Till 2016, I was 24 and a leftist Bengali . Did my college in St. Xaviers. Then I completely turned around when I started reading the Upanishads and found it immensely liberating. I also read Being Different from Rajiv Malhotra. I am huge fan of western fantasy novels like Lord of the Rings, etc. When I read the Puranas, my imagination exploded with ideas. A computer scientist by profession but my love for Indian philosophy, architecture and history wants me to produce some literature on India. My suggestion to young college students and high school students who love western culture, films , architecture, etc. is read both western and Indian and only then can you appreciate world cultures and develop a sense of refinement that can be truly original.
They read Gita, Upanishad and know deep information but many of us could not do that. Just because we like their culture doesn't mean our culture is inferior. I am proud I am Hindu. I am proud I am Indian.

I been living in United States for last 7 years, came here when I was 20. I use to think that India was so uncool and United States is so modernized. In all likelihood, he would gather the tribal people in the jungle and become their king. Instead, it would be better for him to continue doing his duty born of his nature, and worship God by offering the fruits of his works to him. When one becomes spiritually accomplished the swa-dharma changes. It no longer remains at the bodily platform; it becomes the dharma of the soul, which is devotion to God. At that stage, one is justified in giving up occupational duties and engaging wholeheartedly in devotion because that is now the swa-dharma of one’s nature. For people with that eligibility, Shree Krishna will give the final conclusion in the end of the Bhagavad Gita: “Give up all varieties of dharmas and simply surrender unto me.” (18.66) However, until that stage is reached, the instruction given in this verse applies. I used to be a very secular person who wanted everyone to live in peace. Its been quite sometime i realised that that is only a pipedream when there are people who just wants to rule over you and demand things you are not ok with, i started believing that being a hindu i will strongly celebrate my culture.
For me, one of the major reason this culture has survived is because of mothers in my house. No matter how much people downgrade and hate hinduism, mothers in my house are always so dedicated to practice and make the whole house practice hinduism and hindu rituals.

But the GREAT CM of Karnataka wants to create a separate education policy for the state. I don't understand why people are against Hindi and Sanskrit. There is a misconception among people that NEP 2020 imposes Hindi and Sanskrit but on the contrary it says that students will be educated in their mother tongue or regional language up-to 5th grade. People still believe in politicians' statements rather than facts.
Hindi and Sanskrit is imposition but English is emancipation. This is the fruit of our current, 70 year, ongoing education. I can understand if people say Hindi is imposition but how is Sanskrit imposition but not English.

I actually agree with this. I'm a non clinical therapist and in my cares, for 90% of them, it's result of immaturity in emotions and emotional response
It's not even remotely easy to even think logically during depression,let alone take control of your emotions I also deeply value the complexity of Hindu culture and its role in instilling confidence in Indians but I really don't believe in pseudosciences like mudras, homeopathy,gaumutra etc as it is not based on logic and Sadhguru continuously promotes such ideas
It’s right. Many of these cases are cases of behavioural corrections. Even psychiatrists don’t directly start prescribing medicines like barbiturates and all. They ask for behavioural therapy. Meditation sessions. Many of them find betterment with that. Only in severe cases do you need pharmacological intervention 😊

I am thankful to Maharashtra State Board Because they had completely summarised whole medieval history by the works and good deeds of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his Co. In std 4. There were 12 chapters (as I remember) And there were brief description about the warriors like Tanhaji,Guru Gobind Singh,Lachit Borphukan and many other warriors They didn't tried to hide the so called good works of Muslim Emperors And they clearly criticised it.
How many people in india know fluent sanskrit and listen all awareness messages and RUclips videos in sanskrit. Practically most Hindus are most getting united with awareness knowledge of Hinduism in Hindi and English language. Currently getting united is more important than waiting for govt to make sanskrit learning compulsory.

Till 2016, I was 24 and a leftist Bengali . Did my college in St. Xaviers. Then I completely turned around when I started reading the Upanishads and found it immensely liberating. I also read Being Different from Rajiv Malhotra. I am huge fan of western fantasy novels like Lord of the Rings, etc. When I read the Puranas, my imagination exploded with ideas. A computer scientist by profession but my love for Indian philosophy, architecture and history wants me to produce some literature on India.
My suggestion to young college students and high school students who love western culture, films , architecture, etc. is read both western and Indian and only then can you appreciate world cultures and develop a sense of refinement that can be truly original.

Bhagvad Gita 18.47 - It is better to do one’s own dharma, even though imperfectly, than to do another’s dharma, even though perfectly. By doing one’s innate duties, a person does not incur sin.
COMMENTARY on Gita 18.47 - When we do our swa-dharma (prescribed occupational duties), there is a two-fold advantage. It is in tune with our disposition. Hence, it is as natural to our personality as flying is to a bird and swimming is to a fish. Secondly, since it is comfortable to the mind, it can almost be done involuntarily, and the consciousness becomes free to be engaged in devotion.
Instead, if we abandon our duties thinking them to be defective, and take up another’s duties unsuitable for our nature, we struggle against the innate inclination of our personality. This was exactly Arjun’s situation. His Kshatriya nature was inclined to military and administrative activities. Events drove him to a situation where it was necessary to participate in a war of righteousness. If he were to shirk from his duty and withdraw from the battlefield to practice austerities in the forest, it would not help him spiritually, for even in the forest, he would not be able to get away from his inherent nature. In all likelihood, he would gather the tribal people in the jungle and become their king. Instead, it would be better for him to continue doing his duty born of his nature, and worship God by offering the fruits of his works to him.
When one becomes spiritually accomplished the swa-dharma changes. It no longer remains at the bodily platform; it becomes the dharma of the soul, which is devotion to God. At that stage, one is justified in giving up occupational duties and engaging wholeheartedly in devotion because that is now the swa-dharma of one’s nature. For people with that eligibility, Shree Krishna will give the final conclusion in the end of the Bhagavad Gita: “Give up all varieties of dharmas and simply surrender unto me.” (18.66) However, until that stage is reached, the instruction given in this verse applies. Thus, the Śhrīmad Bhāgavatam states:
tāvat karmāṇi kurvīta na nirvidyeta yāvatā
mat-kathā-śhravaṇādau vā śhraddhā yāvan na jāyate (11.20.9)[v23]
“We must keep doing our prescribed occupational duties as long as the taste for devotion through hearing, chanting, and meditating on the leelas of God has not developed.”

For me, one of the major reason this culture has survived is because of mothers in my house. No matter how much people downgrade and hate hinduism, mothers in my house are always so dedicated to practice and make the whole house practice hinduism and hindu rituals.

But the GREAT CM of Karnataka wants to create a separate education policy for the state. I don't understand why people are against Hindi and Sanskrit. There is a misconception among people that NEP 2020 imposes Hindi and Sanskrit but on the contrary it says that students will be educated in their mother tongue or regional language up-to 5th grade. People still believe in politicians' statements rather than facts.

Hindi and Sanskrit is imposition but English is emancipation. This is the fruit of our current, 70 year, ongoing education. I can understand if people say Hindi is imposition but how is Sanskrit imposition but not English.

I actually agree with this. I'm a non clinical therapist and in my cares, for 90% of them, it's result of immaturity in emotions and emotional response
It's not even remotely easy to even think logically during depression,let alone take control of your emotions
I also deeply value the complexity of Hindu culture and its role in instilling confidence in Indians but I really don't believe in pseudosciences like mudras, homeopathy,gaumutra etc as it is not based on logic and Sadhguru continuously promotes such ideas
It’s right. Many of these cases are cases of behavioural corrections.
Even psychiatrists don’t directly start prescribing medicines like barbiturates and all.
They ask for behavioural therapy. Meditation sessions. Many of them find betterment with that. Only in severe cases do you need pharmacological intervention 😊

Practically most Hindus are most getting united with awareness knowledge of Hinduism in Hindi and English language. you are right. There might be few things which might not feel right in our indian culture. There are few things in the west which might be positive but they also have few negative things. I am sure many indians living in india or abroad might have already adapted hybrid things, taking positives from both cultures. That mix would be benificial for the society in the longer run.

We should proud for our hindu religion..i live in usa and where i work 90% of workers are christan.every month 2 times they organized yoga programs. And after yoga we all need to namaskar to each and every person.and the yoga teacher is no an INDIAN but she regularly travel india to learn sanatan religion…

I was in a convent school for 12 years of my life and i really was one of those people who criticise hinduism and favoured christianiity a lot more even asked my dad once lets get converted must have been 6-8yo as i grew up and gained more and more knowledge I realised how wrong i was and how Hinduism is the greatest religion ever and I am Proud to say I am a Hindu
This is beauty of Hinduism, we all educated Hindus have similar stories, I was an atheist in the village area and I used to openly talk about my atheism in public and guess what? Nobody ever hated me for that, can you imagine this in case of other religions in India? Hinduism is the most beautiful religion in the world
