Thanks for the review I was in 2 minds about purchasing one, but you helped make up my mind. Thanks for posting.
I need to make a updated version of this, glad you like it. I hear that the new trigger will be awesome
oup kip this is a excellent light and work perfectly with my canon mark iii and 60d and the low light flas is 1/128
Thanks for the info on the modeling light, did not no that.
What many didn't know that this monolight was built/made by ATG/Jinbei.
They are sold more of this over the overpriced craps Profoto B1 and Phottix Indra500.
Why I said profoto & phottix are not good to buy for beginners and up to semi-pros:
- the radio transmitter has to be either Canon or Nikon
- the light has to be either Canon or Nikon
- both products don't have ATG AF assist beam
- both can use AC/DC when needed.
- these are only 500ws while the RL-600 is 600ws
FYI:
ATG suggests to use the histogram on the camera to check for the power of either up or down, when pressing the wireless radio transmitter.
Beside if you don't remember how many time you push the transmitter, then photography and well as being a leader is not your field.
Like playing chess.
Or being a great leader or boss.
They practice, practice and make an effort to remember.
We love using these, mine is ATG Gold 2,000ws TTL (ganged up to 8 monolight) for shooting with ATG Gold Phantom Flex4K.
And having 16,000ws sometime is not enough light.
This camera beats our ATG Canon EOS-1D Cr, Canon EOS-1D C, Canon EOS-1D X II & D5.
This awesome ATG Gold Phantom Flex 4K can shoot up 1,000fps!
If you need better equipment, mod/repair/service, try contacting Alzo Digital, CT.
The staff & many pros have been using ATG for over 50 years.
They have email & toll free number.
You are right
lol. the sync cable is a blessing for sony shooters. only pixelking triggers works in hss for sony e mount, and u need to sync them with the strobe through the "useless" sync port
Thanks for the vid. Adorama usually sells the Flashpoint mount version for cheaper but can't find any pics of what that mount looks like.
Hey, did you get the new trigger for this? They came out and are offering a swap for people who purchased one of these lights in the past year. Interested in knowing if it performs better!
no I didn't get one
Hello,
If you have time to answer this next question it would be much appreciated.
I just bought the RL600b flash and I tried triggering it with my phottix odin trigger. It doesn't seem to be working. Do I need to connect my phoenix odin receiver to the flash unit? Do I need to buy a special receiver to connect to my flash in order for the 600b flash to work with my phoenix odin trigger? am I not syncing them up properly? I'm new to this flash system so I am struggling.
Thank you so much for your time.
Christian
do you have a facebook account
great video
can i use my flashpoint rl 600b in hss
with the godox cells ii?
Yes absolutely
what kind of triggers and receivers will i need if i using a song a7s? will i need a shoe adapter? I've seen a few people say you will...
+JapTV ATG's adapter is under the name of..
Vello HSA-CSMSA Multi-Interface (this is better than Sony's) on camera.
Then place the Vello HSA-CSC Adapter on HSA-CSMSA.
Now, place the ATG/Jinbei/Adoroma or any radio trigger on adapter.
ATG was very upset and told Sony that they should put a PC Sync Socket on all ATG's designs which many are now using, A7 series.
FYI:
With what ATG mentioned to me and many other. We now have two PC Sync Sockets in case the radio is out of battery/not working or one goes bad.
We can always tethered the flash for 100% flash triggers.
Thanks for the video
Could you tell me if the charger works with 220 ,I live in Australia our power is 220?
im not sure
Hi, what type of beauty dish are you using? Is possible to use PCB BD with this?
chris chua Fotodiox Pro Beauty Dish 18" with Speedring for Bowens
can I use pocketWizard to triggers besides the one it comes with ?
yeah you can and should if you want to use the HSS.
Quick question man. Did you have any issues turning on the light? I know about holding the power button down, but my light isn't cutting on. The charger is solid green, but there's no 3 sec delay display... Any suggestions? Thanks.
I never had any problems with my units
the hh sync that comes with does not work with my 5DMiii.
I think I have to by the transmitter and the receiver for the light and the camera. I plan to buy 2 more like you.I got yongnou and I had to return them all. it s because of low quality.I am looking for phottix and pocket wizard plus iii.I have been using this flash in a hot day(out door)last month. it was kinda hot. I don't know if it just normal. this is my first mono light. I don't have other brand so that I can compare.
I have 2questions please.
#1.what brand of remote trigger are you going to use?
#2.do you have over heat problem with Fb RL600?
the trigger it comes with is not for HSS,you have to buy a separate trigger with HSS.
+NV NewVision Photography thank you for the answer and thank you for the great review

Should I buy 2 of that triggers for correct work or one enough?
Will I be able to have e-TTL to work with this Monolight by using that trigger, if not could I do it somehow? May be a should purchase anything a bit expensive for that?
can you use other triggers besides the one it comes with?
yup
Hi I seem to have a problem syncing the flashpoint light with my Nikon D610. Could you tell me what the issue may be??
You're making me nervous. My light arrives today and I shoot the D610 too. Fingers crossed.
+Arelis Nunez I didn't even try the included trigger but the flashpoint transceivers I bought with my light work just fine on my D610. They are inexpensive at only 39 dollars
Hi and thank you very much your response. I was able to get the transceiver to work with my camera and all is good. Now i just have to play with it a bit.
Mine stopped firing about 3/4 through a shoot while using a pocket wizard plus III. When I used the trigger that comes with it, it worked again. Have no idea what happened. I happened to be using a d610 also.
Hi: I just got my RL600B. Works great in HSS mode. Am I going to need to purchase any hardware to mount softboxes and beauty dishes to it?
Hey..
Do you know if youngnou transmitter will work with rl 600- with high speed sync...?
+Steffan Silfverberg Sorry, I have no experience with those triggers.
Yes, I use both the Yongnuo trigger for HSS and the wireless fob which came with the 600B
no
hi, whats the difference between the bowens mount and flashpoint mount pls??
The nobs
what's the deffrent between (Bowen mount)and (Flashpoint Mount)?
I dont know what to choose
+Victor Fuentes I chose the bowens mount for two reasons. First Adorama was selling the Bowens mount version at a major discount. Second, Bowens has been around for some time so I figured finding bowens mount modifiers would be a bit easier.
get the bowens
Hello, are there two versions, one for Nikon and one for Cannon ?
Yes
Have you ever tried using a pocket wizard with this?
I have cell ll's but they r the same as wizards
+NV NewVision Photography I'm wondering if I had the rovelight set to 'radio' instead of manual.
You can but you may not get HSS
+Lance J. Reha You'll get better results by using Pocket Wizard FLEXTT5.
+NV NewVision Photography he will never get ATG's True HSS.
ATG True HSS comes with a price.
Remember, photography is all about light.
How heavy is it?
+Law2708 2.5 kg
how do you use hss with pocketwizard?
I dont know
Can't do it with Pocket Wizard
