The beginning of a trading journey is tough for anyone! Luckily for Huddie, he had a solid mindset to help him stay level-headed. For him, that started with his sales job.
Entering the market can be like being a kid in a candy store with no one around to keep you in check. It’s easy to become overwhelmed. You have to learn to be patient. Take the time to find where you belong, where your consistency lies, and what trading style fits your personality.
Stick with it … Trading takes time! What’s a few years versus the rest of your life?
Don’t treat this like just another hobby - treat it like a profession. It’s all about your work ethic and sacrifice. Learn to be teachable … Get a mentor, and utilize your mentor well. Spend more time studying. Try everything. You need to focus and find consistency.
When Huddie started to discover his niche - short selling - his goal was to aim for predictable, nail-and-bail moves. So he gravitated toward the overextended gap down.

Here’s the thing ... you don’t need to maximize profits to start growing your account. That’s what Huddie did. Once he made a profit for the day, he’d walk away and go about his daily routine. That’s what attracted him to short selling.
But you also gotta remember that all traders lose.
It's not about how frequently you win - it's about how you lose. So focus on what you know. Track every trade and find what works. You have to be OK with not making money on the day or possibly taking a loss. And you gotta learn to stay positive and keep a strong mentality.

For couples months I have been shorting stocks and in the last seventh two trades I made Im been green. Im follow you guys aproach of looking for couple days straing going up with 70,80,100% and start my position...85% I sold next day... 10% 2 days later and just 2 of them took me more than 3 days holding ‘til close my position..

Awesome video! I can relate. Used to try to go long on stocks but seemed to always get in too late. Started shorting and 80% of the time make money. It’s all about finding what works for you and being consistent! 👍
Fortunately i started my day trading journey in a simulator account. After a few months I noticed that all of these stocks I was trying to predict the next breakout on were always going back down afterwards. Sure sometimes they'd pop up but they almost always retract at some point, If not immediately after going long after a fake breakout. I realised shorting is the way to go and it's incredible how consistently shorting works compared to going long. I look for the stock that is up the most on the day with no good catalyst (there is almost always 1 or 2) and just short it. Works damn near every time.
If I hadn't started in a sim I would've lost a load of money going long and probably been scared out of the market. Going short is so much more relaxing since you know probability is in your favour.
John, what stocks price range are u shorting? I mean, does account size matter as u start.shorting? (Ex, if I have a 2000 account I guess I can only short stocks under $10 to make some money)

Great interview. Have a question.
Am fnishing my first year trading. I scalp low floats long and short in the mornings. Have better consistency on the short side and am thinking about moving to Centerpoint under the auspices of better short locates. Understand they are a direct access broker but concerned about their speed as compared to Lightspeed. Do you guys have any thoughts on this? My style is scalping so need to be in and out very quick on some trades. Am not necessarily holding for several minutes or hours intraday.

I discovered your channel today and I've been binge watching all of your videos. I like how you simplify very important conecpts and tell us exactly how to trade them. I think a cool idea would be to set up a playlist and put the videos in order. For example put all the beginners trading mistakes and intro to stocks videos first then put videos like setting up a tradding plan and exiting trades at the end and if you add new videos to your channel put them in the playlist in order.
