Has anyone mentioned that the Rinaldo statue is in Madeira airport (for obvious reasons) and not Lisbon airport? Also the British absolutely didn't try to claim Wilde. They emphasised his Irishness and Catholic Ireland unsurprisingly did nothing to counteract this. It's only very recently that Ireland has reclaimed him. And did Mike actually conflate homosexuality with paedophilia??
