Final breaths and pathetic whispers still drift through the peripheries of my mind as I stand atop this hill adorned with three graves. Rest in peace, my love. My flame. Knowing you would be there when these atrocities came to an end was, at times, my sole purpose for continuing on. I suppose not all is as its meant to be in the end. Rest in peace, my son. My heart. I was supposed to forge a bright future for you, but now it is all burned to cinders. You were meant to be greater than I ever was, but now you've become the same as those I've slain in your name. I could never ask for your forgiveness, even if you still lived. Rest in peace, my brother. My rock. Though we are not blood, the bonds we forged in battle are stronger than most could ever hope to have in their lives. I hereby dedicate my life to your memory, and swear an oath to right these wrongs until the day we meet again. All that is left now is to heed the call of the Scholastum. Perhaps if I had listened sooner, then none of this would have come to pass. It is too late to think this way now. I have an oath to uphold, and a clear path ahead. I cannot afford to hesitate now, not when the hopes and dreams of so many dead rest on my shoulders...
