I had no real clue where to start. I walked into a comic store and it was bad from the start. As I came in, I saw someone on each side of the counter having a conversation. They blankly looked at me, said nothing, then went back to their conversation. I see a couple long rows of shelves on a nearby wall with what looks like comics, but there were several problems: 1 The shelves were not too high to reach, but high enough to be inconvenient. 2 There were several gaming table ends up against the same wall, so you had to reach around them. 3 The comics were so tightly layered you could not see the covers at ALL. I glanced helplessly over at the counter, then randomly tried pulling one out here and there before I started feeling really awkward and ended up leaving. I've heard of people who run comic shops purely as a hobby for themselves and not to actually do business, and I think that was one of them. Fuck you guys.

After I and thousand others got ripped off by Gravity who offered to transfer our accounts from beta to final if we prepayed, discovered they were all stripped. Being outside the USA they got away with it except for ones like myself who did charge backs. Few years later, emulators sprang up so now a days I run my own server with friends only with our rules and no chance of getting ripped off or trolled.

On that IT story, a while back my brother was looking at computers at a...lets say Stapler's Are Us and my brother asked about the RAM of one of the computers. The man said, 'oh its 500 Gigs'. My brother pauses and looks at the guy funny and says, 'No, the RAM, not the hard drive space' to which the man says, 'those are the same thing.' yeeeeaaaah....no they're not, and anyone who's been hired to sell computers should know that. Worse when my brother said they were definitely not the same thing the guy argued with him. At that point my brother decided _not_ to buy a computer there.
Did they not have HR or such at the time the last story happened? How could the manager be so blatant in her attempts to get rid of a good employee yet not get in any trouble at all? She was shown to have lied and made stuff up, yet it’s fine?
The manager that hired her is probably covering for her and shielding her from HR or he hired HR to and they are just as incompetent at their job and/or he's telling them he's got it handled to ignore everything about her.
First story, What section of Reddit is the opposite of r/idontworkherelady? I do want to know about the story of 'real lazy employee' too. You know, life is two side of a coin, good and bad. Certainly if there is a good and bad costumer, there should be a good and employee.
I am a Computer Science Major with minimal knowledge of the field, and yet I cringe at every step of the IT story. "She did not know the difference between PC and Mac......" - o_o oh no.... "she hired a Cobol programmer..." O__O; OH NOOOOOOOO *context...programmers stopped using Cobol (at least in mass) at that point in computer programming history*
Final Story, for a final bit of company revenge you should contact that companies HR department and lawyers and inform them of her Falsifying her employment application ( confessed while drunk you could tell them). any competent lawyer and HR director would then have a responsibility to look into the claim. then finding this out fire both of them, him for highering her and not checking and her for forgery. then sue them both for the companies losses during her "Employment".
The problem is he hired her. How do we know he didnt hire one or more HR to look the other way or paid them to look the other way. As someone else pointed out she never got into trouble for all the false accusations she made against OP. So he had to have had someone on the inside of HR covering for her.
Clearly Good Granny and Good Mom had NO idea what Anime is since MOST Anime is aimed at an Adult Audience... A lot of it is (or bloody well should be) R Rated for that matter...
I think its best not to tell them theur 22 year old watches violent anime. I have nit and from what I've heard about it wont watch Attack on Titan but have heard it's bloody and possibly gorey. Even though he's an adult something tells me mom and grandma would be shocked amd horrified that "cartoons" like anime can be that violent. I'm surprised that they didn't question him at mentioning Death Note that I have seen season 1 of. Just because of the title alone. Although they probably didn't register it much with the rest he mentioned.

An adult liking cartoons / anime? How unusual. (I'm only 64, but I'm sure when I grow up I'll put such childish things behind me.) I wonder sometimes where they find the children with the skills to produce, direct, write, animate, and voice these things. It's hard to imagine any adult liking such jobs.

same here. But I know what a mixed marriage is. One has apple and one has windows.
There is no such thing as a "windows dos" system.
@@reh3884 lol... I must be old if you dont know what DOS, is haha en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOS
@@jimmiedmc1 yes its only been the last decade or so thst you couldn't use dos to program a Microsoft computer a computer nerd told me. I don't know i don't code program or whatever new term is for telling a computer what to do in the background. I just know how to click and type. Lol
@@reh3884 Well it's true that Windows Me was 20 years ago, but it still ran on top of DOS, so I'd say that calling it a "windows dos" system isn't that far off (though "DOS/Windows" was the more common term).

It serves her right that you would send them to another store where their business would actually be appreciated I don't understand some people like yeah you work in the store you're so much cooler than the average human being like seriously you may watch more anime than a regular person it does not make you a super hero even though you may dress like one when no one's watching LOL
It would be nice to see some of these old business higher-ups read this and realize that it's about their failed company.
I'm 64 and still like watching cartoons
Still entertaining me! Lots of fun and very enjoyable.😉
I see a couple long rows of shelves on a nearby wall with what looks like comics, but there were several problems:
1 The shelves were not too high to reach, but high enough to be inconvenient.
Good morning! Hopefully you have a wonderful day, stay safe and stay free!
Ah MS Dos brings back memories
MS dos? That was a while back!
I think my vet still runs his green screen PCs with matrix dot printers in some version of MS DOS. 🤦🏻♀️

Good morning, Friends!
My children say I'm obsessed with the stories. Well o don't know about obsessed.....
Just every single one right
Tell them to stop being a Karen or Kevin. Lol
And 5 minutes in, the SpongeBob music begins. So worth waiting for and fits in perfectly with the stories.
Companies need to make a rule that says anytime a manager or executive goes outside of the standard procedure to hire someone that they are personally responsible for any of their mistakes for their first year working there. Put an end to nepotism and fake resumes all at once.
That last story manager reminds of people who cut off their nose to spite their face. Don't you just love people who end up shooting themselves in the foot?
Except that they seem to do so much damage when they do. Not surprisingly though.
Smiling in my bed listening to Rw reading these
what kind of a company would not see this in two years?
There should be a subreddit about IT, with as many of these I've seen, it should be it's own subject. I'm a loyal lurker here and I watch every day+. Thank you RedWheel for your efforts to keep us entertained. Great work! 💨💥💫
I like anime myself. One anime online game I like is Ragnarok online. They used to and in some ways still are fee based.
Anime fan and collector at age 62. (I'm sure not ready to be "old", dang). And yes, I too have a modest collection of some select anime figurines. A lot of us, like me, also have interests in a lot of more "mainstream" endeavors. For instance, muscle cars (have a couple of projects) photography, electronics/computers, home improvement, and I have a nice, later model upscale high horsepower import sedan. Sure would be nice to find a group of similar people that is apolitical to get in with. Politics these days seems to ruin everything it touches. And if I had to pick a waifu, Lalei La Lalena. Just gotta love her inquisitive nature and her intellect. Too bad she's just a figment of a writers imagination.
The anime part when they asked how old I’m 11 and my dads 41 so I guess it rangers a long way
On that IT story, a while back my brother was looking at computers at a...lets say Stapler's Are Us and my brother asked about the RAM of one of the computers.
First story,
What section of Reddit is the opposite of r/idontworkherelady?

Thank you for the video.
You make my day better just plain
Listening to this on the way to work, my day is now starting good. Thanks
8:14 the second it was proven that she was making up stuff in that meeting you should have filed a complaint for harassment and a hostile work environment. Put her making up s*** about you on record and then upper management will never take anything she says about you seriously again and if they do, and fire you for it you can sue the f*** out of them.
I’m going to listen to this at school
i dont think its unusual for adults to like cartoons i am 52 and i still like bugs bunny
As to the first story that do called manager shouldn't be a manager or employee if that buisness. As to the second story that know nothing idiot ended up doing op a favor. It's is disturbing how these idiots get away with it for so long and still have a job.

On whether its ok to love cartoons as an adult or not.... to that I say, my grandfather watched cartoons to the day he died and I will do the same. Regardless of the answer.

Same here and I am 10 years younger than you 🤗❤🇨🇦
There should be no reason why even old folks would not like anime. I'm 58 and in the 70s, we were already inundated with anime

how angry it makes me that people think anime and manga are for children ..., there are so many anime with adult stories, some even make you cry from sadness, better than many movies or normal programs
@Zak Strayder Good for you 👍 👏
I am not a fan of either but, isn't some manga (in particular) highly sexualized and for adults only?

If u like anime then u no it no cartoons
Cartoons are just anime in different languages.. if it’s not ‘real’ people acting, it’s either cartoons/anime or CGI, at least in my opinion. I understand that anime may be predominantly adult, but who doesn’t like road runner and bugs bunny???
