Thanks Saurabh for sharing a fresh perspective, would have loved to hear about some methods used in momentum, how to scan for ideas etc., mayb try to include in next one. Thanks again
I will do the honors :) plus looks through the resources shared by Manish. Lot to consume there. . In fact, did a webinar on this last year. Got good turnout.
That was a no nonsense overview of MI, Thanks. Q - how do you manage volatility in momentum investing wrt entries/exit? there was a time when ATGL went through fear psychosis and got dumped and after that went onto give 2x returns. so in system based MI one would exit in panic and enter again when it regains momentum? Thanks.
@@raghavr2151 Yes Raghu. ATGL was part of MWM. Momentum investing would have these outliers from time to time. You don;'t manage anything, it gets managed itself. When stock starts hitting LC, you will not get exits, like for example in ATGL we got exit after a week of LC. but even with all that it was a 250% + gain for us. and we are again long on the stock now. Point is, all the volatility is part of the process, part of backtests. our job is to just keep emotions away and follow the system.
Manish, I felt elated on seeing Ramana Maharishi and Rahul Dravid!! Now that I know they are watching your back, would be lot easier to susbscribe to your products :-)
So far in your investing career (fund manager - managing others' money) was there a period when you were like - "Oh God! Why am I doing this work? I will exit and never look at this field again...."
Wonderful to listen to Manish Dhawan, thank you so much saurabh for getting great people on your show.
Thanks Saurabh and Manish for this wonderful session! :-)
