great reaction . she is living in los angeles and going to school. her family have turned down 90 percent of all offers made to them, including all the major record labels and disney since she won norways got talent because they wanted her to have a normal childhood. so she is in great hands also now that they have chosen republic records angelina and her family have had nothing but good things to say about republic .

I'm 67 years old, and I was never really a Jazz fan, but this young lady has made me sit up and look at it with a different approach. I have heard quite a few covers of this song over the years, but there is absolutely none that I enjoyed the way I enjoy this one. How wise and refreshing. Here is my new updated bio for Angelina. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English, Japanese and Swedish. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. Also she performed on a tv show at 8 as a singer in a bar. at 10 she was chosen to sing two Alan Walker songs at hi huge concert in Norway. Her voice is only getting stronger and she's effortlessly crawling under our skin like she always did. Republic Records put Rob Christie on her side which seems to be working well so far. He's not only the boss of their LA studio but an experienced hand in the business. My impression of her is she knows exactly what she wants. Anyone trying to steer her away from that might find out thats not as easy as he thought😂 They tried to make her sing "Twinkey little star" as a kid at school. There's a hilarious video snippet of that. The emphasis beeing on "tried".

Angelina Jordan is a child prodigy born into a unique family. One of the only families I know of who put family values above money for them her education is more important grant it I don’t think the Astar family has ever had to worry about money her father is a oil engineer her grandmother is a well known artist from Iran ( child prodigy herself ) before she was a teenager she had already traveled the world, sang for prime ministers and presidents and celebrities. Yet because of her upbringing still just a humble little girl wanting to sing for the world. It doesn’t get any better than Angelina Jordan.

I could have so many comments, but I'll focus on one topic. Angelina is blessed to have a strong determination of what she wants, and a supportive family keeping her centered. She has a caring heart, and empathetic soul. In addition, she's had a number of mentors in the industry who seem to want what is best for her. In the past these have included Quincy Jones and David Foster. Most recently Rob Christie of Republic Records (her label) seems to have taken her under his wing and introduced her to some of the legends of jazz. He's also accompanied her on several of her recent recordings. Truly a generational artist and person.
Using an antique store for a back drop to give that old time feeling is genius. It fits perfectly and kudos to who had the idea. She is simply The Greatest of all Time. And definitely a great humble human being with a wonderful support team.

Her family are protective of her which is why she isn't more known than she is. With her talent they could easily have exploited it to make money, but instead they have supported her dreams and nurtured her talent, focusing on school and development and doing a few concerts a year. As far as I can tell her heart is still pure and passionate. If things don't go askew, I do expect her to be mentioned along with icons like Édith Piaf, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston (though based on their lifes, she will get there even if some things do get askew). You are not the only one to get fatherly worries for her. I don't worry about her professional career because she is so good it will take care of itself, but I do wish she will get a good life. I'm a huge fan and this performance is off the charts (no pun intended.) so going forward what material will ANGELINA release ? maybe a mixture of pop,jazz,soul,etc ,I would like to see songs with attitude with cool beats and of course whatever ANGELINA performs that unique voice will always have a jazzy feel. she wants to be a superstar imo it won't happen with just classic jazz. I love that her voice drew your wife in. When I first found her I would play her music without showing the video to my friends and family. I would ask them who they thought it was. Guesses were almost always the legends of the past, and that was when she was 7-10.
I have my computer hooked up to play in my work area as well. I forgot to shut that off so she heard it and thought I was just playing around. It was funny to see the surprise on her face when she realized I had my headphones on and recording.

Angelina gives me the impression of being a tough girl. She has always been precocious and I wouldn't bother with the wolves or leeches of the industry. Here, for example, she offers the complete homemade package, 3x1. She is a model, singer and director. She is a Renaissance artist of many talents. One day it might surprise us, perhaps neglect singing to become a film director, painter or writer. From what I understand it is not linked to money, it has given a good part of the millions it earned in charity and if it goes wrong it could earn a living by modeling, certainly it does not lack the body to be able to do it and would have fashion houses queued outside from its door, as before the musical houses.
I'm 66 and never heard of that Show and Tell. It would have been great to have! Loved Capt. Kangaroo and don't forget Mr. Greenjeans, LOL. She was listening to jazz music when she was really little thanks to her grandmother Mery (who she is very close to) and her love for it never ended. She is very grounded and surrounded by the love of her family, her mother Sara, her little sister Juliette, and her uncle/manager Michael. Even though she is signed to a major record label, Republic Records, the company and her family agreed to take it slow with Angelina and allow her to take her time and let her finish school and live a normal life as much as possible. She did announce during her virtual Christmas Concert that she is working on new music and planning on releasing a new album sometime this year. Also, she is going back to her homeland of Norway to perform in a couple of concerts around the summertime. This young lady is the real deal and I can't believe we are blessed to see the making and growth of this future superstar! Enjoy your Angelina ride because it is well worth it!

When she sang for the Peace Prize, even though having a bad cold, she insisted on performing, for it was a childhood dream and still sang barefoot keeping her promise. The other thing if you noticed she was making Modeling moves while the video was being shot. Angelina's work ethic is above and beyond belief and she hangs out with Heidi Klum and is taking up modeling. Angie is a perfectionist and has to Master anything she is involved in. That was a wonderful video and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Every time I see a reactor like yourself respond the way you did it brings me back to the first time I saw Angelina. I enjoy seeing that over and over LOL. I have a few things for you, actually more than a few. 1. Firstly, Angelina and Aurora are both Norwegian! There's the connection. 2. Angelina sings many different genres. Jazz and Blues and the classics are her specialty, but I have heard every genre except Opera. 3. Angelina is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices. When you say you like her voice, you are only partially right. The fact is you probably like her voices! She can adapt to any singer, song, or genre and adjust her tone and style and register to give props to the original artist and yet maintain her own style. Every song you hear she can sound different. In the ones you've heard, her voice is different in every one. This is an incredibly unique capability that I've never seen in any other singer. 4. Angelina has the ability to express emotion very strongly, even for events she has never experienced as a young person. Throughout her childhood, she could sing about love and loss and relationships for example, and the emotion she exhibited was believable. Another unheard of ability. 5. Angelina is surrounded by a wonderful family that is protecting her. From the time she was seven or eight, she had dozens of record labels banging the door down and they refused every one of them. Their goal was to protect Angelina and let her have a normal childhood and not promote her until she graduates high school, which is coming up soon. Angelina would likely be a worldwide phenomenon right now if they had not been holding back. But Republic records with whom she signed a year or two ago, is working with her on the family's terms and giving her independence with her music. 6. Angelina for the most part does her own arrangements. Many of the cover songs you hear sound like The originals to some extent but also have her take on it. When she did I put a spell on You at 9 years old, she was involved in the arrangements as was shown at the beginning of the video. Apparently she also directed the video for My Funny Valentine. 7. However, since Republic there have been many more of her originals blocked, in certain covers as well. Most reactors use a blurred screen to bypass the copyright issues. Angelina is the best, and you're pretty ok yourself. I'm a bit older than you and own thousands of records. I have many favorite performers and have seen several live, but I've NEVER listened to anyone better than Angelina on this song. Please check out her catalogue of over 160 songs. Her 4 performances on NGT at 7-8years old and her 3 AGT songs can't be left out. So many and they all end too soon. Bob Keeshan and his side kick Mr. Green Jeans were fun to watch in the 50's/60's. The hand puppet Lamb Chops, Howdy Doody etc. all great.

The video was shot in a furniture shop near where Angelina lives in L.A. So you could probably check it out if you can get to L.A. Angelina is managed (full time) by her uncle Michael Astar. Her mother Sara Astar and grandmother Mery Zemani moved to LA, with Angelina's younger sister, a couple of years ago in order to further Angelina's career. Angelina is still going to school and her parents make sure that she only does live concerts during school holidays. Michael organised a deal with Republic Records, about a year ago, for them to sign up with Angelina. Republic are not rushing Angelina and she has her first album on the way. She appears to be blessed with a strong, loving and stable family.

That said, we are lucky to live in a country where we have the resources to prevent us from destroying the welfare system, contrary to many other countries in the world. 3. AJ began singing at 18 months. Her grandmother was a jazz/blues fan and played that genre of music for AJ. She fell in love with it very early on and has even arranged most if not all that she sings from age 8. What an incredible talent.
4. Currently in 2022 she is in her mid-teenage years, stands 6 foot tall and still performs barefoot. The backstory of her encounter with the homeless girl she met while she traveled with her family through Iran at age 6 includes the weather damaged bare feet of the child she gave her own shoes to.

Oh, I know what you mean about struggling with adjectives to describe her. There is a young girl from Malaysia that I believe is around 9 or 10, that goes by KEIMEI on her RUclips channel, and she does reaction videos. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran.
Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English, Japanese and Swedish.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.

At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 6 year old.
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.
In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration.
Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14.

When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident.
On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year.
During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each.
In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT.
Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RUclips. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. One of the problems with so many people doing Angelina reactions, is that sometimes the good ones go under the radar. You are one of the good ones, and I have only just found your reactions to Angelina 12 days after you did the first. You have so much more to hear from Angelina. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 160 songs and over 70 artists. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.

Angelina Jordan is a child prodigy born into a unique family. One of the only families I know of who put family values above money for them her education is more important grant it I don’t think the Astar family has ever had to worry about money her father is a oil engineer her grandmother is a well known artist from Iran ( child prodigy herself ) before she was a teenager she had already traveled the world, sang for prime ministers and presidents and celebrities. Yet because of her upbringing still just a humble little girl wanting to sing for the world. It doesn’t get any better than Angelina Jordan.
She's so lucky to have such a caring and "smart" family surrounding her!

I could have so many comments, but I'll focus on one topic. Angelina is blessed to have a strong determination of what she wants, and a supportive family keeping her centered. She has a caring heart, and empathetic soul. In addition, she's had a number of mentors in the industry who seem to want what is best for her. In the past these have included Quincy Jones and David Foster. Most recently Rob Christie of Republic Records (her label) seems to have taken her under his wing and introduced her to some of the legends of jazz. He's also accompanied her on several of her recent recordings. Truly a generational artist and person.
There's so much to look forward from her. Can't wait.

Her family are protective of her which is why she isn't more known than she is. With her talent they could easily have exploited it to make money, but instead they have supported her dreams and nurtured her talent, focusing on school and development and doing a few concerts a year. As far as I can tell her heart is still pure and passionate. If things don't go askew, I do expect her to be mentioned along with icons like Édith Piaf, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston (though based on their lifes, she will get there even if some things do get askew). You are not the only one to get fatherly worries for her. I don't worry about her professional career because she is so good it will take care of itself, but I do wish she will get a good life. Far from all celebrities do.

I'm a huge fan and this performance is off the charts (no pun intended.) so going forward what material will ANGELINA release ? maybe a mixture of pop,jazz,soul,etc ,I would like to see songs with attitude with cool beats and of course whatever ANGELINA performs that unique voice will always have a jazzy feel. she wants to be a superstar imo it won't happen with just classic jazz. I love that her voice drew your wife in. When I first found her I would play her music without showing the video to my friends and family. I would ask them who they thought it was. Guesses were almost always the legends of the past, and that was when she was 7-10.

Angelina gives me the impression of being a tough girl. She has always been precocious and I wouldn't bother with the wolves or leeches of the industry. Here, for example, she offers the complete homemade package, 3x1. She is a model, singer and director. She is a Renaissance artist of many talents. One day it might surprise us, perhaps neglect singing to become a film director, painter or writer. From what I understand it is not linked to money, it has given a good part of the millions it earned in charity and if it goes wrong it could earn a living by modeling, certainly it does not lack the body to be able to do it and would have fashion houses queued outside from its door, as before the musical houses.
I'm pretty sure that she can basically do anything she wants! Why didn't I get any of that talent? HA

She was listening to jazz music when she was really little thanks to her grandmother Mery (who she is very close to) and her love for it never ended. She is very grounded and surrounded by the love of her family, her mother Sara, her little sister Juliette, and her uncle/manager Michael. Even though she is signed to a major record label, Republic Records, the company and her family agreed to take it slow with Angelina and allow her to take her time and let her finish school and live a normal life as much as possible.
She did announce during her virtual Christmas Concert that she is working on new music and planning on releasing a new album sometime this year. Also, she is going back to her homeland of Norway to perform in a couple of concerts around the summertime. This young lady is the real deal and I can't believe we are blessed to see the making and growth of this future superstar! Enjoy your Angelina ride because it is well worth it!

When she sang for the Peace Prize, even though having a bad cold, she insisted on performing, for it was a childhood dream and still sang barefoot keeping her promise. The other thing if you noticed she was making Modeling moves while the video was being shot. Angelina's work ethic is above and beyond belief and she hangs out with Heidi Klum and is taking up modeling. Angie is a perfectionist and has to Master anything she is involved in. That was a wonderful video and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Every time I see a reactor like yourself respond the way you did it brings me back to the first time I saw Angelina. I enjoy seeing that over and over LOL.
I have a few things for you, actually more than a few.
1. Firstly, Angelina and Aurora are both Norwegian! There's the connection.
2. Angelina sings many different genres. Jazz and Blues and the classics are her specialty, but I have heard every genre except Opera.
3. Angelina is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices. When you say you like her voice, you are only partially right. The fact is you probably like her voices! She can adapt to any singer, song, or genre and adjust her tone and style and register to give props to the original artist and yet maintain her own style. Every song you hear she can sound different. In the ones you've heard, her voice is different in every one. This is an incredibly unique capability that I've never seen in any other singer.
4. Angelina has the ability to express emotion very strongly, even for events she has never experienced as a young person. Throughout her childhood, she could sing about love and loss and relationships for example, and the emotion she exhibited was believable. Another unheard of ability.
5. Angelina is surrounded by a wonderful family that is protecting her. From the time she was seven or eight, she had dozens of record labels banging the door down and they refused every one of them. Their goal was to protect Angelina and let her have a normal childhood and not promote her until she graduates high school, which is coming up soon. Angelina would likely be a worldwide phenomenon right now if they had not been holding back. But Republic records with whom she signed a year or two ago, is working with her on the family's terms and giving her independence with her music.
6. Angelina for the most part does her own arrangements. Many of the cover songs you hear sound like The originals to some extent but also have her take on it. When she did I put a spell on You at 9 years old, she was involved in the arrangements as was shown at the beginning of the video. Apparently she also directed the video for My Funny Valentine.
7. I'm sure you have an extensive list of songs that are recommended. Likely many of the ones I would recommend you already have. However I will give you one that you may or may not have which is probably the best example of pure blues and jazz that I've seen. She was only 11 years old in an outdoor concert. However, since Republic there have been many more of her originals blocked, in certain covers as well. Most reactors use a blurred screen to bypass the copyright issues. I think most have success with It although there is no rhyme or reason.
@@ronraskind I get a lot of videos blocked, but most of them normally clear up. I get it. People are always trying to steal things, but I'm glad many of the copyright owners can see the difference. I've had good luck with hers. Hope that doesn't change.

Angelina is the best, and you're pretty ok yourself. I'm a bit older than you and own thousands of records. I have many favorite performers and have seen several live, but I've NEVER listened to anyone better than Angelina on this song. Please check out her catalogue of over 160 songs. Her 4 performances on NGT at 7-8years old and her 3 AGT songs can't be left out. So many and they all end too soon.
Bob Keeshan and his side kick Mr. Green Jeans were fun to watch in the 50's/60's. The hand puppet Lamb Chops, Howdy Doody etc. all great.

The video was shot in a furniture shop near where Angelina lives in L.A. So you could probably check it out if you can get to L.A.
Angelina is managed (full time) by her uncle Michael Astar. Her mother Sara Astar and grandmother Mery Zemani moved to LA, with Angelina's younger sister, a couple of years ago in order to further Angelina's career. Angelina is still going to school and her parents make sure that she only does live concerts during school holidays. Michael organised a deal with Republic Records, about a year ago, for them to sign up with Angelina. Republic are not rushing Angelina and she has her first album on the way. She appears to be blessed with a strong, loving and stable family.
That's such a wonderful thing to hear. Not sure if I'll ever make it to LA, that darn Las Vegs keeps getting in the way of my westward travels. Ha.

@@branscombeR To assign Norwegian culture the reason for us pt having two of the world's best singer artists I think is a bit far fetched. Regard it primarily as a coincidence. That said, we are lucky to live in a country where we have the resources to prevent us from destroying the welfare system, contrary to many other countries in the world. That, of course, may lay the ground for talented people to spend time and energy developing their skills and dreams. I would say that should be one of the primary goals of a well functioning social democratic system. I would be excited about hearing from the two artists in question how they elaborate around these questions...

I have heard every performance by the Barefoot Angel since she recorded her first song at 6 yo at her school's recording studio in Norway until now at 16 yo. And I have heard reactors and viewers repeat that she has reached a higher level year after year.
For me, Angelina is at higher level each time she sings, period.
She definitely leaves me speechless at times. What a talent.

( Angelina has a family that is very protective of her and her career, they have turned down countless big wigs from all music producers coming to her big bucks to sign with them , even turned down a massive offer from Disney World .
Her uncle is her manager. The family wanted her to have as normal a child hood as possible given her immense talent and they would not let anyone make merchandise of her as a child.
But since she has turned 16 and almost out of school they are letting her out more and allowed her to sign with Republic Records , but the stipulation was that she would control what she did and how she did it and not dictate her agenda .
When republic records get the go ahead from the family , they will probably start a massive promotion of her and the rest of the world will be amazed as we are who know and love her.)

Angelina had over 500 million views of her singing videos before her performance on AGT The Champions now her views are in the billions . Angelina has been well known all over the world except in America not so much up until her AGT Champions mini concert.
When performed her own arrangements of " Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Yellow brick Road".
