      US said China 'overcapacity' but Xiaomi, third-largest seller of smartphones worldwide entered the electric vehicle market on March 28, 2024. It received so many pre-orders that it effectively sold out for 2024 within the first 24 hours of launch. This means anyone who pre-ordered on March 28, 2024 will likely receive their car in 2025 due to high demand.

The collaboration with the BRICS+ Alliance and BRI Partnerships in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Carribean Islands will surely make up for any loss that would have incurred from the United States. I'm just waiting for China to place bans and sanctions on American imports. It's a tit for tat proposition as two can play this game!

    I think it's a good thing, in a way that common Americans will continue to suffer, being forced to buy from fewer brands. While the rest of the non-Five-Eye world enjoy better car choices.
    Chinese cars are getting better every year, and most Americans have absolutely no clue about the advancement in China.
    I'd say, let them continue to be ignorant, so they'll be left far behind.

      at present, 100% tariffs will still be cheaper than Ford or Tesla.
      So they'll have to raise tariffs again in a year when they discover that their tariffs didn't work.
      But unfortunately for the Chinese, they are not actually at overcapacity. Some brands like Xiaomi are suffering from too many preorders. Chinese demand won't be fully met for a while, so there is no hurry to export to USA.

    It's like China just dropped a sewing needle from its pocket, but the U.S. government treated it like a grenade and immediately fell down and prayed. In fact, the needle was still a mile away from the United States.
    The result of this will only cause panic and disgust among consumers. What the United States needs most now is to boost consumer confidence and re-establish the credibility of the Federal Reserve and Bank of America. However, it is obvious that imposing tariffs is the opposite approach. Americans' self-confidence has been seriously damaged by this behavior, not to mention that it has actually harmed the interests of consumers.
    This is really a bad and terrible decision. It reminds me of the alcohol prohibition in the United States in 1920. In fact, we know one thing very well. If the market has strong demand, then any obstruction will be in vain.

  • @Philip-lk5db
    @Philip-lk5db 4 месяца назад +3

    The sanctions makes no real difference as less than 1% of EVs were sold in the US were made in China. Therefore, China need not worry but find other global markets.
    All China needs to do is mirror the US government by temporarily putting 100% tariffs on US brands coming to China until the US government see their errors. It’s will hurt US car industry more.

    • @blcheah2672
      @blcheah2672 4 месяца назад

      China doesn't want to tariff the US car brands because they are now moving towards 100% EV/ green vehicles. 100% EV will mean a huge drop in Chinese demand for imported oil, which they want.
      Since USA only has Tesla which is price uncompetitive in China, they don't actually import any US EVs. Tariffs will mean nothing.

    When one imports into the USA, you pay the tariff to the Customs Brokers at point of entry. The brokers send it to the USA government. Don't blame China for bringing quality and low cost items to the world. A big screen $500. tv would cost $1500 or more if made in USA. USA wants every thing their way, but are too lazy to compete.
