Russian 4+ generation aircraft:
ruclips.net/video/dDsK6RQjwxA/видео.html from '2:04
or this
ruclips.net/video/Jks6TTFsglk/видео.html Special attention from '6:29
In the film, the SU-57 is better among Russians than 4+.
just if you are interested the jet in the beginning is actually being developed and actual military designers worked on the movie model however in reality it is designed to break mach 5 not mach 10
Great reaction video! Giving love! TY
Just to let you all know. Penny is the Admiral's daughter they mentioned in first movie. So yeah they have history.
Yeah most people including me missed that at first, however what an awesome call back
Penny Benjamin
@@recoil2952 thank you
@@karenkeby99hii😊
“It’s time to let go” - he doesn’t mean “you’re too old for this, retire.” He means it’s time to let go of what happened to Goose.
I don't think they have critical thinking skills
@@hopeforhobixo5142😂
@@hopeforhobixo5142when they talk the entire time it's no wonder they don't retain information.
Y
Penny was referenced in the first movie a couple of times but we never meet the character. She is the admiral's daughter.
Ah, I remember that line in the first movie. Thanks.
Every shot with a jet it in or the actors in the cockpit is 100% real even when rooster hit his head on the canopy (Actually wasn’t supposed to even happened but looked so good they kept it in) and Tom cruise was not allowed to fly any of the jets in the movie except the end where he’s flying his personal plane!
yeah.. even the scenes where he flies in between the jets
@@QuakenRaimon what do you think I meant when I said “every shot with a jet in it”?
@@jdavis54 I was being sarcastic
They aren't just going to let a pilot fly a multi-million dollar aircraft in between 2 other multi-million dollar aircraft for a movie scene and if that was done in real life most likely all 3 aircraft would be destroyed
@@QuakenRaimon I don’t think you understand buddy. Tom cruise said he’s not doing this movie unless it’s all real! And in case you don’t know it was blue angel pilots flying in the movie so like I said 100% of jets flying in this movie is all real
it's literally not tho lol multiple scenes were cgi
By the way, if you want to see a great Miles Teller film, checkout Whiplash. Great film with lots of intensity. Also that is the film J.K. Simmons won his Academy Award for. J.K. plays one of the greatest film villains of all-time in this film. My personal ranking 2nd best film villain of all-time to Heath Ledger’s Joker being #1.
Yes! And diff actor but similar movie with Jake, Nightcrawler
Rt tv reacting to whiplash and nightcrawler!!? If only
This movie in IMAX was BEYOND LEGENDARY
8:10 is not bullshit, it's not like he ejected like a normal jet with just a parachute... The blackbird ejects the pilot inside a pressurized hard capsule
Jennifer Connely is 52 years old, and still looks good in this movie.
that whole last bit after maverick got shot down blew me away in the theaters, bruh, some movie theaters got moving seats, its literally insane
Thumbs up on the sophistication of your post-film discussion. A bunch of guys who know what a disaster Hollywood can be when it comes to . . .what the red hat guy said . . . cash grab.
TopGun would have been a cash grab were it not for Cruise and Bruckheimer. For the first 10 years they were just busy. It could not get made because they were busy. Then Cruise became Cruise and nobody can push things onto him now. He is who he is, and he said no. He also has matured a TON. He says now, repeatedly, I exist to entertain. Everything about him is to entertain and he actually cares about the industry as a whole. Will Smith has talked about Cruise and what Cruise does for other actors. Smith: Y'all may not know this business. I do. What Tom does for people is not how this business works.
So Cruise said -- No TG2 unless we can do it practical with a first class script. Camera technology had to evolve to function at 8 Gs. And even hanging outside looking at the barrier coming towards them landing on the carrier with no nose gear. He put the actors through an aviation training course to get them ready because they were in 2 seat aircraft with a Navy pilot flying and they had to adjust cameras, adjust their own makeup and then act with their faces and dialog while enduring Gs. Impressive as hell.
Last point the second tier actors have said in TG Mav promotion interviews. Tom Cruise has made them stars. The film was ready 3 years before release and Cruise said no, not until theaters re-fill. So the phones were not ringing for them until the box office numbers arrived. Then the phones never stop ringing for Coyote and Phoenix and Bob and Charles Parnell and all the rest. Cruise has made them stars. They will all have great careers ------ and be collectively too busy tobe available at the same time for another TopGun. Another sequel is going to be difficult.
Great analysis, and totally spot on, I agree with everything said!
Greg Tarzan Davis (Coyote) then got a role in Tom Cruise's new Mission Impossible for example.
Been saying this easily my fav movie last year the feeling this movie gave me was something I never felt for years 🔥
I hope someone corrects Rob on everything he said about the reality of aerodynamics, and Tom Cruise just being in good shape compared to others.
Oh and watch Collateral, another awesome Tom Cruise movie.
Everyone corrects Rob everyday lol
If y'all want top tier Ed Harris antagonist you have to do The Rock if you haven't seen it. And I don't care what anyone says, Tom Cruise is a true blue movie star lol
Half of this reaction is Rob low-key being thirsty for Tom Cruise. lol
I don't blame him
Hangman really is the best kind of movie douche: the one who’s technically right
(This movie is a 10)
Penny Benjamín was mentioned in the first film when Maverick and Goose were getting there butts chewed by the Captain on the aircraft carrier. The Captain said something like "and one fly over of an Admiral's daughter" and Goose says "Penny Benjamin?" and Maverick just shakes his head.
Gooses wife name drops her too at the bar. "Goose told me all about the time you went ballistic with Penny Benjamin."
Out of all the reactions I have seen and folks I spoke to on the movie EVERYONE misses the Skunk Works logo on the tail and stick of the experimental plane in the beginning.
Best sequels all time any order:
Capt America winter soldier.
Bad boys 2
The Empire strikes back
Top gun Maverick
Aliens
Beverly Hills cop 2
Godfather 2
That's a damn good list.
Terminator 2 belongs on every list.
The practical effects of this film are some of the best in the modern era of film making. CGI is really good but it doesn't replace the real thing.
Big up RTTV👏👏🔥You guys are great and I loved your reaction/analysis of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’👍. I watched it twice at the theaters and I loved it. Keep up the good work, take care and have a good one😁❤️
24:02, despite being an impulsive adrenaline junkie. Maverick was doing the damned job. Look at all of those ribbons and medals 🤯
I know this is a super small detail but yall asked.. in order to achieve incredibly high speed flight, they actually have to get close to the edge of space to due the minimal air density. In all reality the jet wouldn't be able to get anywhere close to that speed (if it were real) if it where even remotely close to the Earth's surface. Hope this helps a bit :)
Mach 10 speed has never been achieved by a manned aircraft, though, so it has never been tested. Mach 10 has, however, been achieved by a spacecraft - on November 16, 2004, NASA launched the X-43A, an air-breathing hypersonic vehicle, and was able to reach real Mach 10 while being pushed into the atmosphere.
Scram Jet engines are literally best for mach 6 to 12. What do you mean not be able to get anywhere close to that speed lol
@@shaycormac1745 It seems like everyone's missing the whole *"if it were anywhere close to Earth's surface"* part. You're correct that scram jets can theoretically do those speeds (though again the only time this has happened was on a NASA launch as it broke into orbit), but it doesn't negate the fact that air density near the surface wouldn't allow them to get close to that speed *if he was lower*.
@@So_Sag that's correct, but what I'm saying is that the air is too dense near the surface of the Earth for the jet to get anywhere close to those speeds. They had asked in the video why Maverick was flying that close to space, so I wanted to give context.
@@So_Sag The X-43A's speed record stands at Mach 9.6 not 10. Details matter.
Was just checking to see if this uploaded and I'm so excited to see it! Love your reactions!
Best Tom Cruise movie? Y’all clearly ain’t watch Collateral. React to that. Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx in LA
well played for putting respect on Hangman, a lot of people just see him as the mean antagonist
Saying this is “Fast & the Furious” is kind of stupid. Mach 10 isn’t posdible right now but it’s possible. FF series defies the laws of physics and reality. Fast & the Furious is closer to the MCU than reality. Dude always has bad tales in these reactions.
Rob really bothered by Tom Cruise's age 😂😂
My subscription ended halfway through the movie and I don’t wanna watch the cut version so now I’m just pissed off 🤣
And btw Jon Hamm was an actual full bird Colonel before he became an actor. That's probably why the producers and the director chose him for that small role.
MACH represents the speed of sound in a given medium, so in flight, Mach 1 represents the speed of sound in air, Mach 2 would be 2x the speed of sound in air. Basically doing Mach is breaking the sound barrier and you would hear a sonic boom. The fastest a man has flow is MACH 9.6
A superstar movie from a super star actor Tom Cruise.
Guy in the middle missed half the movie looking at the phone....
Pat is one of the slower people we have on youtube
The jet at the beginning is a real plane that flies that fast and its called the darkstar. Show it to the nonbeliever to ya left my guy. 😂 love ya Rob.
Yes, this is definitely a must-watch in theaters. In IMAX it was insane
Also the P-51 Mustang WWII propeller fighter plane AKA The Angels on our shoulders at the end of the movie is Tom Cruise's P-51 Mustang
By the way I just want to say, your guys’ thumbnails are fire!!!! I haven’t seen anyone else’s that looks better!
Love these guys! Great review and one of the best movies I ever seen!
The Only CGI used was the 1st scene with the Mach 10 jet… only reason it had CGI is because its a REAL plane Lockhead Martin is currently developing and is so top Secret they couldnt show the actual blueprints / look of the plane… Makes it even more badass.
the space shuttle does Mach 20 plus, but it actually goes into space, Mach 10 inside ethe atmosphere, not sure if its possible, yet, I have seen 7 and 8 though
Of course the part in the beginning with Dark Star was fake, that technology isnt there yet for that i dont believe. But the ejection part i'm guessing they would explain by the whole pressurized cabin he is in ejects out of the craft and not just the pilot.
This film is among the Best sequels ever made. A film better than the original is some Godfather shit!
WAYYYY better at that. First one was a summer blockbuster. This was a masterpiece.
@@clevelandcbi Facts! It's honor the first film and made room for the next chapter. I would watch a Rooster spin-off film.
This was better than the first and I grew up with the first one, it was awesome, I even joined the Navy afterwards because it was so great. But this one’s story, characters, and action was on another level.
0:55 Not intended I know, but that was such a spot-on Wookie sound impression!
One of the best reactions I’ve seen, y’all are hilarious.
That's Tom's P51 Mustang he's flying in the end credits. Always been my favorite plane.. since I was 7. My brother became a pilot, then flew as a bush pilot in Alaska, then for Fed Ex.. did very well for himself. Lived in Philippines for 18 years flying over there.. Crazy! When my grandpa died my dad then had enough money to buy a plane and a hanger. 35 years ago.. he's been gone for 17 years. I got my private pilots license in '97. Not current anymore, but I did it.
9:07 Fun fact, Ed Harris (Admiral Caine) and Glen Powell (Hangman) have both portrayed real life astronaut John Glenn .
Tom owns and flies that P51. That's him flying at the end of the movie
React to Collateral, Tom Cruise and Jaime Foxx top tier movie
22:06 basically the whole theater gasped at this part lol. One of the ladies near me damn near jumped out of her seat
u talked over Maverick telling Penny about GOOSE`s wife request. she did not want Rooster to be a pilot. she made Maverick pull his papers to the naval academy.
Phenomenal movie. Cant wait til the next one!
Penny Benjamin is the Admiral's daughter mentioned in the beginning of the first movie before he gets to go to Top Gun
This and the last samurai are his best performances imo
its so funny how rob is the one always making points about different topics but make it sound like gas lighting lol
Ain't no 3rd, this the end🤷🏿♂️
These next gen jets have pods that seperate completely from the plane similar to the cockpit of Gran Prix racers. A pilot in a seat would be destroyed but a pod could decelerate safely until a pilot could pop a chute.
Bro that was exactly what i was thinking before its like the cockipit itself is a pod that seperates from the combustible parts of the plane
F-111 had the pod system.
I Remember the 1st time I climbed into the front seat of a Tomcat, Martin/Baker Seat, I was in an attack squadron, my friend in a fighter squadron, same Seat, different aircraft. Still, to sit in a fighter vs a bomber is too cool.
Y’all talked right over the part where he explained why he pulled his papers
And every other part lol
no planes that go nearly that fast that us civilians know of at the very least. however the first plane you see was a concept based off the sr-71 which can hit mach 3 (the blackbird) which is basically just a dumbed down version of what we saw in that scene.
fun fact: The SR-72 Son of Blackbird "Darkstar" would cost just below 1B$ (US), so crashing that would be the screw up of all screw ups
It is pretty accurate the concept of the old gen being useful againt the new gen of fighters in the case of a dogfight. Some experts said that the stealth factor is the only reason the F35 can take on the F16. The F35 was not meant for dog fights so if an F35 finds itself in a dogfight with an F16 something went terribly wrong and most likely its gonna lose against the F16.
fun watching your videos. I have two request though. 1) Mover the Microphone a little further away from Wilkins-rt, he blows out our eardrums when he yells. 2) Can you provide translation/ subtitles when Robcityrt is speaking?
My daughter calls him Fred Flintstone. Says everything sounds like he's mumbling "Yabba Dabba Doo"
7:53 They have ejection pods B-58A Escape Capsule
Definitely definitely RUclips the making of Maverick. It’s so freaking cool.
Great movie reaction and great after discussion . :)
I feel the need! The need… for speed!!
The SR 71 blackbird pushed mach 3 roughly 242 miles per hour it was the first jet to reach Earth's crest and out ran missiles.
Dark Star was so welĺ built, chinese military officials actually retasked one of their intelligence satellites to fly over the area where Darkstar was parked during shooting outside, because they could tell if it was real or not.
Damn YT hit them on part 1 before I could even watch! Hope they can reupload it soon.
Same
watched this movie last night. i think im in love w phoenix
Yeah Phoenix is a hottie for sure.
It was pretty great, but I'm going to suggest Cruise's best film was "Born on the Fourth of July", or maybe "Magnolia". Then there was "A Few Good Men", and the underappreciated "Vanilla Sky".
Experimental aircraft like that don’t have ejection seats. They have ejection modules. The entire cockpit which is enclosed is ejected with a parachute. So yes, you can survive when your aircraft breaks up at Mach 10
We have a jet called the Sr71 Blackbird that came out in the 60s and can fly like the Darkstar but only at Mach 3
Before it was declassified my teacher showed us a video of his grandfather that worked on area 51. He had Alzheimer's and he was talking in the video real crazy like none of it made sense but what he did keep on repeating was he made an invisible plane when he worked there and lord behold what he was talking about was declassified later. Ofc this was all declassified by the time we were shown this video back in 2015. The VHS date said 89 on it tho and it was a real vhs too not some video he had.
The SR-71 can actually do better than Mach 3. They just have never figured out what is it’s true max speed.
Actually one of the more interesting industry debates at the end of the reaction among all RUclips reactors.
You guys should definitely react to city of God or Donnie Darko, both some 10/10 movies that would be great for reactions !
And there’s no CGI in this movie so If you were about to ask if that first fly over was real, yeah It was. Pretty sure they said It was one take because It destroyed that building and the shot was perfect.
Most definitely is CGI in this movie
You can actually eject at far higher speeds - during the first years of the Soviet Union's manned space program, the cosmonauts would have to eject from their capsules due to tumbling on reentry
Nah the best Cruise is Collateral.
It's sad when people can't accept that some of the scenes are real lol. Tom is a real pilot and he loves it
Bro I was like damn it sucks y’all haven’t seen this movie and bam you guys fucking react to it
When the roof came off that guard shack it was all real and unplanned.
awesome reaction
The Space Shuttle went Mach 25 over 17000 MPH - when going supersonic or hypersonic, you do NOT eject, the cockpit ejects as a whole unit. Yes, they need to fly below 5000, but in training the "Hard deck" is the 'make believe' ground. You do not fly for even 1 millisecond underground. - Sorry, ex- Navy Aviation here. Don't mean to be so critical. Val Kilmer is dying in real life. It was amazing he could do this movie. He has some sort of throat cancer. Tom Cruise demanded that no one fill in for him and that it had to be Val Kilmer playing Ice.
The space shuttle travels faster then mach 10, upon reentry.
First my mom was crazy about tom cruise and now my daughter is crazy about him.
What tf is happening?😭
What I loved about this movie is that even for just a moment none of the divisive negativity we see every day was apparent. Everyone in the theater seemed to feel a sense of American pride again. Maybe thats just me.
Exactly none of the bullshit woke shit.
I felt the American pride too.
That is Tom’s actual P51 Mustang at the beginning and end of the film.
Great reaction ❤😊awesome sequel 😊
for me its always funny when americans say it looks like star wars when they have the most advanced military technology and so on after them are chnese but we all know that we dont know the true potential of both militaries because true potential is shown when the game is on soo yeah
Yall should look up the "SR-71 BLACKBIRD"
Thumbsdown at "virtual protective network."
6:41 Tell dude to Google the SR-71 Blackbird to see the altitude info.
These type aircrafts use ejection pods shielding the pilot from the atmosphere instead of the pilot punching out at high speeds which would be fatal.
He said its "STARFOX!!!"
you seriously miss part of the movie because you fact checking on the phone... come on bruh.... lol
Fastest jet recorded is mach 6.72 or 4520 miles per hour
in this movie a lot of the jet scenes are actually real they all had to get their jet license for this movie and tom cruise has over 5 jet licenses
FYI space shuttles top speed is 17,500mph
Proablly my favorite movie ever
Fun fact Tom cruise taught the cast how to fly real Air Force jet’s for the movie and he flew his own
The cast didn't fly them, they were in the back of them tho and still had to train for it.
@@bethparker1427 yea but he still did teach to fly them the cats said that themselves
Guy who played Hangman kept up with it and actually got his pilot's license afterward.
