The only reason I was truly interested in the channel, even though it was Pay-TV, was because of this one anime that aired on it, which, during the days it aired on RTL II, I horribly missed out on in the same way as the PlayStation classic known as Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. It was called Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and I only discovered it somewhere between the tail end of the year 2014 and the beginning of 2015. For someone who truly missed out on it when it aired on RTL II back in the day as I mentioned, it was just pure AGONY seeing it airing on a channel that was purely Pay-TV, or does it, given the somewhat well-documented history about the anime itself being rather a complete flop over in Japan, and that to the Japanese watching it during the timespan it aired on TV Asahi, it looked more like a poor man's Cardcaptor Sakura as the anime was likely made to blatantly cash-in on the popularity and success of the Madhouse/CLAMP megahit from just a year earlier in 1998. No wonder why unlike CCS, it never got any movies, OVAs or any video games based on it. Whether or not it was a good thing to miss out on KKJ given its history of being a complete failure over in Japan, but not so much in Germany however, remains contentious to me. Anyway, I'm actually pretty happy, but also quite sad to see the channel shutdown in less than a year after my discovery of KKJ, which was also ironically the last year the anime saw the light of day on the channel before it never aired again. At least I'm surprised that Ranma 1/2, a very iconic anime that I also horribly missed out on when it aired on RTL II also during 2002 to 2006, never aired on Animax (At least in Germany anyway). Otherwise this would have been even greater agony. Speaking of Ranma 1/2, I only wonder if Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne would also get a remake that would also be exclusive to Netflix and, much like the Ranma 1/2 remake, would also cater to the so-called WOKE audience that, for people like me who horribly missed out on it, would be nothing but pure AGONY, or so it may seem. If only I never left the channel because of how "wrongly" fed up I was of Pokémon which was my main motivator of leaving the channel and moving on from it, because nothing could have prepared me for what came right after I left, and if only the very short-lived RTL II YOU could have aired KKJ even before its quick demise only less than 13 months after launch, rather than airing some piece-a-junk called Digimon Fusion or whatever it was called (Why was that ever needed in the first place?). Leaving the channel only because of Pokémon was purely the worst decision that I now truly regret making.

Desde que Sony (propietaria de Animax) compró Crunchyroll, todo lo están fusionando con Crunchy. La marca Animax dejará de existir dentro de poco tiempo, ya que Sony tiene una marca más valiosa y con más reconocimiento que Animax. De hecho en Alemania en septiembre de 2022 sustituyeron su servicio on demand de Animax por Crunchyroll.
