    This is a really great review! You really kept it quick and concise, great to see extra care in showcasing the Iron Cobras features while making detailed comparisons with the DW. I actually already own a 5000 so my current decision has to be made between the power or rolling glide cam versions, I think you’ve sold me on the rolling glide! Again, excellent job!

    Best review ever! I have been playing a Double with Power Glide Cam… and I have always felt that “i’m not that good playing fast double bass drum”, specially for syncopated rythms, but everytime I play other double pedals, I control like hell! So I decided that I’ll get the new Rolling Glide Version for more control. I’m good with the Power, but feels kinda weird, kinda with latency. Hate the power glide cam hahaha. Thanks for the great video. Was thinking to get the speed cobra (it has the rolling glide too, but the angle looks similar to what the power glide does, so, Im not taking risks).

      Thanks for watching!! I agree, no need for the extra speed/power... control is more important to me too! If you end up getting the speed cobra, let us know how that works out.

    I always thought the Iron Cobra pedals felt the most Solid and sturdy. And I really like how the adjustment spring swivels at the bottom as well, and not just at the top. I had wondered when somebody would get to making that adjustment on a pedal. It also Helps with not getting "squeak" from the spring as well.

      Thanks for watching! I agree with what you said here, the Iron Cobra is very much a sturdy workhorse that doesn't make any extra noise like you mention.

    Cool video. You may want to put one of those stick on pads on the batter head. Makes a difference when the beater hits the head and the head will last longer. I like the Evans EQ patch. Remo makes one also.

      Thanks for watching and those are helpful... I've noticed in the past some of them seem to add to much click and bounce back... do you not find that the case with the Evans EQ patch?

  • @IJoeSimmonsI

    I have both. My dw 5000 feels so much lighter and easier to throw around. I love the hoop clamp of the iron cobra but it feels slow and sluggish. I simply can’t play as fast on the Tama as I can effortlessly on the dw.-

      Hey Joe thanks for watching! The DW is definitely easier to move around now that I have both as well, we'll see if my initial opinion holds over the years, or if I start feeling more like you do... I'll update if so. Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't yet!

    That is not a weight...it is a memory lock so you know where to put your beater after you disassemble the pedal for travel.

    Maybe you can help me. I bought a Tama imperialstar for my first kit. Great set imo for a beginner like me. However, I'm pretty sure the kick pedal, hi hat and stands are the cheapest you can find. I want to upgrade the kick pedal. Do you know this difference between the hp900pn vs the hp900rn? Edit: lol. I think it's pn for power glide and rn for rolling glide

    • @FuzzywallzMastering
      @FuzzywallzMastering  9 месяцев назад

      You're correct, the rn is for rolling glide and pn is for power glide. I have not used the pn (in the video I explain that I wanted a more 'standard' feel without the addition speed assistance), but if you're able to try both a local shop, may be best approach? I would bet you'd be happy with either, the pn might just take a little more 'getting used to'. Let me know what you end up going with either way and how you like it. Thanks for watching!

      @@alancip77 I believe just tighten the same key that you'd loosen to change the height. Yours may just be a bit loose. When you retighten, try to get the beater lined up a evenly as possible.

    Did the weight for your beaters come with your Iron Cobra?

    • @FuzzywallzMastering
      @FuzzywallzMastering  Год назад +1

      Great question! No, the weight you see on the Iron Cobra was actually taken off the DW5000 I had. Good catch!

      @@josephmadonia5995 No, it is a counterweight. The memory lock for the DW5000 beater is black and has little indentations to align with the cam.

    Iron Cobra spring just lifts off for pack away or when not playing.

      A big Tama fan myself! But I did want an honest comparison for everyone to see. Although in a few years I may get brand new versions of both... (that was the only 'unfair' part, the DW was older), This video was about comparing what I had just gotten to what I previously had so.... Anyways, thanks for watching!

      @@FuzzywallzMastering I was looking at the DW5000, but I would've had to get the XF version due to my shoe size. I just purchased the speed cobra (longer foot board) which is the same price currently as the iron cobra. However the footboard is set back a bit. Didn't think much of it 'til I played it. My foot brain was confused with amazement at how easy it was go play. Shoe on or off, it didn't matter, it just works with ease.

      @@dcmastermindfirst9418 They have more adjustability, definitely. Better is in the eye of the beholder, but I do like the Tama pedals too. I wish they offered the Iron Cobra Rolling Glide with a strap too though.

    • @dcmastermindfirst9418
      @dcmastermindfirst9418 16 дней назад

      @PaulMarangoni They're definitely the most efficient pedal on the market. Every feature they have are designed to serve the pedal completely. They work completely with gravity.
      The cobra coil makes the footboard move with your foot making it faster than others. The spring magnetic means you can fold it up and just unfold it and clip on the ring easily.
      It's a totally user friendly pedal
      Best pedal on the market by far.
