Not the 70’s. But they did do songs about Religion in the early 70’s. This song is from 2013. Ozzy said this song is loosely based on work/theory of Fredrick Neichze.
In general their lyrics in many songs deal with fight between good and evil in every person and how we must try to choose love and not hate others. This song is from their last LP some years ago not from 70s They grew up after WWII they were lower class young kids when Vietnam war happened all that affected them
Great job! Remember, God hates religion! By the way, this was written in the 2010's. The lyrics were written by the bass player Geezer Butler, who was raised Catholic.
