An amplifier, electronic amplifier or (informally) amp is an electronic device that can increase the power of a signal (a time-varying voltage or current). It is a two-port electronic circuit that uses electric power from a power supply to increase the amplitude of a signal applied to its input terminals, producing a proportionally greater amplitude signal at its output. The amount of amplification provided by an amplifier is measured by its gain: the ratio of output voltage, current, or power to input. An amplifier is a circuit that has a power gain greater than one.
An amplifier can either be a separate piece of equipment or an electrical circuit contained within another device. Amplification is fundamental to modern electronics, and amplifiers are widely used in almost all electronic equipment. Amplifiers can be categorized in different ways. One is by the frequency of the electronic signal being amplified. For example, audio amplifiers amplify signals in the audio (sound) range of less than 20 kHz, RF amplifiers amplify frequencies in the radio frequency range between 20 kHz and 300 GHz, and servo amplifiers and instrumentation amplifiers may work with very low frequencies down to direct current. Amplifiers can also be categorized by their physical placement in the signal chain; a preamplifier may precede other signal processing stages, for example.[5] The first practical electrical device which could amplify was the triode vacuum tube, invented in 1906 by Lee De Forest, which led to the first amplifiers around 1912. Today most amplifiers use transistors.

The TPA31xxD2 series are stereo efficient, digital
amplifier power stage for driving speakers up to 100
W / 2 Ω in mono. The high efficiency of the
TPA3130D2 allows it to do 2 × 15 W without external
heat sink on a single layer PCB. The TPA3118D2 can
even run 2 × 30 W / 8 Ω without heat sink on a dual
layer PCB. If even higher power is needed the
TPA3116D2 does 2 × 50 W / 4 Ω with a small heatsink attached to its top side PowerPAD. All three
devices share the same footprint enabling a single
PCB to be used across different power levels.
The TPA31xxD2 advanced oscillator/PLL circuit
employs a multiple switching frequency option to
avoid AM interferences; this is achieved together with
an option of either master or slave option, making it
possible to synchronize multiple devices.
The TPA31xxD2 devices are fully protected against
faults with short-circuit protection and thermal
protection as well as overvoltage, undervoltage, and
DC protection. Faults are reported back to the
processor to prevent devices from being damaged
during overload conditions.

I am having that Red TPA3116D2 amplifier board. I have connected it to my tv and continuously using for more than 1.5 years with 8 inch subwoofer and 2, 3-way coaxial speakers with 90 watt laptop adapter. It is VERY VERY powerful. When i use it at full power, everything in the room starts shaking. Heating in inductor coils is normal and they are not damaged yet. Completely satisfied with this board.

I also bought this board, but the ic got burnt at 12v smps , then i removed the heat sink , and found that ic doesn't looks like TPA 3116 , it was much smaller ¹and didn't have heat sink on top.

I am using Philips soundbar 2163B.but unfortunately it's sound bar speakers not working only sub woofer is working.try to repair from local shop but not rectified.i am planning to use subs and bar speakers with ice ocean amp kit.please suggest proper amp borad which suits with speakers and sub of sound bar.
