I think it was her way of telling her sister of how flawed the "logic" is without outing herself as a traitor to that philosophy. At least, back when she pretended to be on the Witness' side.
What Eris is doing is simple, accoding to the sword logic, Eris is stronger than Oryx. The manner in which she attained godhood was by taking it, meaning she is not burdened by the same weaknesses Xivu is, and finally, her domain, vengence. In declaring herself the godess of vengence, Eris has given herself a similar dynamo that Xivu has. Xivu's own desire to avenge Oryx now feeds Eris. Every death done in the pursuit of vengence feeds her power. Just as every act of war feeds Xivu Arath. We're not just fighting fire with fire, we're fighting fire with a nuclear bomb.
It’s funny this is where the story is going because I came to this conclusion in lost when kellgorth was shown and I was like what beats death? Seemed the most op god but then I thought vengeance would be the ultimate weapon for fighting hive they have thousands of worlds under there belt lots of fuel for the fire

I imagine, if Eris does survive this season, she’ll play a big role in helping us hunt down the remaining three Worm Gods. They may lie even beyond Sol. Mara Sov even stated, “without the Worm Gods to replenish their numbers, the Hive would die off in a few generations”. I’m paraphrasing, but, they’d essentially become like a flame, flickering to an ember, then, snuffing out. The Hive, as a flame, take away the fuel that keeps them alive, then they fizzle out from attrition. Just as Oryx once feared.

It's incredibly fitting then that Eris is becoming the Hive God of Vengeance as vengeance was Oryx's main motivation for coming to the Sol system. In his introduction to his Boss fight in the Regicide mission his exact words are "Finally! I will have vengeance!" Eris is basically carrying the torch of his last motivating will, to her own ends of course.
Oryx in the campaign spoke a little too goofy but when you look at his dialogue in the books of sorrow, this man sounds like he's got an several PhDs in history, philosophy, language, biology, and so much more shit 😭
Technically, Eris set us on the path to her ascension. We were her instrument of vengeance. Even tho we didn't take the throne after slaying Oryx, she gladly did. And we didn't see it til now.
Immaru sounds surprisingly agitated for us following Savathun's plan. In another dialouge Savathun asks Immaru to be subtle about this whole thing but he's going against her wishes by being 100% transparent. Its almost like he wants us to abort this plan. Maybe the final step involves something Immaru is dreading. Maybe Eris will have to give a final death to Savathun to get powerful enough to challenge Xivu Arath, just like Oryx killed his sisters to challenge Akka.
Like Toland, Immaru is LIVID about our direction in this, unable to grasp GUARDIANS MAKE THEIR OWN DESTINY! Light or NO light!! Let the apostate rage. His attitude is little better than Xivus: Hes acting like a petty child because things are not transpiring to HIS designs. Or Savathuuns. His "Guardian" He'll see soon enough, sword logic, bladed path, whatever: Xivu falls, and the lucent brood who follow her will be our next major allies of the Tower

I have the headcannon that it was Hugo Weaving, compare Oryx’s voice to Megatron from Transformers 2007 and the resemblance is uncanny, especially since both voices were modified artificially especially since the actor “goes to some dark places when they record” and Hugo Weaving has been known to get deep into some of his roles It wouldn’t be the only time a celebrity voice has been uncredited in destiny. I’m 99 percent certain that Nokris was voiced by Robert England

If you watch the compilation of the Gravemind dialogue on youtube some of it sounds like it could easily come from Oryx as well. Dee Bradley Baker does voice Variks as well, after all. The only thing is why wouldn't he want to be known as the voice for Oryx? That man has serious vocal talent, I don't see why he wouldn't want to be credited for it.

Eris is allowing Xivu and Savathun to think herself is to join them as a replacement for Oryx. But, Eris could very well take Xivu off the board. Permanently. Maybe take the information from Savathun using Deepsight and Strand. Subdue and weaken Savathun, only to keep close watch on the Witch Queen after she possibly flees. Then, kill off Savathun and her brood, hunt down the Worm Gods, after the Witness is dealt with. And then, when the Osmium dynasty has fallen, the Worm Gods and Witness too, the Gaurdibs and Coalition can pick off what remains of the Witness’ dead, dying, or retreating forces, and then, kill whatever is left of the Hive that hasn’t died to their worms. In the end, very few enemies would remain to threaten Sol, and the Hive would be extinct. Of course, that’s just my theory.

Mara constructed her throne world using wish magic through riven long before the taken king descended on the sol system. As a matter of fact, the reason why her throne is shattered is because oryx went in there, recked up the place, then took Riven. Though Riven tricked Oryx into taking her via a wish, which is what allowed her to retain free will after Oryx's death.
Mara came out on top all things considered, but she did pay dearly for it. Everytime she is resurrected, she has to fight her way out of her own throne world. Not to mention all the awoken lives that were lost to bring her plan to fruition, notably Uldren Sov, who fell to darkness in pursuit of a voice claiming to be his sister. Without her guidance, he was weak, vulnerable, because that is what Mara made him out to be.

This probably kills Eris as Hive, but she has a small throne world now, and probably has some knowledge of how a Hive oversoul works to ensure her survival.
