you know, kate bishop has been my favorite comic book character since... pretty much when i started to read comic books with the young avengers series. i completely fell in love with her in the fraction run, even cosplayed (badly) as her at my first comic con in paris, so it was quite a dream to see her come to life on screen... i'm still not realizing.
hawkeye comes with its flaws and i both absolutely love it and hate it. marvel made some questionable choices about her character (especially her origine story), but hailee did a phenomenal job at portraying her! i can't wait to see more of her.
also, the title is a direct reference to another character study i did of emily dickinson, this channel is getting meta

I cannot wait for more Kate Bishop, they really let her shine in the last episode - proved that she was worthy and ready for the mantel so Clint can retire. Easily top five favorite character in MCU.

What I love about Hailee’s performance is that she made Kate not afraid of being emotional. I love characters like that because that to me, is what makes a character lovable and relatable.

Watching this makes me realize one thing... Clint's hesitance on calling Kate his partner and their progress to become partners is like a beautiful way of grieving for Natasha, a partner he lost. As well as believing in himself to be worthy as a partner to anyone again.

The irony of that. Kate might be rich, but she never thought she was untouchable. She's confident and a little cocky, but unlike her mother, she doesn't think she can get away with anything just because of that. Eleanor Bishop frames her own fiance, tries to guilt trip her daughter, lies to her, and tries to kill the hero she idolizes all within a week. Kate is selfless, her mother is selfish.
Being a hero comes with a cost. You'll lose friends, you'll lose family, you'll get stabbed in the back. It takes strength to keep going despite those losses. Kate has always had that strength, her mother just never saw it.

thanks for the feedback. i do most of my edits with a 16:9 ratio, unless the edits are a character study or tribute. in these cases, i just use the original ratio for aesthetics purposes. since hawkeye was shot in cinemascope, i just kept the original format which is 1920x800.
