“Lightning never strikes the same place twice” is a common phrase of reassurance. But the odds of lightning striking the same place or person twice, in reality, is very likely. Be it years apart or not. And in the case of our guest, today life has struck him a couple of times harder than most.
Dannion Brinkley's near-death experiences being struck by lightning first at just 25 years old, which subjected him to unendurable pain and endless surgeries that affected his brain, heart, nerve endings, and tissues, is still able to support others today and share his journey at 71 years old.
This ordeal transformed his life. Dannion has been working as a hospice volunteer across the country for the last 40 plus years.
In 1994, Dannion co-wrote and published his autobiographic record-breaking 25 weeks New York Times bestseller book, Saved by the Light: The True Story of a Man Who Died Twice and the Profound Revelations.
He describes his purported near-death experience and the aftermath of being clinically dead for approximately twenty-eight minutes. He eventually told a tale of a dark tunnel, a crystal city, and a "cathedral of knowledge" where thirteen "angels" shared with him over a hundred revelations about the future, some of which he claims have come true.
In our interview, Dannion talks about his unintentional out-of-body that had just been shot through with himself and watching his loved over 180,000 volts of electricity as he watched his loved ones and paramedics try to save him.
You can also find his 2009 publication, co-written with Paul Perry, Secrets of The Light, Lesson from Heaven in the show notes below.
In this one, Dannion offers an accessible spiritual guide for empowering your life based on his own experiences in the afterlife. A survivor of three near-death experiences, Brinkley presents us with profound “Lessons from Heaven”-the Seven Truths revealed to him in the afterlife-to help readers find their personal paths to happiness, enlightenment, health, and prosperity.
This is a conversation about discovering one’s inner knowing.
Please enjoy my conversation with Dannion Brinkley.

For those that have never met Dannion, he's a HUGE hugger! He literally hugs every single person he comes in contact with, and it's not just some small hug, but instead, a huge, long-lasting bear hug. Why? Think of being on the opposite end of one those hugs and how good they feel, even if it's from someone you don't really know. He does it because he knows he'll get to experience those hugs again on "the other side", as the receiver of the hug. Dannion is an awesome soul and an awesome teacher. Great intereview Alex!

I had the pleasure of meeting Dannion years ago at a book signing in a bookstore in Dallas. As others have mentioned, he hugged everybody there. There were about five of us standing with Dannion talking with him, and he suddenly looked at a young lady and answered a question she was thinking. We didn't know what he was talking about until the young lady got over the shock and said, "How did you know I was thinking that question?" Dannion just smiled and said that he read her mind. He was so pleasant, kind, and fun to talk with. I had to leave to go back to work, and he gave me a big hug when I left. He's a wonderful soul.

I am the same way. Many times certain videos appear on RUclips about animals being abused and other bad things. Than I see after they been rescued and helped and loved than I feel happiness. I think that’s why many times I put myself through watching the bad knowing there is good at the end. Although sometimes it’s so bad I must exit the video. It breaks my heart to deeply.

I have spent hundreds of hours in ceremonies in the spirit world and the way you describe it, the unconditional love and expansiveness. The deep knowing and wisdom beyond the mind. All of this is hard to explain or grasp with the analytical mind. I am so grateful for my awakening that showed me these deep truths and allowed me to heal and forgive myself and others and live from the heart with love and compassion. 🙏💚

They say that in the beginning, they are consumed with the newness and need to process things. Then especially if you call out strongly and emotionally, they will respond. And they may do it in simple ways, like with wild birds or butterflies because sometimes the best they can do is show you signs that they are around you and are watching over you.
