"You'd think an evil *genius* would've thought about making an inescapable room full of instant death spikes *_WAAAAAAY_* before he made a _Spring Man..._ "
I first saw this stage on Flashman85's stream, and I just gotta say... I didn't think that the "forced death" area was actually an alternate path! This just further cements this level's awesomeness, and it still remains my favorite level through out the whole contest! Keep up the great work!
If anyone wants to organize a MaGMML3, I hope that they'll offer you a position as a judge, since you seem to have an eye for aesthetics and outside knowledge, on top of your solid level design (though admittedly, your level does seem too long for my liking).
This level has made me had some of the MOST FUN I've EVER HAD playing a Mega Man level. Dude, SERIOUS props! I think the only segment I struggled with was the footholders crushing me from the sides on that second to last hallway, but other than that... I'd give this level a perfect score for just how creative and funny it is with how it plays with the player's expectations while still providing a moderate challenge for seasoned players. 49/50, got crushed a couple times :P
Oh wow, I really enjoy this level! The use of the forced death thing, taking advantage of the infinite lives AND placing a checkpoint right beforehand where you're supposed to be to show off the level's gimmick was a neat touch, and the fact you can actually use sakugarne on that part as an alternate path to a NEW BOSS, just, this is an amazing level!
Could've used a little more conveyance with the fact that you can go up through red half-platforms, just not land on them. Maybe have a one-time gravity well that forces you past one?
Yeah tbh there's a bunch of things wrong with this stage. At some point I wanna do a remake of it that fixes all of its problems. I've already got a bunch of ideas on how to fix things.
tbh i would love to see a remake of this stage, the original is already great, but i feel like a remake would improve it even more, you could also fix the music loop, it sounds a bit off to me
This is the only level I can think of that playing it is easier than watching it. Man, that red-white-and-blue gimmick messes with my eyes. Still a fun gimmick though.
I don't know if anyone made a suggestion yet but I was thinking, in the screen before the forced(ish) death moment you could have the player enter the next room at a lower elevation and have them jump through a set of red platforms and land on them. That ways they can learn all the red area mechanics in one shot.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have different plans for how to fix the section for my eventual remake of the stage. Plus it would make you feel kind of cheated to be killed by the red topsolids accidentally like that and have that be the way to teach it to you. The way the forced death is framed now makes it feel like a harmless joke, which is a lot better at making it feel fair. Basically, my plan is, I'm going to make the red ladders only kill you when you actually try to climb them, to be consistent with the red top-solids. Then, I'm going to force you to be standing over-top a red ladder when you come out of a screen transition to show that they don't kill you just by touching them, but by grabbing them. Then, now that you know red stuff only kills you when you interact with it in the way that that type of platform is normally interacted with, I'll make the only way forward be through red top-solid platforms, which will challenge you to infer that only touching the tops of them kills you, successfully conveying that fact, and adding to the puzzle element of the red solid gimmick. And I'll make the red topsolids obviously the only way forward so you don't get misled like last time.
This was brought to my and other same-Discord-server fellows' attention, and... *Holy Carp* this is brilliantly well made! Thank you for this little big gem!

“convert it to a .zip file, bass! I don’t want to hear it!”

Memes that are used cleverly for a level design and boss fight?! I'm pleasantly surprised!

Blue is safe, red is death, white is walk through...
This stage was so bad, it made the awfulness counter overflow and now it's good.
Spiked Wall Man is a great. It easily has the quality of a Wily stage boss.

name the next one 'the sequel that nobody asked for' and submit it to a future contest?
Man when I played this, it was total hell for me.
I'm being tricked when I see spike of any color to kill me. But oh well, it was a clever stage
The force beams should have been red to fit with the level, although idk if you can change their graphics

That sounds * good!
10:30 RUBY-SPEARS PHARAOH MAN?!?
This was brought to my and other same-Discord-server fellows' attention, and... *Holy Carp* this is brilliantly well made!
Thank you for this little big gem!
imo this should've been in first place
I've asked this man to help me make a game... What have I gotten myself into!?
LMAO
Don't worry, I know how to make not-insane levels. It's just the ridiculous stuff is so entertaining ;3
BTW, that Pharaoh man fight was pretty awesome. >:D
10:43 Tell me... how is a player expected to find the safe spot?
NOW I'VE GOT YOUR POWER!
Pharaoh Man: (le punch)
The Revenge of Pharaoh Man is the lowest point of the stage.
this stage should've won.
Oh thank god I thought this video got nuked
Why would it be nuked?
@@ThatEntityGirl I'm not sure! I just, couldn't find this video for a few months despite looking everywhere?
@@Pinkanator That's really weird. Not sure why that would happen. I guess RUclips was just being RUclips
Why
Good music 👊

Just kidding. It's good to hear from you. I feel like you've been dormant for quite some time.
Papyrus would approve this stage
